Chapter 855 Expecting a Miracle

She gently opened the gift box for him, deliberately saying, "Alright, I'll go get your clothes. Do you like this gift?"

Tianyi lowered his head, seemingly looking at what was inside the box, but his head was throbbing so badly that he couldn't see anything. He reached out and touched it, feeling like it was a piece of clothing. The fabric was very comfortable. He said, "You designed this shirt, I love it."

Susu said, "Yes, this is a shirt I designed for you myself. It's bright yellow, which really suits your temperament."

"I like bright yellow, it makes me look energetic when I wear it," he said, unfolding the shirt.

Susu was speechless. The shirt she had personally designed was actually white, looking quite ordinary at first glance.

It was made of a high-end cotton fabric with subtle floral stripes. The buttons were made of white mother-of-pearl, and the two buttons on the cuffs were uniquely shaped white crystals.

But he seemed to see none of these special designs, or rather, he couldn't see them at all.

Susu pretended to walk a few steps, as if heading to the dressing room to get him some loungewear, but she actually stayed just a step away from him, making no sound.

He indeed thought she had gone to the dressing room, and only then did he painfully clutch his head, trying to relieve the pain in his head, but it only grew worse.

Susu watched from the side, her heart twisting like a knife. She couldn't bear it any longer and said, "You can't see anything again. What's wrong with your head?"

Tianyi froze for a second, knowing he could no longer hide it from her. But the throbbing headache prevented him from explaining much. He said in a low voice, "Susu..."

But he could no longer hold on. Susu quickly pulled him into her arms. He fainted from the pain.

Susu was terrified, fearing she would lose him forever.

She carefully leaned him against the chaise lounge and felt for his breath with her finger. Thankfully, he was breathing.

In a panic, she found her phone and tearfully called for an ambulance.

...

Susu sat by the hospital bed, filled with guilt and heartache. Her eyes were red, and she tightly held one of Tianyi's hands, tears falling involuntarily.

A day and a night had passed, and he still hadn't woken up.

After he was admitted to the hospital on Christmas Eve, Susu, somewhat at a loss, notified Xiao Anjing.

As soon as Anjing arrived at the large hospital, he transferred Tianyi to this private hospital and also told her the reason why Tianyi couldn't see and had fainted.

Only then did she learn that due to the severe impact from the previous car accident, Tianyi had developed a blood clot from intracranial hemorrhage. However, he had kept it from everyone, not wanting surgery, hoping the clot would dissipate on its own, which led to his current condition.

When she learned the truth, her heart ached as if it would explode. She was so terrified that she couldn't stand steadily. Her quiet sobs turned into wails of grief.

She couldn't imagine what life would be like without Tianyi; everything would be meaningless to her.

Fortunately, Anjing was by her side. He helped her to the doctor's office, and a nurse gave her a sedative injection, which finally stopped her wailing and calmed her down.

Anjing wanted to take her home, but she insisted on staying at the hospital to be by Tianyi's side.

The doctor performed a full examination on Tianyi and concluded that the problem was still the blood clot in his brain.

Compared to his CT scan from the previous week, the blood clot had shifted its position, completely compressing the optic nerve and lodged against an artery in his brain. There was no other option but to undergo surgery as soon as possible.

This brain surgery was extremely difficult and required an exceptionally skilled neurosurgeon. If the optic nerve or the artery were accidentally touched, it would result in irreversible severe consequences for the patient.

Just hearing the doctor explain this made Susu's heart pound and her limbs go weak for a long time.

It was only when Anjing reminded her that she managed to pull herself together.

"Susu, you can't break down now. Tianyi needs you," Anjing said, gritting his teeth. "You stay here and keep watch at the hospital. I'll personally go and invite neurosurgeons from abroad to come to Lancheng to operate on Tianyi. No matter how high the surgical risk, we have to take a chance."

Susu calmed herself and nodded, saying with a choked voice, "You're right, hurry and invite the doctors."

After Anjing left, she sat alone on a chair outside Tianyi's hospital room and spaced out for a while. The countless warm and sweet moments they had shared flashed through her mind.

She finally calmed down completely, wiped away her tears, took a deep breath, and walked into the room. She stayed by Tianyi's side, never leaving him.

The doctor said he might not wake up before the surgery, or he might wake up, but his eyes would definitely remain blind until the surgery.

When Susu was tired, she would lie down by his hospital bed to sleep. When she was awake, she would talk to him incessantly, recounting memorable and funny stories from their time together.

She just hoped he would wake up at least once, even for a moment, to say those silly things to her again.

She remembered him calling her name before he fainted; perhaps he had things he wanted to say but didn't have the chance.

However, three days and three nights had passed since Anjing left, and Tianyi still lay there motionless.

Susu could only hold his hand and feel the warmth of his palm to confirm that he was alright, that he was still alive.

Anjing had already gone abroad and was racing against time to contact several renowned neurosurgeons, but it wasn't easy to invite even one or two of them.

These famous experts had fully packed schedules, and even with a substantial sum of money, it wasn't guaranteed they could squeeze in time to operate on Tianyi in Lancheng.

Anjing was doing his best and sent Susu any updates, urging her not to be overly anxious.

They were all hoping for a miracle...

The ringing of her phone woke Susu from her sleep. She opened her eyes to find that it was already broad daylight.

She hurriedly checked her phone, expecting good news from Anjing, but the screen displayed an unfamiliar number.

She didn't answer, habitually glancing at Tianyi lying in the hospital bed. He was still lying there quietly, as if in a deep sleep that no one could disturb.

"Husband, good morning." She squeezed his hand tightly. The warmth of his palm was still there. Only then did she get up, bring a cup of water and a cotton swab, lightly moisten his lips, and carefully feed him a small sip of water.

At that moment, her phone rang again, the same unfamiliar number. She had no choice but to answer, but remained silent.

"Madam, it's me, Helen. Are you free now?"

"Helen?" Susu remembered that Helen was Tianyi's secretary. "Hello."

"Madam, I know President Qin is sick. How is he?" Helen asked with concern.

Susu replied evasively, "Yes, he's alright. Just a bit of a cold, he took some medicine and is sleeping now." She remembered Anjing had reminded her before he left not to tell anyone about Tianyi's real condition, except for the two of them, not even their closest relatives.

Helen's tone became anxious. "New Year's Day is approaching, and our group has a large New Year's Eve party on the 31st. Now that President Qin is sick, and President Xiao said his wife and child are abroad dealing with something and can't make it back. He asked me to invite you to represent them. If neither of them can attend, this year's year-end party will probably..."
