The two private detectives nodded. One of them said to them, "Why don't you guard the front and back doors? We've all been police officers before and have experience catching people. Let us go up."
Tianyi and An Jing exchanged glances, understanding each other, and each took up a position at one of the doors.
Tianyi guarded the front entrance, his gaze fixed on the third-floor windows.
Before long, he saw figures moving rapidly within the window. The two private detectives were apprehending someone.
The commotion inside the window lasted for about three to five minutes before it ceased. Tianyi felt that the person must have been caught. Just then, the police cars and officers dispatched by the authorities arrived.
Several officers drew their weapons and were about to go up when they saw the two private detectives escorting the fake taxi driver down. They handed the man over to the police.
Tianyi rushed forward, grabbed the black man by the collar, and roared, "Where did you take the little boy?"
The black man feigned ignorance and cursed, "What little boy? What are you doing here? Why are you arresting me?"
Tianyi clenched his fist and was about to strike him when an officer intervened.
The officer advised, "Mr. Qin, please calm down. We'll take him in for questioning immediately, and we'll surely find out the child's whereabouts."
In front of so many officers, Tianyi had no choice but to retract his fist.
He and An Jing watched as the police took the fake driver away.
An Jing comforted him, "Let's wait patiently for the results of the police interrogation. It should be very soon."
Tianyi could only return to the hotel with An Jing to await news, and he also shared this good news with Susu.
When Susu heard that they had found the driver who had abducted Little Star, she felt a glimmer of hope in finding him.
For the past two days, she had been at home with her two children. Their noisy presence helped to slightly distract her from the anxiety of worrying about Little Star.
As soon as she finished her call with Tianyi, she received a call from Xu Shishi.
"Sister Gu, have you returned to Lancheng? When can you come to the studio?"
Susu replied, "I'm in Lancheng. Did something happen at the studio?"
Shishi chuckled on the phone, "Nothing at all, everything is fine. The launch event for our brand collaboration was very successful. I'm planning a celebration banquet to reward everyone, and I'd love for you to join the fun."
"That's wonderful, but I won't be able to make it. Tianyi has some matters to attend to recently, and I need to stay home to look after the children. If you need any design proposals, please send them to me online."
Shishi sensed her unhappiness and asked, "How is Little Star's condition? Has he recovered?"
Susu didn't want to dwell on Little Star's disappearance, so she simply said, "Little Star had some trouble abroad, and Tianyi went to handle it. I'm not in the mood for a party."
"Alright, I understand." Shishi didn't press further and ended the call.
Susu put down her phone, thinking about how much she owed Shishi for her help with the studio's affairs during this period.
She decided that once Little Star was found and everything returned to normal, she would give Shishi a portion of the studio's shares, making her a major shareholder.
Staying at home, Susu felt helpless, her only recourse being to pray daily for Little Star's safety.
Tianyi waited at the hotel for an entire day. He received news from the police that there wasn't enough evidence to detain and interrogate the man further.
According to the police, the man consistently denied abducting Little Star, only stating that he had dropped the child off by the seaside and left.
He had also hired a defense lawyer. The police surveillance only proved that he had put the child in the car, but there was no other evidence.
Furthermore, he insisted that he had acted out of kindness, claiming the child said he lived near the sea, so he drove him there.
Tianyi was furious upon hearing this, knowing that the local laws required sufficient evidence. It seemed that relying on the police interrogation wouldn't make the man tell the truth.
He discussed the situation with An Jing, and they came to a final decision.
They found out when the police would release the man and arranged for someone to discreetly guard the police station's entrance.
Tianyi went to the man's residence to wait, while An Jing went to handle other matters.
As Tianyi had expected, after being released from the police station, the black man swaggered back to his home.
He figured that if the police couldn't do anything to him, no one else could.
He made a living by randomly grabbing children and women on the streets and selling them. He was intimately familiar with every street and alley in the city that wasn't under surveillance.
Even if the police came looking for him, he knew how to get out of trouble, which was why he felt no fear.
Upon returning and seeing Qin Tianyi sitting in his home with cold, piercing eyes, he was startled. However, his ferocity quickly returned, and he casually picked up a knife from beside the door.
He skillfully played with the knife in his hand and tried to intimidate Tianyi, saying, "Who are you? Get out, or don't blame me for being rude!"
"I am the father of the boy you took," Tianyi said in a voice as cold as ice. "Since you dropped the child off near the sea, I'll have to invite you for a good swim in the ocean."
His chilling demeanor made the man shiver, but he still tried to act tough, saying, "It's your fault for not watching your child properly. Coming to me is useless."
"Seize him!" Tianyi's voice was calm yet commanding.
At that moment, several burly men rushed in from outside. Before the man could react, their heads were covered with cloth bags.
Despite his struggles, the knife fell from his hand, and within minutes, he was subdued and stuffed into a cloth bag.
Tianyi directly ordered them to carry him out.
The black man finally felt true fear. After an unknown amount of time, he felt himself being carried somewhere else.
When the cloth bag was opened, his head emerged, and he realized he was on a fast-moving yacht.
Someone held him down and tied his hands and feet.
Tianyi sat in a chair directly facing him on the yacht, with An Jing standing beside him. Their gazes towards the man were icy and filled with murderous intent.
Tianyi sat elegantly and asked him coldly, "This is your last chance. Where exactly did you take the child? Tell the truth."
Although the man was already very nervous, he still refused to admit anything, holding onto a sliver of hope. "I really don't know where the child went afterwards. I saw the child alone on the street, and it was a moment of kindness..."
Tianyi didn't let him finish before waving his hand.
An Jing understood what to do. He said to the men holding the man, "Throw him into the sea and tie him to the stern of the boat."
Then, he deliberately glanced at the sea and added, "We've reached international waters where sharks frequently appear."
The man trembled violently in fear and shouted, "Let me go! What are you doing?"
But Tianyi had said it was his last chance and, without mercy, threw him into the sea, tethering him to the stern with a rope.
The boat continued to sail, and he and An Jing stood at the stern, watching him being dragged through the sea, bobbing and swaying in the waves.
