Cheng Cheng and the Cicada

Chapter 87: The New Law of Space-Time

**Chapter 87: The New Law of Space-Time**

Chu Anqing stared at everyone in disbelief, then doubtfully peered out the porthole again...

Against the black void of space, just ten meters from the spacecraft, a shimmering blue electric orb danced erratically—flashing up, down, left, right, with no discernible pattern.

Its glow was vivid, crackling with eerie tendrils of light, floating weightlessly.

**How could anyone miss it?**

She blinked rapidly, refocusing on the particle.

No mistake—it was still there!

Identical to before!

Still teleporting, still pulsing.

During the earlier capture attempt, the radio had been chaos—shouts, commands, frantic updates—so tense it made her palms sweat.

But Huang Que had given her no role. Unsure what to do, she’d followed Lin Xian’s advice: watching the particle from the passenger cabin’s window, marveling at its beauty.

She’d seen Gao Yang maneuver the robotic arm with startling precision, yet fail each time by a hair’s breadth.

**Then came the near-miss.**

The "rice cooker" capturer had grazed the particle—phasing straight through its intangible form.

A shame, but progress.

Yet suddenly—

The team erupted into panic, claiming the particle had **vanished**.

But Chu Anqing could still see it, clear as day!

Why had they stopped?

With the spacecraft descending, time was running out!

So she’d rushed to the equipment cabin—

**"You can STILL see it?!"**

Liu Feng shot up in the cockpit, only to be yanked back by his seatbelt. Fumbling free, he tossed aside the tracker and sprinted toward her—

"Wait!" He skidded to a halt, yelling back at Wei Cheng:

"**Maintain current speed and trajectory! Don’t adjust anything!** If Anqing can see it, the particle’s path hasn’t changed. We won’t lose it as long as we hold course!"

Wei Cheng nodded.

His duty was simple: **keep flying straight.**

The rest?

That was up to the others.

---

**55 km above Europa Continent.**

The spacecraft continued descending.

Inside the equipment cabin, Liu Feng breathlessly interrogated Chu Anqing:

"You’re certain it’s unchanged? Still flashing? Direction stable?"

Her answer was unequivocal—

**The particle behaved exactly as before.**

Only now, **no one but her could see it.**

"**Impossible!**" Gao Yang slammed the console. "If it’s invisible, it should be invisible to **everything**—cameras, sensors, **everyone!** Why just her?!"

Silence.

The answer was obvious.

**This was why Huang Que had brought Chu Anqing.**

No tasks. No role.

Just… **this moment.**

All the anomalies—

Zhang Yuqian. Chu Anqing. CC.

Three identical faces across three timelines.

The truth was undeniable:

**[Chu Anqing possessed a unique connection to space-time itself.]**

And the only person who knew **why**—

Lin Xian turned slowly.

His gaze locked onto Huang Que, leaning silently against the wall.

Her secrets were unraveling.

Meeting his eyes, she finally exhaled—

"**Congratulations, Lin Xian.**"

Her voice was quiet, resigned.

"**You’ve just uncovered a fundamental law of space-time.**"

---

### **The Revelation: Space-Time Rejection**

Liu Feng’s theory crystallized:

1. **The particle’s instability was defense mechanism—a rejection of our reality.**
2. **Collisions with matter in our timeline drained its "visibility."**
3. **Chu Anqing was the exception—immune to this law.**

But the implications ran deeper.

Huang Que’s weakness. Her fading blue eyes.

**She, too, was suffering "rejection."**

A foreign entity in a timeline not her own.

Just like the particle.

Lin Xian’s voice was steady:

"**This ‘rejection’ doesn’t just affect the particle, does it?**"

Huang Que smiled faintly.

A silent admission.

**[They had stumbled upon a universal truth:]**

**No timeline tolerates intruders.**
