Chapter 126 Red String

Since the parent-teacher meeting, Wang Muman noticed that many of her classmates had changed. There was a sense of calm, as if they knew their direction, no longer as anxious, and seemed to have more free time. More students were basking in the sun.

He Lele even started sleeping in history class, which was a huge change. Before, she would never do anything else during history class.

The weather in May gradually grew warmer, especially during physical education class. Many students had switched to short-sleeved school uniforms.

These past few days, Wang Muman couldn't sleep when it was time for bed. She was always in a light sleep, and dark circles had appeared under her eyes.

"Manman, are you secretly studying or reading in your blanket? Look at those dark circles, they're affecting your looks." He Lele stared intently at Wang Muman's eyes.

This was on the way to physical education class. He Lele kept looking at Wang Muman, feeling something was off.

"No, I just can't sleep well," Wang Muman didn't say why.

"How can young people not sleep well? They just don't get enough sleep," He Lele muttered softly. Seeing that Wang Muman was still wearing her jacket, she frowned, "Aren't you hot? Are you weak?" He Lele clearly felt it was particularly hot today, a stark contrast to yesterday, like the difference between winter and summer.

As soon as He Lele mentioned it, Wang Muman felt the heat and took off her jacket, placing it on the grass.

In this physical education class, only a few people were still wearing jackets; everyone else had their arms bare.

Zhou Mingyu stood at the back, observing his surroundings. The physical education teacher was lecturing on theories he didn't want to hear. Suddenly, he spotted something familiar.

During free activity time, he hooked Yan Cheng's shoulder and adopted a posture of "torture for confession."

"Chengzi, do you and Sister Manman have some story you're hiding from me?" Zhou Mingyu asked indirectly.

Yan Cheng looked at him as if he were an idiot.

"Why are you looking at me like that? Tell me! Why do you two have the same accessory? What's the meaning of you, a grown man, wearing a red string?"

"My grandmother prayed for it for her and me. Don't talk nonsense if you don't understand." Yan Cheng glanced at the red string on his hand, then looked at Wang Muman, who was playing badminton in the distance. Her skin appeared even whiter in the sunlight, and the red string was particularly noticeable.

"Why don't I have one?" Zhou Mingyu pouted.

"You don't deserve it." Yan Cheng ran to the basketball court, leaving Zhou Mingyu stunned.

It was as if there was a connection. He Lele also asked Wang Muman, "Your red string, is it the same as Yan Cheng's? Did you two secretly buy them together and not take me!" He Lele pouted.

"No, Yan Cheng's grandmother prayed for this for me, so her grandson naturally has one too." The red string on her wrist made her skin look fair and tender, and there was an undetectable hint of pride in her words.

He Lele nodded and didn't ask further, but she clearly felt her status was being challenged, which annoyed her. She pulled Wang Muman to find Yan Cheng.

As if preparing for a fight, they called Yan Cheng, who was playing basketball.

Yan Cheng, not understanding what was happening, looked at the two of them.

"Manman, I'm going to ask you a very serious question. You must answer!"

Wang Muman didn't know what was going on, so she just nodded.

"In your heart, who is more important, me or Yan Cheng!" He Lele's aura was imposing, and she held Wang Muman's hand tightly.

This made Wang Muman pause. She felt like a childish child. She looked at He Lele, then at Yan Cheng, and decided it was best to appease He Lele first.

"Xiaole, of course, you're more important than him. You're my best friend."
