Chapter 999 Showing Respect for Me Today

Chapter 11
After following the waiter for a short distance, the waiter stopped and pushed open a door in front of them. The moment the door opened, light shone in, revealing a huge hall filled with people.

People were drinking and huddled together, hot bodies twisting in the dance floor to the rhythm of the music, instantly igniting the hormones of the tracksuit-clad fatty.

Seeing this scene, everyone immediately forgot the unpleasantness from before. Lei-ge searched around, looking for the girl who was deeply in love with him. He vaguely guessed tonight's outcome.

Pleasure, excitement, and clarity!

But for the sake of his image, he didn't show it too obviously, saying with a slightly impatient and disappointed tone, "Is that all? It's much worse than the places I usually go to."

The waiter immediately turned his head to look at him, the speed of the movement making Lei-ge's heart tremble. "What are you looking at?" Lei-ge couldn't help but feel angry. This waiter had clearly been deliberately hiding there to scare them. He didn't know what kind of training he'd received.

The waiter grinned, revealing a mouthful of white teeth, the corners of his eyes tilted upwards. In the dim light, it was actually a little creepy, and Lei-ge swallowed the words that followed.

"Nothing, sir. Your seats are over there." After saying that, the waiter closed the door and left.

"Fuck!" After the waiter had walked away, Lei-ge finally opened his mouth to curse. "Where did they find this psycho? If I don't have a good time tonight, I'm going to complain about him. He's dressed neither like a human nor a ghost, and he's putting on airs for who?"

Hearing this, the Hawaiian shirt-clad man quickly grabbed Lei-ge's arm. "Lei-ge, do it for my sake today, let's not bother with him. Please don't beat him up, okay?"

Lei-ge glanced at the Hawaiian shirt-clad man and shook off his hand. "It's only because you're stopping me today, or else I would have taught him a good lesson."

After the farce, the group arrived at the location the waiter had pointed out. There were even more people than they had imagined, and they had to squeeze through the crowd to get there. After sitting down, Lei-ge looked around, but he didn't see Xue Jia's figure.

Their seats were relatively close to the edge, and to their surprise, there were already several cups and bottles of wine on the table. The hooded man looked at the wine glasses on the table and frowned slightly. "Exactly five cups, prepared for the five of us."

The Hawaiian shirt-clad man glanced at him impatiently. "You're here today thanks to Lei-ge. Otherwise, you'd have to wait until your next life for a woman to ask you to drink."

The hooded man was used to the Hawaiian shirt-clad man's sarcasm. He didn't dare to reply, but his gaze still lingered on the table. He just didn't understand how Xue Jia knew that five of them were coming.

He had clearly seen Jiang Lei driving the whole time and not touching his phone, and they had originally planned to have all six of their roommates come. But on the way, one of them had an emergency and got out of the car, leaving only five of them.

A chill crept up the hooded man's spine. He suddenly had a premonition that if he had stubbornly refused to enter the bar, there would only be four cups on the table now.

"Let's just go." The hooded man couldn't help it anymore. His hometown was in the countryside, and he had grown up with his grandparents. When he was a child, he had been frightened and became seriously ill. His grandfather had even invited a blind shaman from the neighboring village to call back his spirit (jiao hun).

After he woke up, the shaman, who looked very scary, leaned close to his ear and trembled as she told him to be careful in the future. His spirit had wandered, and his life force was unstable, but this wasn't entirely a bad thing. He would be more sensitive than ordinary people to that kind of thing.

Seeing the hooded man's appearance, the fatty, who had come hoping for a romantic encounter, was unhappy. "I said, are you done yet? Looking at you, are you going to tell us about that time your spirit wandered again?"

"I'm not lying to you. Everything I said is true!" This was his sore spot, and he really wasn't lying.

"Look at him, he's getting worked up! He's getting worked up!" The skinny man grinned.

The hooded man was just about to tell the others about the cups when a figure walked over, attracting Jiang Lei's attention. It was... Xue Jia, no doubt!

Xue Jia was wearing the same clothes she often wore at school: a white top, washed-out jeans, and casual shoes. Her hair was a little messy, and she didn't seem to have put any effort into her appearance, giving the impression that she had just come from the library and gone straight here.

As Xue Jia walked closer, Jiang Lei stood up and brought her to his side familiarly, nudging the hooded man with his foot as he passed, signaling him to get out of the way or shut his mouth.

"You're all here." Xue Jia greeted them with a smile, her eyes showing a captivating charm that they had never seen before. Xue Jia sat next to Jiang Lei, intentionally or unintentionally leaning half of her body against him.

Jiang Lei was invigorated, secretly laughing at the idea of pure and beautiful women. It was all just a persona for outsiders. When they met a rich and handsome man like him, they would take the initiative to throw themselves into his arms.

Jiang Lei glanced out of the corner of his eye and noticed that the hooded man was looking at Xue Jia with a strange expression, not an open and honest one, but not exactly secretive either. It was... a strange look he couldn't describe, with a hint of unfamiliarity and fear.

But Jiang Lei was in high spirits at the moment, and he just thought it was the envy and hatred of this loser. He curled the corners of his mouth and deliberately put his hand around Xue Jia's waist, his fingers becoming restless.

His hand was facing the hooded man's direction, so he could see it clearly. After a moment, Jiang Lei noticed that the hooded man's face was turning white at a speed visible to the naked eye, eventually becoming even deathly pale.

"Serves you right for being single your whole life." Jiang Lei felt even more satisfied, and couldn't help but fantasize about what would happen after the drinking session later.

The hooded man slowly stood up without saying a word, and turned to walk outside.

"Where are you going?" The Hawaiian shirt-clad man was pouring wine for Jiang Lei when he noticed the hooded man leaving. He immediately became unhappy. He had brought him here to pour wine for the brothers, but this kid had no manners at all.

"I'm going to the restroom." The hooded man turned around, his tone calm.

"Going to the toilet before we've even started drinking..." The fatty took a swig of his drink and glanced at the hooded man with disdain. He wouldn't waste his time on men. He was looking for his own happiness on the dance floor.

Seeing the hooded man walk away, the skinny man also kicked him. "It's better for that kid to get lost. With him here, no one can have fun." After saying that, everyone began to drink and flatter Lei-ge.

While this group of people was having fun, the hooded man on the other side was filled with fear. He just kept his head down and walked, his pace gradually quickening. "Something's wrong, this place... this place is wrong!"

"That Xue Jia is fake, definitely fake! How could the real Xue Jia... how could she have no head?!"
