Chapter 786: Chapter 786: As a Daughter
The system was suddenly thrown out, and couldn’t help but curse again.
This Scarlett Jennings was getting really skilled at tossing it around!
While grumbling internally, the system calmly raised a mist as it crashed into the oncoming black mist, quickly absorbing the mist before it.
Addison had long known that Scarlett had a strange turtle capable of absorbing black mist, but she wasn’t worried at all,
“My black mist is not the same as the others; it can’t absorb it.”
As if responding to her words, the system, after just absorbing a bit of the black mist, could clearly sense a force within trying to pull it in.
It felt as if countless monsters were hidden in the black mist, reaching for anyone who touched it with conscious intent.
The system turtle almost immediately gave up absorbing the black mist before it.
Seeing this, Addison chuckled softly, “I told you, it’s just a little turtle…”
Scarlett looked at her and said,
“Don’t underestimate it.”
Scarlett’s voice was like a shot of adrenaline, making the previously frustrated system turtle perk up again.
Thinking of Scarlett’s recent move, it utilized the surrounding black mist to quickly spin itself, turning into a tornado, whirling small whirlwinds of black mist into a larger one, and then unhesitatingly smashing into the black mist across from it.
Its black mist was originally harvested from these Black Mist Organization members.
Though it consumed some each time, it always stored a bit of energy, gradually forming a special black mist unique to itself.
Upon feeling the grasping monster tentacles in Addison’s black mist, the system focused intently on controlling its own black mist, directly forming a tail within the tornado.
All that could be heard was a loud series of cracks.
The tail mercilessly lashed out at the claws reaching for it.
Accompanied by the system’s angry shout,
[Ugly freak! Don’t touch your turtle master!]
Although Addison’s black mist wasn’t absorbed, it was forcibly blasted open by the system, creating a path out.
Addison’s pupils trembled, not yet able to react from the shock, when Scarlett quickly signaled to everyone,
“Everyone, run!”
Almost at the moment her voice rang out, everyone moved simultaneously.
Greta grabbed Stella Gibson and Ashton Todd, and with an instantaneous teleportation, dashed out of the black mist.
Samuel Chalmers patted Dashiell on the body. Dashiell instantly shuddered and transformed into a silver little flood dragon, grabbing Cedric Wilder and Braxton Weaver and quickly flying out of the range of the black mist, while Elena Hamilton dragged Ariel Zimmerman and the rest of the crew wildly rushed out.
In an instant, more than half of the people vanished from this side.
Within the black mist, besides Magnolia Hearne and the trapped Elysia Xander and Diana Craig, only Scarlett and Samuel Chalmers remained.
Magnolia Hearne turned her head displeased, just about to speak, when Scarlett said,
“Mom, I’ll stay to help you.”
When acting as a Master, she was just her master; that’s how she referred to her before, too.
But here, she stayed as a daughter.

The group quickly dispersed, and at this time in the center enveloped by the black mist, Magnolia Hearne, Scarlett, and Samuel Chalmers took up a triangular stance.
Magnolia Hearne spoke directly, “Leave Addison to me.”
Scarlett said, “I’ll handle the other two.”
Samuel Chalmers glanced at her and said, “I’ll assist you.”
Although he didn’t have combat abilities, he could still assist.
The system turtle flew back unexpectedly, hovering over the trio, ready to take part in the action.
Samuel Chalmers took a look at the little turtle, thought for a moment, and raised his hand to tap on its shell.
A bit of golden light from his palm seeped into the turtle, making the floating system shiver entirely, even stretching its limbs out straight.
Scarlett watched as a hint of golden light seemed to spread around the system, merging into its surrounding black mist, causing the mist’s aura to subtly change.
Before Scarlett could thoroughly investigate the changes, the system seemed to be energized, spinning and leaping, and then shot like an arrow towards Addison and the two others.
[Ah ah ah, don’t stop me, I want to take on ten!]
In an instant of charging forth, the golden light-infused black mist formed a significantly larger turtle tail than before.
The tail swung with a crash, instantly sweeping away the two beside Addison.
In a flash, the three were separated.
Upon the initial shock, Scarlett and Magnolia Hearne immediately reacted.
Thunder Talismans flew out, guided by demonic power,
“Boom!”
Spirit Talismans transformed into nine bolts of lightning, descending; though the two reacted quickly, immediately solidifying their black mist into shields to defend themselves.
Thinking they were full-proof, they didn’t anticipate that the system would turn and directly absorb the black mist they solidified.
The strange mist from that woman couldn’t be absorbed, but these little lackeys’ mist surely could be!
Seeing the black mist was mostly absorbed, the two were momentarily stupefied.
One of them quickly reacted, promptly pulling out a magic treasure to protect himself.
Nine bolts of lightning descended, one’s magic treasure shattered with a crack under the lightning’s cleansing, but at least he emerged unharmed.
The other wasn’t so fortunate; his black mist barrier had mostly been absorbed, and it was directly shattered by the first lightning strike.
The remaining eight lightning bolts rained down, the person let out a miserable howl but still gritted his teeth, splitting himself into a black mist replica, narrowly escaping the lightning alive.
Scarlett had witnessed this trick before, seeing him escape, she promptly sent out another Thunder Talisman.
This time, however, it wasn’t nine bolts of lightning.
But a thick Demon Thunder like a slithering snake, striking directly toward the person’s replica.
Seeing this, the person gritted his teeth, creating another replica.
Scarlett focused, attempting to control the demonic power to steer that bolt of lightning.
What followed was that the initial lightning aimed at him now curved upon hitting the ground, turning towards the replica.
Boom!
The snake-like Demon Thunder directly blasted both replicas into black charcoal.
Among them, one person’s silhouette completely vanished amidst the screams.
This move not only stunned the other escaping person but also shocked Elysia Xander on the side.
Elysia Xander and Diana Craig, though under control, had been conscious, watching everything.
