Chapter 334 Is There a Mistake

The moment the class bell rang, she stuffed her books and notes into her bag, rushing to Teacher Emma's studio.

But as she reached the classroom door, Sophie blocked her path, making a funny face and smiling, "Where are you hurrying off to? Come have a cup of coffee with me."

At this moment, Wendy, who had been waiting outside the classroom, also came to Gu Susu's side. "Miss Gu, let me take your bag. Where are you going next? I'll drive you."

Gu Susu, carrying her own bag, politely declined, "No need, I can carry it myself."

Sophie must have had something to tell her, so it didn't matter if she went to the studio a little later. She hadn't had a relaxed chat with Sophie in some time.

Sophie asked with a hint of confusion, "Susu, who is this?"

Gu Susu introduced her, "Wendy, Si Jie called her from New York to look after me."

Sophie smiled at Wendy, saying enviously, "How lucky! You have a personal nanny, just like a big star."

Wendy's expression was stiff, and she managed a faint smile for Sophie.

"No, Si Jie is just worried that I might suddenly get a headache or feel dizzy, and there wouldn't be anyone to take care of me," Gu Susu explained.

Sophie had come to see her precisely about this matter today. But thinking that this nanny, Wendy, was Yang Si Jie's person, she didn't show any particular reaction and asked Susu again, "Do you really have time for coffee with me?"

"Miss, if you're asking me out, of course I have time." Gu Susu agreed to Sophie, then turned to Wendy, "You don't need to drive, and you don't need to follow me. I'm going for coffee with a friend."

Wendy immediately said, "Miss Gu, that won't do. Mr. Yang instructed me to stay with you at all times and not to leave your side."

Sophie secretly took a breath. Was this a personal nanny, or a personal surveillance?

"Whatever you say." Gu Susu had tried to communicate with Wendy about this many times, telling her not to follow her constantly, but it was mostly useless.

She had also spoken to Yang Si Jie about it on the phone, but Yang Si Jie had no intention of removing Wendy. He just told her not to mind having an extra person around, citing his own experience of having several bodyguards constantly with him in New York and that she would get used to it.

Gu Susu couldn't say anything more and went with Sophie to their usual coffee shop.

Sophie had been eager to tell Gu Susu something, but Wendy stood right beside their table, making it feel very awkward.

With an extra person around, Gu Susu also felt uncomfortable. She said to Wendy, "Could you order another coffee and wait outside the shop? I have a friend with me, and if I feel unwell, she will notify you."

Wendy looked at the two of them and finally nodded. She found a spot further away from them, but still within sight of Gu Susu's actions.

Sophie felt much more relaxed and complained to Gu Susu, "You can tolerate this? What does Yang Si Jie mean by this? Is he distrustful and hired someone to monitor you?"

"No, he's just concerned, that's why he's doing this," Gu Susu said gently. "You came to see me because something happened, right?"

Sophie nodded quickly, glanced around, took two pills from her bag, and hid them with her hand as she placed them under Gu Susu's cup and saucer.

Seeing her being so secretive, Gu Susu glanced at the pills under the saucer and asked, "What do you mean? Are you taking drugs?"

"How could I do something so foolish?" Sophie whispered. "Do you remember that time we had dinner with Mr. Qin, and you suddenly had a headache so severe you almost fainted? I found two medications in your bag. After I took you to the hospital, I was curious about the ingredients of those two medications, so I asked the doctor to help analyze them. Yesterday, the hospital notified me to pick up the analysis results. Guess what?"

Gu Susu thought it was no big deal and felt she was overreacting. "I know about those two bottles of medicine. One is sleeping pills, which I keep for myself. Sometimes when I have a headache and can't sleep, I take one. The other bottle was prescribed by Dr. John for my post-concussion syndrome and to help with memory recovery."

"Yes, one of those two medications is a common sleeping pill. But the other one is not a medication for post-concussion syndrome or memory recovery at all." Sophie said seriously.

"Then what kind of medicine is it?"

Afraid that Wendy might see, Sophie dared not take out the inspection report. She whispered, "It's medicine that only people with depression take. And it cannot be taken long-term, as it can damage the nervous system of a normal person. Even patients with severe depression can only take one every three days, and after a month, they need comprehensive examinations of their heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, and nervous system."

"Could there be a mistake? Si Jie, Si Jie... he wouldn't harm me." Gu Susu reached out to pick up the two pills but hesitated to touch them.

Sophie said helplessly, "Whether he wants to harm you or not, I don't know. But the doctor said that this medicine will not help amnesiacs recover their memories; instead, it will make the possibility of memory recovery zero."

Gu Susu suddenly felt a chill run through her body, and her vision began to blur.

Sophie lowered her head and reminded her, "Now is not the time to cry. Your personal nanny is watching us. If she reports something to Yang Si Jie, you might not even be able to see me again."

Gu Susu quickly wiped away her tears, faked a smile, and glanced at Wendy in the distance. She probably hadn't noticed anything yet.

For a moment, she desperately wanted to recover her past memories, to know what exactly had happened to her before she lost her memory.

Was Yang Si Jie really her boyfriend before? Were they truly deeply in love all along?

Sophie glanced at the two pills with her eyes, signaling her to quickly put them away. "I'll take photos of the detailed inspection report and send them to you when I get back. Delete them after you read them."

Gu Susu said "Okay" and quickly used two fingers to place the pills into the pocket on the side of her clothes.

Sophie then acted as if nothing had happened and said with a smile, "I have something else to tell you."

"What is it?" Gu Susu asked, forcing herself to appear nonchalant despite the pain in her heart.

"Well... Mr. Qin has hired me." Sophie smiled sheepishly. "Anyway, I'm not as busy as you are, and I have a lot of free time. Doing design work for their company online is no big deal."

Gu Susu hummed, "I told you long ago that you're more suited to be a designer for their company."

She lowered her head, gazing at the cream foam on her coffee, feeling an indescribable pain and discomfort in her heart.

After losing her memory, the first person she saw when she opened her eyes was Yang Si Jie. She had trusted him so much all along, and she loved him with all her heart.

But she never expected him to lie to her and hide so many things. Not only did he not want to cure her amnesia, but he wanted her to completely forget the past.

At that time, she had also doubted Yang Si Jie's words. However, Yang Si Jie had shown her many photos and objects that proved they had been in love, as well as the tangible records from the orphanage.
