Chapter 1537: Chapter 1537: Accompaniment Is a Lifetime Promise (Part 2)
"Do you like it..." Xu Chaomu wouldn’t dare say she didn’t.
"Let’s go, let’s go see the sea together." Shen Chi took her hand and led her towards the beach.
Xu Chaomu held his hand tightly, reluctant to let go.
The sun was just right, the sea was blue, and the sky was bright.
His palm was warm, just like when he first held her hand as a teenager, each time always making her heart flutter.
To her, every hand-hold and kiss from him felt like a first love, making her heart race like a young girl.
The weather was exceptionally good, with colorful lights darting around.
"Honey, do you remember the last time you took me to the seaside? Back then, our son hadn’t even been born yet." Xu Chaomu walked onto the beach, looking at the boundless sea, and sighed.
Women are inherently sentimental creatures; every memory can touch the strings deep in their heart.
When that string is gently plucked, it can play a beautiful melody.
"I remember."
Shen Chi squinted his eyes and stood beside her, also gazing out at the endless sea.
Waves surged towards the beach, bringing the roaring sound of the towering waves, like a thousand piles of snow.
As the wind blew, even the air carried the salty sweet scent, the unique aroma of the sea.
Xu Chaomu’s long dress and hair were blown by the breeze. She felt the dampness of the sea coming towards her and gently closed her eyes.
The sound of waves crashing against the beach and rocks filled her ears, the water was vibrant and rippling.
"Honey, do you know what this moment feels like?" Xu Chaomu asked.
"Like eating candy?"
"Like a first love!"
"Heart racing?"
"Yes..." Xu Chaomu rarely saw Shen Chi in such romantic moments and took his arm, smiling happily.
Her smile was sweet when she laughed, the sunlight fell on her face, and when Shen Chi looked down, it was as if he saw the eighteen-year-old Xu Chaomu again.
Over the years, she had only become more beautiful.
Shen Chi looked at her, and she looked at Shen Chi.
"Shall we walk on the beach together?" Shen Chi asked, "Would you like to collect some shells too?"
He remembered that she liked picking up shells because she was always curious if there would be a surprise hidden inside after breaking one open.
He always disdained these girlish things, but still let her indulge in them.
Whatever she liked, he would cherish it.
"How about we pick up shells while we walk?" Xu Chaomu looked up at him.
"Whatever you say."
"Honey... why are you so good?"
"When was your husband not good?"
"When you shout at me."
"It’s for your own good."
"Don’t yell at me again in the future, even if I’m wrong, you should patiently tell me."
"No, you’re always right."
Xu Chaomu laughed, wondering why her husband was so good at coaxing her.
They strolled hand in hand along the beach, the scenery was beautiful, and there was no one else, just the two of them.
This was their time, no noise, no clamor, just the warmest companionship.
Companionship is a lifelong promise, one he would fulfill for a lifetime.
Sometimes, they would talk about childhood memories, as usual, Xu Chaomu would chat incessantly with Shen Chi, while he stood beside her, smiling gently.
As if they had returned to the past, his Chaomu was still the same Chaomu.
"Honey, can you guess what I thought the first time I saw you?"
"That you’d eat me?"
"Oh, why are you so perceptive." Xu Chaomu covered her face, "Am I too impure?"
"Used to it."
"..."
Xu Chaomu gave him a disdainful look, wondering why he had to be so sarcastic, so annoying.
"You were so annoying back then, despising me and glaring at me." Xu Chaomu recalled the past and laughed, "I thought I should train you well in the future."
"Your goal was ambitious." Shen Chi looked at her and said, "Now... has it been realized?"
"What do you think?" Xu Chaomu looked at Shen Chi with resentment.
Shen Chi curved his lips, smiling silently.
Of course, it hadn’t been realized; in matters like this, she had always been the one being trained!
As they walked, Xu Chaomu started to whine to Shen Chi: "Honey, I miss the kids..."
"We’ve only been here for a while, and you already miss them? Can you still enjoy this honeymoon with your husband?"
"I just miss them..." Xu Chaomu pouted.
"Come on, let’s find some shells and you won’t miss them anymore." Shen Chi said, "Do you want me to take you out to sea on a speedboat?"
"Tomorrow, let’s walk for a bit today, and then have dinner later!"
"Want some seafood?"
"Yes, I want to eat everything."
Saying that, Xu Chaomu started to run on the beach.
The coastline was long, she kept running, her skirt waving in the wind.
Shen Chi walked behind her, his eyes filled with gentle indulgence.
He just liked watching her, just as she liked watching him.
True love is probably looking at each other endlessly, willing to look for as long as you can, feeling the same heart rush even after many years.
On the beach, she left two shallow footprints, while he followed, leaving long footprints behind.
Seeing this scene, he couldn’t help taking out his camera to take pictures of her, capturing only her.
"Mumu, turn around." Shen Chi called out.
"Huh?" Xu Chaomu turned her head.
Shen Chi pressed the shutter, capturing her bright smile as she turned. That smile, like a sunflower, was pure and beautiful.
Xu Chaomu laughed, her laughter echoing across the sea, and she then posed for a few more pictures.
She knew Shen Chi was quite good at photography.
After a few shots, Xu Chaomu walked up to him with her phone and said, "Take a selfie with me."
Shen Chi wasn’t fond of taking photos, but since Xu Chaomu invited him, he didn’t refuse.
Xu Chaomu took a few casual photos, and Shen Chi then noticed that her phone’s screensaver had unknowingly been changed to a picture of their son.
He couldn’t help feeling jealous: "Wasn’t it us on the screensaver before?"
"Our son is more handsome than you."
"Change it back." Shen Chi said discontentedly.
What do you mean the son is more handsome than him? Without his looks, their son wouldn’t be that handsome!
"Okay, okay, I’ll change it back." Xu Chaomu just switched the newly taken photo to her screensaver, it’s nice to switch it up, as they are all her most beloved people.
Shen Chi was satisfied and continued walking with her on the beach.
Slowly, the sun set, and the evening glow painted a beautiful picture on the rippling sea.
Xu Chaomu grew tired, sat on a large rock, hugging her knees, and looked into the distance.
She thought, this must be the best look of love.
The sea breeze lifted her long hair, and she looked at the sea, suddenly shouting: "Shen Chi, I love you."
After shouting, she giggled like a little girl who had gotten candy and looked at Shen Chi.
Shen Chi hugged her, his gentle lips brushed against her ear, murmuring softly in her ear: "Mumu, I love you too."
Under the afterglow of sunset, the two snuggled close, whispering softly.
As the evening breeze rose, Xu Chaomu nestled against his neck and said, "Honey, let’s go back for dinner."
"Alright." Shen Chi looked at her for a moment, then crouched down, "Come on, I’ll carry you."
