Chapter 413 I Will Fulfill You

Yang Sijie remained noncommittal and added, "Mark is my assistant and loyal to me. You can trust him completely."

Susu smiled at him and replied, "I understand."

Yang Sijie walked towards the main entrance to greet Mark. Susu followed behind him, suddenly realizing that with no roads or cars, only helicopters could access this estate.

If she rode a horse through that forest, where would she end up? Could she escape?

For a moment, she felt uncertain about her planned escape.

As they met Mark and Su Kangxi, Yang Sijie immediately landed a solid punch on Su Kangxi.

Susu hid behind Yang Sijie, pretending not to know Su Kangxi at all, but still shrieked at the sight of Yang Sijie hitting someone.

Su Kangxi, after taking just one punch, collapsed to the ground, unable to stand.

Yang Sijie, still not satisfied, kicked him. Susu cried out in alarm again, feigning ignorance as she grabbed Yang Sijie's arm and said, "Even if he did something wrong, let the law deal with him. Don't be impulsive; hurting him will land you in jail."

Yang Sijie stopped and asked Mark, "How did he become so weak?"

Mark glanced at the current Gu Susu, who resembled her state when she first lost her memory. He was unsure if he could say certain things in front of her.

Yang Sijie noticed his hesitation and said, "It's fine. Just say whatever you need to."

"He only drank some water on the way here and didn't eat anything, so he has no strength," Mark explained. He had withheld food from Su Kangxi to prevent him from escaping.

As a police officer, he had to be cautious. Furthermore, after imprisoning him, they had deliberately starved him. Now that he was weak, he naturally had no strength to fight back.

Yang Sijie understood and told Mark, "Take him to the stables. Make him drink some horse urine, and he'll surely perk up."

Susu immediately stopped Mark and said to Yang Sijie with sympathy, "He's already in this state. Why not give him some food? What if he dies?"

She saw that Su Kangxi was bruised and battered, barely alive, and completely unrecognizable.

Even if she was pretending to have amnesia and not recognize him, she thought that her basic human compassion in intervening shouldn't arouse Yang Sijie's suspicion.

Mark realized she had amnesia again and explained, "Miss Gu, Mr. Yang considered him his best brother, but he betrayed Mr. Yang. Such a person is not worth sympathizing with, even if he dies."

Susu held Su Kangxi's other arm and looked at Yang Sijie, saying, "Since you used to consider him a good brother, you must have some feelings for him. Why not give him some water and food first, at least to let him catch his breath? If you want to punish him, killing him is easy. Making him wish he were dead would be more satisfying."

Yang Sijie looked at her with unfathomable eyes. After a moment of silence, he changed his mind and told Mark, "You go rest for a bit. I'll take him to get something to eat."

Mark started to say something, but Yang Sijie waved him off. "You've worked hard. Go rest in the guest room. I'll call you if anything comes up."

Mark had no choice but to go to the guest room, leaving Susu alone to support Su Kangxi.

She looked at Yang Sijie and asked, "How did he betray you? I can't recall what Mark said earlier."

"Never mind, it's better if you don't remember," Yang Sijie said, stepping forward to support Su Kangxi on the other side.

Su Kangxi regained a little consciousness and looked only at Susu, weakly calling out, "Sister Susu, Sister Susu..."

Susu asked with a bewildered expression, "Who are you calling sister? Am I your sister? I don't remember."

Su Kangxi was startled and asked confusedly, "Sister Susu, have you lost your memory again? Why did you lose your memory again? Did he cause it?"

"Who do you think is harming me? No one is harming me," Susu replied with her same bewildered expression as she helped him to the dining room, made him sit down, and then said to Yang Sijie, "Go get him some water, and bring some food from the kitchen."

Yang Sijie was initially taken aback. But seeing Susu's matter-of-fact demeanor as she directed him, he felt that their time together had gradually led her to accept him.

He felt a surprising surge of happiness and turned to go to the kitchen.

Susu immediately whispered to Su Kangxi, "I haven't lost my memory. I'm just pretending."

Su Kangxi instantly understood and said weakly in a low voice, "It's okay. Hold on a little longer. We'll be rescued soon..."

At that moment, Yang Sijie returned from the kitchen with a glass of water and a plate of leftover pastries. He placed them in front of Su Kangxi and said, "For Susu's sake, I'll let you eat your fill before punishing you."

Su Kangxi ignored Yang Sijie, grabbed the pastries from the plate, and wolfed them down.

Susu was truly saddened to see him so hungry. She hadn't expected Yang Sijie to treat Su Kangxi this way. Had he intended to starve him to death?

Su Kangxi drank the water and regained some strength. He suddenly stood up, swung a fist at Yang Sijie, and roared, "Are you even human? You're utterly heartless!"

Yang Sijie agilely dodged his fist, twisted his arm, and pinned him onto the dining table.

Susu, startled, also stood up and jumped away, not helping either of them.

She couldn't let Yang Sijie suspect she was faking amnesia. Since she didn't know or remember them, she couldn't help anyone.

Even though she was worried about Su Kangxi, she couldn't show him too much concern.

Yang Sijie said angrily, "Kangxi, you're really going all out for a promotion and a raise. You betrayed and sold me out, and you dare to lay a hand on me!"

"What promotion and raise? Do you think I'm like you, willing to do anything to get what I want, without any principles!"

"What right do you have to judge me? If I hadn't helped you in secret, could your undercover operation have succeeded?"

Su Kangxi, with his head pinned down, laughed without fear and said, "You know yourself whether you helped me or harmed me that time. Stop pretending. You'd better kill me, because as long as I have a breath left, I'll bring you to justice!"

"Well said, 'righteous and awe-inspiring'," Yang Sijie remarked sarcastically.

Su Kangxi retorted, "Hypocritical."

Yang Sijie suddenly pulled a weapon from under the table and pointed it at Su Kangxi's head. "You little brat, don't think I won't kill you. If you could abandon years of friendship and try to kill me, what am I afraid of doing to you?"

"Go ahead, if you have the guts, kill me. If you kill me, you can rest easy!" Su Kangxi remained defiant.

Susu watched from the side, her heart filled with anxiety. Was he trying to get himself killed?

"Fine, I'll grant your wish. I'll shoot you!" Yang Sijie raised the weapon higher, preparing to pull the trigger.

Susu screamed in terror. Just as the bullet was about to be fired, Yang Sijie changed direction. The bullet pierced the tabletop next to Su Kangxi.

Su Kangxi, who thought he was about to die, was stunned when Yang Sijie didn't kill him, his eyes wide and unblinking.
