Zhou Yun narrowed her sharp eyes, her gaze already fixed on the crux of the matter—that small figure.
Walking to the desk, she picked up the printed admission application form and read it aloud, "Jian Sheng, born September 26, 2014, age 4. Principal Zhang, is this how your subordinates handle things? You're letting a four-year-old child into the school?"
Principal Zhang Guo Weng followed her in, his expression grim.
Lin Suiqin wished he could disappear on the spot.
He knew too well the history and complex relationship between these two. Even the smallest matter within the school could escalate into a major issue requiring a vote from the entire senior leadership team due to their disagreements. Now, with them clashing over his admissions, he could already foresee his own tragic end.
Jian Junyu frowned, "Director Lin, what's going on? Doesn't your school have any special requirements for admission age?"
Lin Suiqin had just sent last year's entrance test to him, preparing to have Sheng Sheng take it to gauge her abilities.
Although he was unsure if Sheng Sheng could pass, he wondered why this woman was immediately bringing up the age issue, acting as if she was certain his Sheng Sheng couldn't get into the school.
Lin Suiqin tugged at his arm and whispered, "Young Master Jian, this is our school's Vice Principal. She has some conflict with our Principal, and she has the Zhou and Cheng families backing her. Perhaps..."
Before he could finish, Zhou Yun's sharp voice cut him off, "Lin Suiqin, I'm asking you a question, haven't you heard? Do you still want to keep your position as deputy director?"
Lin Suiqin quickly bowed and said, "Principal Zhou, I am admitting students according to the school's standards. We are currently arranging for Jian Sheng to undergo the entrance test."
He couldn't afford to offend any of the three people present, so he could only try his best to smooth things over.
Zhou Yun snorted, "Isn't there a special arrangement for the invigilator for entrance tests? Is it supposed to be tested so casually by you? Have you forgotten the school's rules?"
Lin Suiqin quickly added, "These are last year's test questions. After Jian Sheng completes them, if she passes, I will then take her for this year's formal entrance test."
Zhou Yun disdainfully glanced at the little girl happily playing on her phone, "The Jian Sheng you're referring to is this little girl who only knows how to play on her phone and doesn't study properly. If it's her, I'll seriously doubt your judgment and ability in selecting students."
Jian Junyu, who had no intention of getting involved in the conflict between the two school principals, was also angered, "What do you know about our Sheng Sheng? If your school has teachers like you who dismiss a student without even understanding them, then I also deeply question your school's ability to educate students."
Zhou Yun's beautiful eyes widened with anger, "It's not up to you to decide the quality of our school's education. Since you don't agree with what I'm saying, then let your child take the test! Don't tell me in the end she won't even recognize the questions?"
Seeing Jian Sheng's surname, she had already guessed which family they belonged to. Not to mention she had the backing of the Zhou and Cheng families, and with her connections in society, she hadn't heard of the main branch of the Jian family having such a grown girl.
Just a collateral branch of the Jian family, did they really think Hongxing Primary School was like other primary schools, thinking that just having the Jian family name would grant them admission?
She was openly disdainful, so what?
"Before taking our school's test, aren't all parents boasting about their children to the heavens and earth? And what's the result? In the end, aren't they still dragged back by their crying children?"
Zhou Yun displayed a sarcastic smile, "I'll make my stand clear: if she doesn't pass the entrance test, even if the King of Hell himself comes, she won't be allowed to step foot into Hongxing Primary School again!"
"Little Uncle, I'm done."
Jian Sheng handed her phone to her little uncle and tilted her head, asking, "These questions are too easy. It's so boring to do them. Didn't they say the entrance test questions at this school are very difficult?"
Zhou Yun's sarcastic smile froze on her face, but she quickly regained her composure.
Even the most gifted child of this age couldn't find the questions easy. This must be because the child hadn't understood the questions at all and had randomly chosen answers, feeling smug about it.
Jian Junyu was about to hand the phone to Lin Suiqin when Zhou Yun snatched it, meticulously comparing the answers.
However, the more she compared, the more her heart sank, and she murmured, "Impossible, this is impossible!"
After reading, Zhou Yun's expression remained displeased, but she suddenly appeared confident. She handed the phone to Principal Zhang Guo Weng, "Principal Zhang, take a look yourself. I can tolerate students being a bit slow, as that's innate and unavoidable, but I cannot accept a problematic student who has memorized the answers beforehand and is smug about it."
Principal Zhang Guo Weng looked closely, and his brows furrowed deeper.
All correct! All correct! Still all correct!
There were two sets of test papers in total: one internal general intelligence test and last year's entrance test. But all the questions were correct, without a single mistake.
But how was this possible?
In all his years as principal, he had never seen a student get everything right.
Moreover, Jian Sheng hadn't taken much time to complete these questions; the average time was not even enough to read through all the questions.
Let alone Zhou Yun's confidence that Jian Sheng had the answers beforehand, even he, without any prejudice, couldn't believe anyone could achieve this level, especially a four-year-old girl.
These were last year's entrance test papers. It was possible for leaks to occur after a year.
Rather than a four-year-old genius getting all the answers right, he was more inclined to believe that Jian Junyu had obtained the answers in advance, had Jian Sheng memorize them, and then simply filled them in.
Principal Zhang Guo Weng sighed, "Young Master Jian, you know our school's requirements. What you've done is indeed going too far."
Jian Junyu looked utterly confused, unaware of the feat his little niece had accomplished.
"Young Master Jian, we both know what's going on. Please take Jian Sheng and leave. Let's each save face."
Principal Zhang Guo Weng sighed in his heart. Since Young Master Jian chose to have Jian Sheng memorize the answers, why didn't he deliberately get a few wrong? Didn't he know that getting everything right would expose them more easily?
Jian Junyu remained bewildered. He knew perfectly well whether he had found answers for Jian Sheng or not. However, at this moment, he hadn't thought in that direction and didn't understand what they were talking about.
Jian Sheng stood with her hands on her hips, her large eyes wide, "Why can't I have gotten it right myself? Just because you can't doesn't mean I can't!"
Zhou Yun chuckled, "Little girl, if you hadn't memorized the answers beforehand and cheated, how would you know what we're thinking?"
Jian Junyu and Jian Junruo finally understood what they had been talking about in circles and both shot angry glances at Zhou Yun.
Although shocked that Sheng Sheng could be so brilliant that it made people suspect cheating, they could not tolerate being slandered when they had done nothing wrong to their precious child!
Jian Sheng still stood with her hands on her hips, her voice childish but full of conviction, "If you don't believe me, you can find new questions for me to do! If I get them all right again, let's see what you say!"
