Chapter 1120 Cannot Be Too Humble

Susu lay on the bedroom bed, the atmosphere in the room made gloomy by Tianyi.

She merely wanted to turn over, and Tianyi stared at her, saying nervously, "Don't move!"

Startled, Susu sat up and said, "Tianyi, the baby won't burst out of my belly in a day. Don't be like this..."

Before she could finish, Tianyi covered her mouth, "Nonsense, what bursting belly? I won't let anything happen to you."

Susu wanted to get up and walk around, saying, "See, I'm fine now. The doctor said as long as I have regular check-ups, we should just carry on as usual."

"No, you stay at home and rest. No moving around, no running." Tianyi pushed her back onto the bed and said, "I'll find you a more authoritative obstetrician."

He didn't give Susu a chance to speak and continued, "I've already instructed Xiaomei. She and Xiaolin will keep an eye on you and stop you from running around. I'll contact other doctors now."

With that, he was about to leave the bedroom.

Susu shouted loudly, "Qin Tianyi! Come back here. You can't restrict my freedom!"

After hearing what the doctor said, she was a little scared, but Tianyi's fear and nervousness far exceeded hers.

When they came out of the hospital after the examination, he simply carried her out. He didn't let her walk a single step until they returned home. It was as if she would have a massive hemorrhage and die if she moved an inch.

She herself was no longer afraid; instead, she worried more about Tianyi.

"Didn't you hear the doctor say how dangerous it is?" Tianyi returned to her side.

Susu grabbed his hand and said, "I understood what the doctor meant. It depends on the situation later in the pregnancy. There is danger, but it might also be fine. Do you think Xiaomei and the others can keep me in check?"

"I'm scared," Tianyi could no longer hide his fear and held her hand tightly. "If something happens to you, I can't imagine it, nor can I bear to think about it..."

Susu smiled at him gently and said, "It won't happen. I'll be fine. I will safely give birth to this child..."

"No more, I don't want this child anymore," Tianyi said choked with emotion. "I regret it, so much regret. I shouldn't have treated contraception lightly, always thinking it would be okay to have another child. I've harmed you."

"Silly, it's not easy for women to give birth. It's normal to have some complications. Besides, even if I weren't pregnant, wouldn't there still be danger? Who can predict these things? We could be hit by something even walking on the street."

Tianyi covered her mouth again, "Can you say something auspicious?"

Susu snuggled into his arms, smiling, "Great luck and prosperity. Can you be more rational? We'll listen to the doctor and have check-ups once a week. We'll live normally, and perhaps in a few months, everything will be fine."

Tianyi finally relaxed a bit and lay down beside her. The two squeezed together, holding each other tightly.

"Then you must be extremely, extremely careful with whatever you do."

"Got it." Susu was deeply touched and quickly kissed his cheek, saying with a hint of complaint, "Normally, you should be the one comforting me in this situation. Instead, I have to comfort you and tell you not to be nervous or scared."

"I'm sorry." Tianyi felt full of guilt towards her. It was because of his slight selfishness that she had to suffer.

Susu chuckled, "I didn't expect President Qin to say sorry. These are the three words I rarely hear."

"If you like hearing them, I'll say them to you every day." Tianyi wished he could suffer this hardship in her place.

"Forget it, I prefer you to be more domineering. My man cannot be too subservient."

"Susu," Tianyi kissed her forehead without any desire, and resumed his commanding tone, "You must lie down and rest properly today. No moving around, no running."

"Yes, President Qin." Susu obediently nestled in his arms and fell asleep.

...

An Jing walked into Tianyi's office with an important document and asked, "What have you been doing these past two days? Why did you have the secretary send all the files to me? Do you want to work me to death!"

Tianyi was online, researching various risks during pregnancy, and had already read many cases of embryos implanting on cesarean section scars.

He minimized the webpage and looked at An Jing, saying, "There's something. You can sign it."

"But the final decisions on project operations have always been signed by you. I wouldn't dare to overstep my authority." An Jing threw the document in his hand back to him.

Tianyi glanced through the document, signed it, and said, "Take it."

An Jing didn't take his document but craned his neck to look at his computer screen and asked, "You haven't been handling any official business these past two days. What are you researching on your computer?"

Tianyi waved his hand to block his view, impatiently saying, "Your curiosity has gone too far."

"Are you thinking about how to deal with the Huangfu Group?" An Jing remembered something else. "I gave the surveillance video to Ai Yifeng. I originally wanted to give it to both of them. But Ai Yifeng was worried that the pregnant Xi Xianya wouldn't be able to handle the shock, so he doesn't want her to know for now."

Hearing the word "pregnant," Tianyi's heart tightened again. Only now did he realize that pregnancy and childbirth for women were like passing through the gates of hell; it was too terrifying.

"Hey, are you listening to me?" An Jing asked, seeing him suddenly lost in thought.

"Oh, I'm listening," Tianyi said. "It's all the same. As long as Yifeng understands our intentions, it's fine."

"He understands and says he will cooperate with us."

Tianyi hummed and wanted to continue searching for information online. If he didn't look at the information, he would feel anxious.

"What's wrong with you?" An Jing found him increasingly unusual and pressed, "Is there something you're hiding from me?"

Tianyi had been feeling stifled these past two days. In fact, Susu was the one who needed encouragement and comfort the most.

He couldn't show more fear than her in front of Susu anymore. So, when he got home, he tried his best to appear relaxed and even told Susu some cases he found online that seemed dangerous at first but turned out to be fine.

"Susu is pregnant again," Tianyi replied calmly.

An Jing was happy for him and said, "Good for you, you're going to be a father again. Congratulations."

"But I don't feel there's anything to be happy about."

"You're being too humblebraggy, trying to annoy me?" An Jing scoffed. "I also want another child, but Lan Yu said we should consider it at least after Yu Ning starts kindergarten. She only wants to focus on taking care of Yu Ning now. You truly don't know how fortunate you are."

Tianyi said dejectedly, "But the doctor said Susu's pregnancy is very dangerous. The baby's implantation site is not good, and it could cause a massive hemorrhage at any time."

An Jing gasped, "No way, no wonder you've been a bit off these past two days."

"The most critical thing is that we can't abort this child now, and we don't know if there will be danger later. We can only observe," Tianyi could no longer hide his worry.
