Wang Muman stopped and listened carefully to the sounds. He Lele and Zhou Mingyu looked around her on both sides. The light flickered before her eyes, a little dazzling. Wang Muman followed the sound towards the last stall.
Wang Muman shone her flashlight and found that the sound was above her head. She looked up and saw only a wide-open window. Could it be the wind? Wang Muman was about to ask Yan Cheng, but turned around and walked forward.
"Crack!" The flashlight fell to the ground. The familiar scent of laundry detergent filled Wang Muman's nostrils. Her nose touched the body of the person behind her, who was very close. Both their bodies stiffened. Yan Cheng had strands of hair on his lips.
With her hands hanging down, Wang Muman couldn't react. The light from her feet illuminated the bathroom door. The glass at the door reflected shadows. She was suddenly startled and grabbed the corner of the person in front of her, lowered her head, and leaned on his shoulder.
Yan Cheng still held the flashlight in his hand. The warmth coming from the person in front of him made him flustered. The corner of his clothes was pulled again, and a soft gasp came from his ear. He instinctively patted Wang Muman's back.
Zhou Mingyu and He Lele were initially startled by the sound of the flashlight falling and immediately looked back, but only saw Yan Cheng's turned back. They exchanged glances, then followed the light towards the door. Shadows were reflected on the glass, and they clearly saw a flash of white light.
He Lele immediately cried out, causing Wang Muman to press against Yan Cheng, thinking there was really a ghost.
Yan Cheng felt her strong heartbeat and could hear no other sounds. He reached up and touched her head again. It was soft and smooth. He raised his lowered head and saw the white light reflected from the glass at the end.
"Don't be afraid!" Yan Cheng ruffled her hair. He already knew the truth behind the haunting.
Wang Muman calmed down. Yan Cheng felt her heartbeat calm down, and the distance between them widened. He lowered his hand, and it still felt soft.
Wang Muman looked up. The flashlight only illuminated her clothes, but her eyes met those eyes. The comforting words by her ear seemed to have a magical effect, or perhaps it was the strong sense of security he gave her that quickly calmed her heart. She touched her chest, and gradually, her heart began to beat fast again.
"Let's go, I know the reason," Yan Cheng picked up the fallen flashlight, walked to Wang Muman's side, and told her.
Zhou Mingyu and He Lele felt as if they had escaped death and sat in a nearby classroom, gasping for breath.
"I say, this is like exploring in a horror movie. It's thrilling, but it's easy to have a heart attack," Zhou Mingyu took a sip of water and said to the two people who came in behind them.
"It's not a horror movie, it's just scaring ourselves," Yan Cheng said calmly and sat down.
Wang Muman had actually just seen the reflection on the glass opposite, possibly Yan Cheng's shadow standing there, but in that atmosphere, she overthought it. However, she was only startled, and the person beside her made her calm down quickly. She glanced at Yan Cheng.
"The crying sound was just the wind blowing through the window, and the scary light was just the reflection of the flashlight beam on the ground. There's nothing to be afraid of," Yan Cheng slowly revealed the truth.
"So that's how it is. I thought it was really a female ghost!" He Lele had seen the white light and thought it was a female ghost floating by.
Yan Cheng nodded and added, "It's getting late, time to go back to sleep. I don't want to hear snoring behind me tomorrow."
