Chapter 1231 Only Married a Few Days

Daisy was anxious and said, "Don't you have power and influence? You can do anything! Hurry up and send someone to find Shaohua. I don't know where he is, and I really don't!"

Daisy's voice attracted the attention of others in the restaurant. The other diners pointed at them.

Wu Xiufang, worried about being photographed by media reporters or paparazzi, stood up and said to her, "You don't need to tell me, I will send people to look for him. If my son is missing, I'm not done with you."

After speaking, she turned and left the restaurant haughtily.

Daisy sat there, wondering where Huangfu Shaohua might have gone if he hadn't returned home.

She didn't notice until Susu arrived.

Susu was a little late due to matters at the studio. Seeing Daisy sitting there with a blank stare, as if she hadn't seen her at all.

She waved her hand in front of Daisy's eyes and asked, "Daisy, what's wrong? Are you okay?"

Daisy snapped back to reality and looked at Susu, saying, "Shaohua's mother just came to find me. She said Shaohua didn't come home and he's missing again."

"Missing again?" Susu asked, not understanding. "Did he come back?"

Daisy lost her appetite and said, "Susu, I'm sorry, I just remembered something and have to go."

"Wait, did Huangfu Shaohua's mother give you a hard time, or say anything unpleasant?" Susu asked worriedly, seeing her in a bad state.

Daisy shook her head and said, "Her attitude is normal. I can handle it. I really remembered something else."

"But I also have something important to tell you," Susu stopped her. "It's not too late to leave after I've finished."

Daisy had no choice but to sit down and ask, "What important thing?"

"Tianyi has already found out that someone was indeed bribing the two coaches at the boxing club from behind the scenes," Susu said in a low voice, looking at her.

She asked, "Was it Shaohua's parents who bribed and instructed them?"

Susu shook her head and said, "The two coaches confessed. It was a woman named Zhong Lu."

Daisy couldn't recall knowing anyone by that name, and even the name sounded unfamiliar. She asked, "Why would she do that? I don't even know her."

"She is Sheng Zhuzhu's mother," Susu gave her the answer.

"It's her," Daisy was stunned. She never expected it to be Sheng Zhuzhu's mother.

Susu said, "The police have arrested Zhong Lu. The evidence is conclusive, and she won't escape legal punishment this time."

"Thank you, thank you to you and President Qin," Daisy felt a complex mix of emotions.

Zhong Lu must have done this to ruin her and her marriage with Shaohua, so that her own daughter could get what she wanted.

She hadn't expected that Shaohua's parents wouldn't have to act, as someone else would help them deal with her.

Seeing Daisy lost in thought, Susu asked, "What's going on with Huangfu Shaohua? Where did he go earlier, and did he look for you when he returned?"

"Susu, I'll explain these things to you later," Daisy said, eager to leave again. "I really have something to do. Let's have dinner together next time."

Susu knew she couldn't keep her and asked caringly, "Do you need me to accompany you?"

"No," Daisy said and hurried out of the restaurant.

Susu didn't follow her, thinking that Daisy had always been independent and strong, and made her own decisions.

Daisy was an adult, and she would recover from the gloom and had her own things to do. Susu felt it wasn't appropriate to interfere too much.

After leaving the restaurant, Daisy went to places where Shaohua might go to look for him, but she couldn't find him.

She also contacted Shaohua's former colleagues from the insurance company, but no one knew where he was.

Daisy searched everywhere. As night fell, she couldn't think of anywhere else he might have gone.

She had also called his mobile phone countless times, but either no one answered, or it was turned off or unreachable.

Walking on the bustling streets, illuminated by the lights, she felt her entire world collapsing.

She realized that from the beginning, she had been too overconfident. With Shaohua's family background, she was simply not worthy.

She had stubbornly married him for love, but she had never considered that besides his parents' opposition, how many other eyes were watching the position of Shaohua's wife, and the future mistress of the Huangfu family.

This time it was Sheng Zhuzhu's mother who harmed her. If she was still with Shaohua, she didn't know who else would target her next, or by what means, or even harm Shaohua.

She couldn't help but bend over and cry in a street corner.

At that moment, her phone vibrated and rang in her bag.

She held back her tears, saw an unknown incoming call, but still answered.

"Hello."

"Daisy? I'm Shaohua's elder sister."

Hearing her voice, Daisy remembered, "Sister Mengqi, hello."

"What happened between you and Shaohua? He's been in a hotel room for the past few days, either drinking or sleeping. He's completely useless," Mengqi asked. "Did you have a big fight this time?"

"He's in a hotel? Which hotel?" Daisy, knowing he was safe, cried and laughed at the same time.

Mengqi told her the name and location of the hotel. "You'd better come and persuade him. He doesn't listen to anything I say, and he even kicked me out of the room."

"It's good that he's okay. I won't see him. When he calms down, please tell him that I can go through the divorce procedures with him anytime." Daisy wiped away her tears, a heavy stone lifted from her heart.

"What? You want a divorce after only a few days of marriage? Do you think marriage is child's play?" Mengqi really couldn't understand what they were up to this time. They had loved each other passionately and recklessly before, and now they were talking about divorce.

Daisy said, "Sister Mengqi, please take him home. He'll feel better after a while."

"Hey..." Mengqi still had something to say, but the other party had already hung up.

Mengqi was standing at the door of the hotel room Shaohua had booked. She saw a hotel attendant pushing a cart, about to deliver more wine to his room, and stopped him, "Don't bring these wines. Return them all."

"But the guest in the room has already ordered them by phone," the attendant said with difficulty.

"If I say return them, return them! I'm his sister!" Mengqi said angrily. "The card he uses to pay for the hotel is my card. I'll cancel that card right now and see how long he can stay holed up in the hotel!"

The attendant could only agree and pushed the cart away.

Mengqi had discovered by chance that the card she had given Shaohua for emergencies had been used for extravagant spending in a five-star hotel for several days, which is how she found out he had booked a suite alone.

He hadn't left his hotel room for days, and all his expenses were charged to the room.

She came to check out of curiosity, and to her surprise, the more she looked, the more shocked she became.

Shaohua was dead drunk, looked much thinner, his beard unkempt, clearly having not groomed himself or shaved for days. He was clearly tormenting himself.
