Chapter 822 Mind Your Own Business

As he sped onto the overpass and onto the bridge, a police car, having received orders to intercept him, shone its headlights directly at him and sounded its siren as a warning.

Tianyi slammed on the brakes and swerved left, attempting to evade the police car. However, due to his excessive speed, the car skidded and spun, crashing into the guardrail on the overpass.

...

The two men released Susu and both stood up, menacingly addressing the bespectacled passerby who had suddenly appeared: "Get lost, mind your own business."

Lawyer Gui pushed one of the men and looked at Susu, asking, "Ms. Gu, are you alright?"

Susu was unable to speak and could only shake her head desperately. She hadn't expected Lawyer Gui, whom she had only met that morning, to be here.

After Susu left the coffee shop that morning, Gui Nan stayed for a while longer, gathering information about the other party to the contract.

As he walked out of the coffee shop, he saw from a distance someone helping Susu out of a nearby hotel and into a car.

However, from his observation, it was less like being helped and more like being supported by the men on either side, as if her own feet weren't touching the ground.

Gui Nan couldn't help but feel puzzled. Had Ms. Gu attended a banquet and gotten drunk that morning?

He had initially intended to mind his own business and drive away, but something felt off. He decided to follow the car that had taken Susu.

He followed them to a sparsely populated area. Only his car and theirs were on the road. Fearing he might be discovered, he pulled his car over to the side.

Seeing the direction the car was heading, he found it on foot, parked on the embankment not far from a bridge pier. The surroundings were desolate, and he couldn't figure out where Susu had been taken.

It wasn't until he heard a cry for help that he followed the sound, hiding in the weeds, and discovered that Susu had indeed been kidnapped.

He watched from his hiding spot as the kidnappers, two burly men and a woman, became increasingly aggressive towards Susu. Fearing he couldn't handle them alone, he planned to sneak away to call the police from a further location.

However, he saw that the woman and the two men were becoming more and more abusive towards Susu. Fearing it would be too late if he went to call the police, he rushed out to take his chances. He thought that with his past military experience, he might be able to handle these two men.

He bent down, pulled Susu up, and tore the tape from her mouth.

As Susu was about to speak, the two men who had been holding her immediately lunged at Gui Nan.

"Run, go call the police!" Gui Nan yanked Susu's rope and shouted at her, then expertly used a grappling technique to take one of the men down.

The other man kicked out at Gui Nan, also clearly trained.

Gui Nan found himself unable to subdue the two men quickly and became entangled in a struggle with them.

Seeing Susu escape, Huang Xiuli immediately gave chase.

Susu fled desperately towards the embankment, hoping to encounter someone. She felt the ropes binding her hands loosen slightly, but they hadn't broken completely.

She tried to struggle out of the ropes as she ran, but accidentally tripped and fell to the ground.

Huang Xiuli caught up to her, lunged at her, grabbed her hair, and shouted furiously, "How did you kill Yaxuan? Give me back my daughter!"

Susu yelled back, "No one killed her, she committed suicide! Don't you know she had uremia? She must have been unable to bear the torment of her illness."

Huang Xiuli paused for a second before retorting, "You little slut, do you think I'll believe your lies? Her getting uremia at such a young age is your fault. If Qin Tianyi hadn't been so ruthless and cruel, we wouldn't be in this situation! You deserve to die, all of you deserve to die!"

As she spoke, she yanked Susu's hair and slammed her head against a nearby rock.

The repeated impacts made Susu numb to the pain. Gritting her teeth, she finally broke free of the ropes binding her hands and immediately used one hand to protect her head, while the other forcefully pushed Huang Xiuli away.

Susu got up from the ground, blood dripping from her forehead, feeling dizzy and unsteady on her feet.

Huang Xiuli charged at her again, attempting to choke her.

Susu struggled to steady herself, recalling some of the vital point-striking techniques she had learned at the boxing club, and clenched her fists.

As Huang Xiuli approached, she punched her in the abdomen.

Seeing Huang Xiuli clutch her stomach, Susu delivered another punch to a vital point on her head. Huang Xiuli's eyes rolled back, and she collapsed to the ground.

Susu, trembling, looked back to see Lawyer Gui still struggling alone against the two men, clearly at a disadvantage.

Just as Gui Nan repelled one attacker, the other man tackled him from behind.

Susu hesitated between continuing to flee to call the police or helping Lawyer Gui first when, suddenly, several police cars sirens blared as they approached.

They stopped not far from the bridge pier, and a large contingent of police officers armed with weapons disembarked.

Seeing that the situation was unfavorable, the two men fighting with Gui Nan immediately stopped and said, "Bad news, the police are here, let's escape!"

The speaker quickly glanced around and fled towards the river.

The other man tried to follow but was held firmly by Gui Nan. The man suddenly pulled a small knife from his pocket and desperately stabbed at Gui Nan.

Gui Nan let go and dodged, but was still stabbed in the arm by the man.

Susu jumped and waved, shouting, "We're here, here!"

The man who had stabbed Gui Nan dared not tangle with him any longer and quickly ran towards the river. Reaching the riverbank, he took a deep breath and plunged into the water.

Gui Nan chased after him, his feet wading into the water, feeling a chill. He wasn't a good swimmer and could only watch as the two men escaped.

The arriving police formed a cordon and approached Susu.

Susu could now clearly see Su Kangxi among the police officers, and Xiao Anjing was beside Su Kangxi.

"Kangxi, Anjing! Go help Lawyer Gui, I'm fine. Huang Xiuli has been knocked out by me!"

They also saw Susu. Kangxi gave Anjing a look, signaling him to check on Susu, while he led the team directly towards Gui Nan.

Just as Susu finished speaking, Huang Xiuli, who had somehow gotten up from the ground, picked up a stone from the grass and swung it at the back of Susu's head.

This scene was exactly what Anjing, who had just arrived, saw. He shouted in alarm, "Susu, watch out behind you..."

Susu sensed something was wrong and turned around immediately, but it was too late to dodge. Huang Xiuli's raised stone was about to hit her face.

With a bang, a bullet accurately struck Huang Xiuli's raised hand. Her hand trembled, and the stone fell to the side.

Susu stumbled back several steps in shock.

Huang Xiuli held her injured hand and glared at Susu, laughing loudly, "Gu Susu, kill me if you have the guts! I don't want to live anymore! It's all your fault and Qin Tianyi's, you ruined our family, you ruined Yaxuan! If you don't kill me today, I will kill you!"

Susu was stunned by her frenzied expression. Was this still the same Aunt Qin Er, the haughty socialite from before?
