Chapter 694 You Dare Call Me Greasy

Tianyi and Kangxi agreed to go to the island together. Tianyi also asked, "Have you checked the bar near the lake road that Sophie mentioned? Did you find anything wrong?"

"You wouldn't know until you check. The original behind-the-scenes owner of that bar was Jia Nanfang. Lü Yuanhong was the first to fund her in opening it in Lancheng, and it was also where they often met privately when Lü Yuanhong occasionally visited Lancheng in the past."

"What do you mean by 'original behind-the-scenes owner'?"

"When we went to investigate, the bar had already been transferred, and the current owner knew nothing. However, there was a cleaner who had been working there for over ten years. We only managed to get this information from her."

"It seems we found out about this bar too late," Tianyi said with a hint of regret.

Kangxi replied, "Don't worry. Whether it's the police in Southeast Asia or us, we won't give up on capturing Jia Nanfang. Even the cleverest fox will eventually show its tail."

"Good."

Just as Tianyi finished talking with Kangxi, Susu came out of the bathroom. Seeing that he was no longer dealing with official documents, she hugged him from behind and said, "Mr. Qin, work is important, but your health is even more important. You shouldn't always be busy with work at home."

"Are you saying you want me to accompany you?" Tianyi turned around with a devilish smile.

Susu cupped his face and pretended to be frightened, saying, "Honey, your smile is so cheesy, it's terrifying."

"You dare call me cheesy? There are even scarier things waiting for you." Tianyi suddenly got up, picked her up, and threw her onto the bed, pouncing on her with exaggerated movements.

She rolled over on the bed to dodge him, laughing, "Honey, you look so funny like this."

Tianyi pressed her down and kissed her passionately for a moment, then let go and said, "Look at your hair, you haven't dried it after showering. Be careful not to catch a cold."

Susu grabbed a dry towel that had fallen on the bed and said, "I wanted to dry my hair with a towel, but you didn't even give me time to dry it."

Tianyi sat up, took her towel, and began to dry her hair.

Susu hugged his waist playfully, nuzzled against his leg, and closed her eyes, asking, "Who were you chatting with on your phone while I was showering?"

"An employee from the group. He had something to ask me," Tianyi lied, thinking of giving her a surprise later.

He had also instructed Su Kangxi that they should keep this matter a secret from Susu.

"Talking to employees about work so late? Don't they need to sleep? That's a bit much."

Seeing that Susu didn't suspect anything, he smiled and said, "After all, there are very few good bosses like you, who always treat their employees to meals and give gifts. Your employees are the happiest. But with you like this, can your studio really be profitable? How much profit have you made since opening? Are you sure you won't go bankrupt?"

"How do you know I treated them to dinner today? Who told you?" Susu, feeling comfortable leaning against his leg and hugging his waist, was already feeling a bit sleepy as she asked, "Did you plant an informant in my studio?"

"Sophie was so happy when she got back from work that she told me everything. I don't have any informants," Tianyi said with amusement.

"Oh," Susu said sleepily, "I occasionally treat them to dinner, how much can that cost?"

"I think it would be good to have Yanan take a look at your studio's accounts sometime, and then you'll know." Tianyi had finished drying her hair and put the towel aside. He noticed she had stopped speaking.

He looked at her cautiously and saw that she had already fallen asleep.

"Sleep, sleep, sleep. You fall asleep as soon as you touch the bed. All you know is how to sleep," he grumbled softly, though he carefully adjusted her position and covered her with a light blanket.

He lay down beside her, his body tensing slightly, but he couldn't bear to wake her. He sighed, kissed her forehead, and whispered, "You are my nemesis, I've truly lost to you."

He then got up and went into the bathroom to take a shower.

...

In golden October, Kangxi and Yanan's wedding was successfully held.

The small banquet hall did not have many guests. Susu counted about seven or eight tables.

The couple didn't have many relatives, mostly male colleagues and some mutual friends.

To make the atmosphere more lively, Susu brought everyone from her studio, and anyone she knew who knew Kangxi and Yanan, even if they were only distantly related, Susu invited them all.

This way, the guests filled the banquet hall.

As they stood on stage and the host began the wedding ceremony, Susu felt that Yanan looked particularly beautiful today, the most feminine and beautiful she had ever seen her.

Indeed, a woman in a wedding dress is the most beautiful.

...

The next morning, Susu was woken up by the incessant ringing of her mobile phone. She grabbed it and, still groggy, answered, "Hello..."

"Get up quickly, drive over here, and take me to the airport."

Susu opened her eyes and recognized Yanan's voice. She said in surprise, "Aren't you supposed to be leaving for your honeymoon with Kangxi early this morning? Why are you asking me to take you? Please stop messing around. I slept too late last night, let me sleep a bit longer."

"I'm not messing around. Kangxi received a call from the police station early this morning saying he had to go to the station for something first, and asked me to go to the airport by myself." Yanan said with a hint of grievance.

Susu forced herself to wake up and said, "No way, didn't he already request leave? And for such a big event as a wedding, calling him to work while he's on leave, do their leaders have any humanity?"

"Exactly. So, are you going to take me to the airport or not? If not, I'll just take a taxi myself."

"Yes, I'll take you. Who told you to be the bride? I don't want you to be wronged." Susu said, opening her eyes and preparing to get up. "You pack your things at home and wait for me. I'll be there with my car soon."

"I knew you were the best. See you later." Yanan's tone instantly became cheerful again.

After hanging up, Susu sat up in bed and realized Tianyi was no longer in the room. He had likely gone to the group early.

Yesterday, at Kangxi and Yanan's wedding, Tianyi had left early after the banquet, saying he had urgent matters at the group to attend to.

She, on the other hand, had stayed at the banquet to accompany Yanan. Although she wasn't a bridesmaid, she was considered family on the bride's side, and it wouldn't have been appropriate to leave too early.

She stayed until very late, and only left with the newlyweds after the wedding had dispersed and all the guests had departed.

When she returned home, Tianyi was already asleep. She didn't wake him and quietly got into bed, falling asleep.

Now, early in the morning, Yanan encountered this situation. Susu had no choice but to take Yanan to the airport first and then return to catch up on sleep, sighing that being a police officer's wife was truly not easy.

She quickly washed up and went into the walk-in closet to find a casual outfit. She noticed that a few of her clothes seemed to be missing from the wardrobe.

However, she didn't have time to check carefully. She changed into a dark gray casual outfit and hurried out with her car keys.

She drove to Yanan's place, picked her up, and they prepared to head directly to the airport.
