It was nearly half past four in the afternoon.
"Alright class, that's all for today. You may be dismissed."
Wan Yunting closed his textbook and faced the more than fifty young students before him. They rose in unison with their class monitor, their childlike voices calling out in unison, "Goodbye, teacher…"
"Yes, you all should review what we covered today carefully these next two days. Come back next Monday, and I'll be giving you a pop quiz," Wan Yunting said with a gentle smile.
"Ah, no, Mr. Wan…"
This caused many of the students to groan in dismay. But Song Moyi, sitting in the front row in the middle, cheerfully exclaimed, "Mr. Wan, I'm not afraid of a pop quiz! I'll review and memorize the lessons diligently."
Wan Yunting smiled, pointing at Song Moyi for the other students to see. "Look at Moyi here, you should all learn from her."
"Hehe."
Pleased by Wan Yunting's praise, Song Moyi smiled happily, then quickly packed her schoolbag. She then trotted to catch up with Wan Yunting, her small hand holding onto his arm. Wan Yunting looked back and saw it was the girl, and he smiled, "Don't run. You haven't fully recovered yet, try not to run, okay?"
"Mhm, mhm, I know,"
Song Moyi nodded and smiled, "Mr. Wan, are you coming to my house tonight? I want you to tutor me, okay?"
Wan Yunting pulled her along as they walked downstairs, smiling, "I can't tonight. Teacher has some things to attend to later. How about another day?"
"Is that so? Okay."
Song Moyi pouted her small lips, having no choice but to agree.
Wan Yunting saw Ruan Xingwen in the distance, dressed in a white shirt and a purple half-length leather skirt, approaching with elegant steps. She spotted Wan Yunting leading her daughter downstairs, and Ruan Xingwen's beautiful eyes lit up. She immediately quickened her pace. Seeing her, Wan Yunting couldn't help but recall what had happened at her home last time…
Ruan Xingwen felt the same, making her too shy to meet Wan Yunting's gaze directly. "You're here for class today?"
"Yes."
Wan Yunting nodded with a smile and handed Song Moyi over to Ruan Xingwen, saying with a smile, "Moyi still wants me to come to your house for dinner tonight."
"Oh."
Hearing this, Ruan Xingwen felt both excited and expectant. She looked up at him slightly, "Then I'll ask Auntie to prepare more dishes…"
"No need."
Wan Yunting shook his head slightly and said with a smile, "I promised a friend I'd have dinner at her place tonight. Another day, alright?"
"Is that so…"
Ruan Xingwen felt disappointed. She smiled slightly, "Alright then. I'll contact you another day."
"Okay, you two head back. I'm going upstairs now."
Wan Yunting gestured towards the teacher's office building nearby and waved goodbye to Ruan Xingwen and her daughter before turning to leave.
Ruan Xingwen sighed softly and could only pull her daughter along, turning to walk towards the school gate. Song Moyi tilted her small head and asked, "Mommy, do you like Mr. Wan?"
Ruan Xingwen's pretty face froze. She hadn't expected her daughter to ask that. Song Moyi smiled, "Mommy, you always look so happy when you see Mr. Wan."
Ruan Xingwen gently stroked her daughter's small head, smiling, "You little rascal, you know everything."
