Gu Zhe’s eyes remained fixed on Qin Wen after she stepped onto the stage. His memory wouldn’t betray him; he had seen her before. It was just that with so many people seen, he couldn’t recall the exact place.
“Sect Master Gu, who do you think will win next?” Lian Bin asked, looking at Qin Wen and another man on the stage.
“It’s hard to tell without them fighting. But I’ve seen this girl somewhere,” Gu Zhe commented, watching Qin Wen. “I just can’t recall where.”
“Sect Master Gu, you’ve seen countless people, so it’s normal not to remember everyone,” Lian Bin said with a smile.
Gu Zhe nodded. He met so many people every year, it was hard to keep track.
Gu Zhe might not remember, but Gu Xiaofang did. This was the person who had snatched her hairpin at the cultivator’s convention. However, Gu Xiaofang was a little puzzled why her father had been so scared back then. He had been vague about it afterward, only saying that a certain man was incredibly powerful.
“You don’t have your man with you now, do you?” Gu Xiaofang thought, glancing around.
“Senior Brother Lian, my stomach hurts. Can you accompany me to the restroom?” Gu Xiaofang asked Lian Yihan, who was intently watching the match.
“Of course,” Lian Yihan nodded.
“Han’er is about to compete. Hurry up,” Gu Zhe said, glancing back. He didn’t say anything more.
After Lian Yihan followed Gu Xiaofang away, she didn’t head for the restroom. Instead, she looked at Lian Yihan and said, “Senior Brother Lian, if you encounter the woman who just fought on the stage, please help me vent some anger.”
“Miss, do you know her?” Lian Yihan asked curiously.
“There’s no one else here, so you don’t need to call me Miss,” Gu Xiaofang pouted playfully, then continued, “Senior Brother, will you help me or not?”
“Let’s talk about it if we meet her, Xiaofang. How do you want to vent your anger?” Lian Yihan asked.
Gu Xiaofang pondered for a moment. “Never mind. She and I have no enmity, and I don’t even know why I’m jealous. Let’s forget about venting.”
Gu Xiaofang didn’t know how to express her anger when Lian Yihan asked her. They didn’t seem to have any grudges or conflicts. After much thought, Gu Xiaofang couldn’t articulate her feelings.
“Uh… alright then.” Lian Yihan was slightly taken aback and said no more.
“Xiaofang, didn’t you say your stomach hurt and you needed to go to the restroom?” Lian Yihan asked Gu Xiaofang.
“That was just an excuse. Senior Brother, I want you,” Gu Xiaofang lowered her head, feigning shyness.
“I have a match soon. Besides, it’s broad daylight. Isn’t it inappropriate?” Lian Yihan said, glancing around nervously.
“Your match is the one after next, which is at least ten minutes away. That’s enough time. Let’s go to the haystack in front. We can still hear the cheers of the crowd, and it’s broad daylight. It’ll be so exciting,” Gu Xiaofang said, pointing to a haystack not far away.
The thought alone made Gu Xiaofang feel wet.
“I don’t know… what if someone sees us? It’s so open,” Lian Yihan said, looking somewhat scared.
“It’s fine. That’s what makes it exciting. Hurry!” Gu Xiaofang said, pulling Lian Yihan towards the haystack.
Upon reaching the haystack, Gu Xiaofang quickly tore open the wrapper of a sausage and took a large bite. Lian Yihan could no longer hold back and flipped Gu Xiaofang over.
Qin Wen’s match ended quickly. She defeated her opponent in just two minutes. Next up was Penguin Ma. Penguin Ma’s opponent was also a foreigner, a man with a white cloth on his head, dark skin, and exceptionally bright eyes. Jack Ma had dispatched his foreign opponent in three kicks, so Penguin Ma decided to finish his with two.
Penguin Ma struck a pose, ready to fight.
“I know a little… a little of your language,” the dark foreigner said, then continued, “I have three rules: I don’t fight women, I don’t fight children, and I don’t fight men wearing glasses.”
Penguin Ma knew foreigners often had many rules and thought this was another one of their beliefs. “Then you forfeit?” he asked.
“No, I’m advising you to forfeit because I don’t want to break my oath. I’ve sworn it,” the dark foreigner shook his head, signaling Penguin Ma to concede.
“Are you crazy, or are you just trying to stall for time?” Penguin Ma asked the dark foreigner.
“I’m not stalling. Don’t force me to break my oath. I don’t want to swear again,” the dark foreigner said.
Penguin Ma’s face turned red with anger. Was this guy messing with him? What did he mean by ‘not wanting to swear again’? Hadn’t he already broken his oath?
“Get lost! You’re more disgusting than Teacher Ma!” Penguin Ma exclaimed and launched his attack.
Seeing Penguin Ma charge at him, the dark foreigner moved to meet him. Fueled by anger, as Penguin Ma was about to reach him, he suddenly leaped into the air, executing a 360-degree spin. He almost lost his balance and fell. Fortunately, Penguin Ma had good control and didn’t make a significant mistake. While in the air, Penguin Ma’s fist struck the dark foreigner’s head, causing him immense pain and making him dizzy. The dark foreigner hadn’t even seen what happened; his head had already taken a heavy blow from Penguin Ma. He stumbled and fell straight down.
At this moment, Penguin Ma completed his 360-degree spin and landed. Since it was his first time using this self-created move, he was a bit unsteady on landing and took a few steps back to regain his balance. However, this minor flaw didn’t detract from Penguin Ma’s prowess. He then leaped forward, stomping on the dark foreigner’s stomach with both feet. The dark foreigner vomited his undigested meal, his eyes wide open, before passing out.
“You don’t need to swear again, because you won’t have a chance to fight,” Penguin Ma said boastfully, looking at the unconscious dark foreigner.
“Alright, alright…” The audience below applauded Penguin Ma’s impressive performance. Penguin Ma bowed to them with mock humility and then walked off the stage triumphantly.
The host then took the stage and announced, “The next two contestants are Xia Lin and Lian Yihan.”
Xia Lin walked onto the stage slowly, but Lian Yihan was nowhere to be seen. Gu Zhe and Lian Bin searched everywhere.
“Go quickly and fetch your senior brother! He took Xiaofang to the restroom,” Gu Zhe shouted anxiously.
“Yes, Master,” the two junior disciples replied and ran outside.
In the haystack, Lian Yihan exclaimed, “Xiaofang, I can already hear them calling my name!”
“Hurry, don’t stop! We’re almost there, go deeper,” Gu Xiaofang ignored Lian Yihan’s concern. It was a critical moment for her, and she couldn’t be bothered with the match. Nothing was more important than her own needs.
Lian Yihan had no choice. He pressed the accelerator to the floor, pushing the car to 180 mph.
“Senior Brother, Senior Sister.”
As they were speeding, two voices suddenly spoke from beside them.
