Chapter 1255 Truly a Mama's Boy

Daisy’s father snorted, unwilling to pay her any more attention.

Susu didn’t know what to say, so she went forward and sat with Daisy for a while.

The oppressive atmosphere outside the emergency room made Susu feel suffocated. She remembered her own biological father, Shu Zhongze, being sent into the emergency room but not surviving the resuscitation.

“Are you okay? I’ll go buy some drinks,” Susu said softly to Daisy.

Daisy nodded blankly, blaming herself for telling her parents about her pregnancy. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have gone to find Huangfu Shaohua, and her mother wouldn’t have fainted.

Susu knew that no words would help now. She went outside the hospital and bought three hot drinks. When she returned to the waiting area outside the emergency room, Daisy and her father were still sitting separately, neither acknowledging the other.

Susu first placed a cup of drink next to Daisy’s father, saying nothing.

She then walked a few more steps, sat beside Daisy, and handed her the other drink. “Have some hot drink. Auntie will be fine, and you can’t collapse yourself.”

Daisy still looked blank, taking a sip of the drink and knowing Susu was right.

Her mother was already ill, and if she fell ill too, her father would be even less able to bear it.

They waited for several hours. The light in the emergency room went out, and the door was finally pushed open from the inside.

A doctor walked out. Daisy was the first to rush forward and ask, “Doctor, is my mother okay?”

The doctor said, “The patient has high blood pressure, which caused a temporary lack of blood supply to the brain, resulting in a cerebral infarction. She has been resuscitated and is out of danger.”

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Daisy’s father repeatedly thanked the doctor.

The doctor added, “However, after the patient wakes up, depending on the extent of the brain damage, she will require a long period of recovery, and it’s uncertain if she will fully recover to her previous state.”

“Will your mother have dementia, or will she need a wheelchair?” Daisy asked.

The doctor explained, “Dementia is unlikely. She will have limited mobility in the future, meaning her range of motion in her limbs will decrease. For example, her hands might not be able to reach behind her back. Whether she needs a wheelchair will depend on the extent of the limitation in her legs. However, with rehabilitation training and the patient’s own willpower, there will be some recovery, and she will be able to take care of herself.”

Hearing the doctor’s words, they felt somewhat reassured.

Medical staff pushed Daisy’s mother out and transferred her to the intensive care unit.

Susu accompanied Daisy and Daisy’s father to the ward.

Daisy saw her mother lying in the hospital bed, tubes connected to her, her eyes closed as if asleep.

She could no longer hold back her tears and reached out to hold her mother’s hand.

Her father suddenly grabbed her hand and said sternly, “You go out. It’s enough for me to be with your mother!”

“Dad!” Daisy wanted to stay in the ward to watch her mother wake up.

Daisy’s father said resolutely, “Are you not satisfied that you haven’t angered your mother to death yet? When she wakes up and sees you, she’ll only get emotionally agitated again.”

Daisy was about to say something more when a nurse nearby said, “This is the intensive care unit. Too many family members cannot stay, and please do not speak loudly to disturb the patient.”

She didn’t argue with her father anymore and had to withdraw from the ward dejectedly, sitting on a chair outside the room, wiping her tears.

Susu followed her out, only handing her tissues. After watching her cry for a while, she said, “Your dad definitely can’t manage alone. While you have the chance, rest well, and then you can take over from your dad. You’re all family, and you’ll need to take care of your mother too.”

“I can’t even close my eyes to rest right now. Every time I think about my mother suffering so much because of me, I regret it. I shouldn’t have fallen for Huangfu Shaohua, and I shouldn’t have gotten involved with his family…” she said, crying again.

Susu felt sad for her and also very angry. She had encouraged Daisy back then, but she hadn’t expected Huangfu Shaohua to be a deserter at this time. He was a complete scumbag!

She checked the time and said to Daisy, “Why don’t you wait here? Your dad is just angry now; he’ll calm down. I’m going to the studio to handle some things and will come to see you and Auntie later.”

“You should go and attend to your business. I can manage by myself,” Daisy said, holding back her tears, already very grateful to her.

Susu smiled and nodded, then left the inpatient department.

As she walked out of the hospital gate, she saw that it was almost dark. She first sent a text message to Tianyi, saying that Daisy’s mother had a minor incident and she would be back late.

Tianyi quickly replied, “Then take care of yourself, and don’t be too late.”

Susu sent him a smiley face in return.

Then, unable to contain herself any longer, she dialed Huangfu Shaohua’s mobile number.

When she met Huangfu Shaohua at the car exhibition last time, she had taken a promotional flyer from him, which had his business card attached. She had made a point of saving his mobile number.

But she didn’t know if his number had changed. However, today she had to help Daisy teach this scumbag a lesson!

She dialed the number, and the call was answered quickly.

“Hello, who is this?”

“Huangfu Shaohua! It’s one thing that you abandoned Daisy, but why can’t you show respect to her mother! Why didn’t you show up yourself and let your mother appear? How old are you, and you still hide behind your mother? You’re such a mama’s boy!”

Huangfu Shaohua, bombarded with the rapid-fire accusations, didn’t understand at first, but he recognized the voice and asked, “Mrs. Qin? What are you talking about? I don’t understand at all.”

“What did your mother say to Daisy’s mother that made her get sent to the hospital!” Susu felt he was playing dumb.

“I don’t know, I really don’t know that my mother met Daisy’s mother. Which hospital is she in?” Huangfu Shaohua asked, completely bewildered.

Susu still didn’t believe him. “Daisy’s parents went to Huangfu Group to find you today. Don’t you know anything about it?”

“No,” Huangfu Shaohua said with certainty.

Susu couldn’t help but pause, wondering if this matter truly had nothing to do with Huangfu Shaohua and if it was his mother’s doing.

Huangfu Shaohua, hearing no response from the other end of the phone, asked, “Why did Daisy’s parents come to the group to find me? I met Daisy’s mother once before, and I made everything clear. They already knew I was divorced from Daisy. I didn’t hide anything from them.”

“It’s not about your divorce from Daisy.” Susu wanted to talk to him in person. “Do you have time now? We can meet and talk.”

“Yes, I’m about to get off work. Where should we meet?” Huangfu Shaohua agreed.

He knew Daisy resented and hated him and didn’t want to see him, let alone say much to him.

Huangfu Shaohua also wanted to learn more about Daisy from Susu.

Susu arranged to meet him at a tea restaurant closer to the hospital and went to wait for him there first.

Huangfu Shaohua didn’t want his mother to know about this, so he began to think about how to shake off the bodyguards following him.

Moreover, as Susu had just mentioned, Daisy’s mother’s hospitalization was related to his mother. It seemed his mother’s people had covered up this matter, which was why he hadn’t seen Daisy’s parents at all and didn’t know they had come to the group.
