Gentle Sleep Instructor
Chapter 934 Leaking Secrets
The boy clutched his chest, staggering and falling to the ground, his face filled with disbelief as he died. Strangely, despite his severe injuries, not a single drop of blood flowed out.
In the next second, a gust of wind blew by, and the boy was scattered like sand. As the illusion disappeared, the black mist surrounding Gong Zhe gradually dissipated.
The Judgment Officer and the others were nowhere to be seen.
"Mr. Gong," Officer Wu said, running over with his men. "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine. Save the others first," Gong Zhe said.
...
Late at night, inside an operating room at a military hospital, frantic activity continued. A man riddled with dozens of knife wounds lay on the operating table. The doctor couldn't help but gasp when they cut open his clothes and saw the honeycomb-like cluster of wounds on his abdomen.
It was a miracle that he had even a sliver of life left after sustaining such grievous injuries.
"Doctor, no matter the cost, you must save him!" Officer Wu said with a commanding tone.
The man was naturally Luo He. In the adjacent ward, Fu Fu was also receiving treatment. Her leg was severely injured, and a sharp bone fragment had pierced her arm.
After an unknown amount of time, Fu Fu awoke from her coma with a start. "Where's Three? How is Three?" Before losing consciousness, she remembered that Three had saved her.
"In... in the next room." The nurse was frightened by her crazed appearance. Who knew that this seemingly cute girl possessed such strength, gripping the nurse's wrist as if she would crush it.
Ignoring the nurse's protests, Fu Fu ripped out the IV needle and limped out, dragging her cast-covered leg.
The operating room was well soundproofed. Fu Fu could only see the light on inside. Afraid of disturbing them, she didn't dare push the door open. Tears welled in her eyes as she thought of how kind Three always was to her.
The nurse and the on-duty doctor chased after her, managing to persuade her to reattach the IV drip. Seeing that she didn't want to be disturbed, the nurse handed the IV bag to Fu Fu herself, allowing her to hold it up with one arm.
Fu Fu squatted in front of the operating room, afraid to cry loudly.
Finally, the operating room door cracked open, and a hand reached out, patting Fu Fu on the shoulder. "Don't cry. Come in quickly," Officer Wu said in a low voice.
Fu Fu entered the operating room. The frantic scene she had imagined was nowhere to be seen. Instead, the operating room was eerily quiet.
A regular hospital bed was placed not far from the operating table. Luo He, dressed in a patient gown, was sitting up in bed, propped up against two pillows, reading a book.
"Three..." Fu Fu was about to exclaim in surprise when Officer Wu immediately covered her mouth.
"Quiet," Officer Wu cautioned. "Don't disturb Mr. Luo. Also, Mr. Luo's awakening must be kept a secret."
"Eight, you're here." Luo He noticed the sound behind the door, closed his book, and looked over.
"You two talk," Officer Wu said, hurriedly leaving, closing the door softly as if afraid of attracting attention.
Fu Fu, holding the IV bag, scurried over and stood next to Luo He's bed, gazing at his face. Luo He was already fair-skinned, so the excessive blood loss didn't make him look particularly strange, just a little weaker.
As if not quite believing it, Fu Fu reached out to grab the collar of Luo He's patient gown, but he subtly dodged her hand. "It's nothing serious. The doctor said I just lost too much blood and need some time to recover."
"How is that possible?" Fu Fu immediately retorted, but then, seeming to realize something, she spat a few times for good luck, then said, both embarrassed and annoyed, "Curse my big mouth. You're such a good person, Three, nothing bad will happen to you."
Luo He pondered for a moment, then extended a finger. A faint blue halo emerged, spreading outwards, isolating a private space. The scene was magnificent and dreamlike. "Eight," Luo He said, looking at her very seriously, "I have something to tell you."
Fu Fu's face flushed red. This sudden confession caught her off guard. She lowered her head and said softly, in a voice only she could hear, "Go ahead."
"Our operation was leaked again," Luo He said pointedly, "Just like last time."
"Huh?" Fu Fu suddenly raised her head.
Luo He assumed she was just surprised and continued, "The Night Watchers got the news in advance. They knew the two of us would come, otherwise they wouldn't have sent a Judgment Officer and a Candle Bearer, such powerful fighters."
"That stronghold must have been fake too. The people inside had all been transferred in advance, leaving only some useless people behind to confuse us." Luo He lowered his voice. "Someone betrayed us, and that person is among us!"
"Among..." Fu Fu's eyes widened. "Among us?"
Luo He looked into Fu Fu's eyes and nodded. "Four mentioned this to me a long time ago. Five went to investigate a secret stronghold of the Night Watchers and lost contact. After investigation, it was discovered that he was ambushed. Someone betrayed his whereabouts."
"But only a few people are qualified to attend such meetings," Fu Fu frowned. She understood the seriousness of the matter.
"To be precise, only Sir, One, Two, me, and Four," Luo He took a deep breath. "But Four is already dead, so he can be excluded from suspicion."
"Sir can also be excluded," Luo He added.
"Then doesn't that leave only the three of you?" Fu Fu naturally excluded Sir, just like Luo He. Firstly, because Sir would never betray them, and secondly, if Sir wanted to betray them, there would be no need to make things so complicated.
After a moment of silence, Luo He suddenly let out a miserable smile. "Eight, do you know why Gong Zhe was here?"
His words awakened her. Fu Fu's expression changed slightly. They remembered Gong Zhe's appearance. His face had been altered, and that was Four's... no, now Wan Yuanning's ability.
Wan Yuanning did it.
No.
It was Sir!
"It was Sir who informed the Xia family, allowing Gong Zhe to infiltrate!" Fu Fu looked up at Luo He, suddenly understanding the reason for Luo He's miserable smile. Luo He and she were unaware of Gong Zhe's infiltration. Sir had not told them.
To be precise, she didn't want to tell Luo He.
Because this operation was a test for him!
Now many things that she couldn't understand before made sense. No wonder Gong Zhe didn't attack immediately. He was waiting, waiting for Luo He to reveal something.
It wasn't until Luo He was almost killed by the Night Watchers that he finally chose to trust him.
Thinking of this, Fu Fu suddenly felt sorry for Luo He, even forgetting that she had also been injured. "Sir is going too far. Three, you are the one who carries out missions most faithfully. She shouldn't suspect you, no matter who else she suspects!" she complained.
"Don't criticize Sir. Sir is doing something important. One wrong move and the whole game is lost. She also has her difficulties." Luo He felt no resentment towards Sir, only hating that he hadn't done well enough.
