Gentle Sleep Instructor

Chapter 63 Shadow

Chapter 1 The Night Deepens

The night deepened, but even through the darkness, one could still make out the countless mottled stains on the ceiling.

But besides the stains, there was nothing else.

The fatty retracted his gaze and looked at Jiang Cheng with a puzzled expression. His lips moved for a moment before he said cautiously, "Doctor, I don't understand what you mean..."

"It's already 12 o'clock," Jiang Cheng said, holding the camera, his eyes fixed on the door.

The fatty became even more puzzled.

"Yesterday... no one died," Jiang Cheng said.

Hearing this, the fatty's body froze for a moment, then began to tremble uncontrollably. He stared at Jiang Cheng's face and couldn't help but say, "Doctor, isn't it a good thing that no one died?"

"Good," Jiang Cheng said, his face expressionless, "but it's not normal."

"Does that mean it's only normal if someone dies every day?" the fatty suddenly raised his voice.

"Yes," Jiang Cheng nodded affirmatively, "at least one."

They had already spent three full days on this mission.

The qipao woman died on the first night, and Long Tao died on the afternoon of the second day.

Now it was already the fourth day.

Indeed, no one had died yesterday.

Even with some twists and turns, everyone had safely returned to the dorm.

"Doctor," the fatty swallowed and said in a low voice, "Could it be that you're too nervous? Ghosts probably need to rest too."

Jiang Cheng ignored him.

After a moment, the fatty劝劝again, "Doctor, you've already done enough. Don't put too much pressure on yourself."

Jiang Cheng repeatedly looked at the camera in his hand, over and over again.

Zhen Jianren had photographed almost every inch of the music classroom, inside and out, even the teachers and students, but still couldn't find any trace of the ghost.

The ghost... had vanished into thin air.

"Click!"

The light in the room suddenly turned on.

Jiang Cheng's eyes narrowed, and he immediately looked towards the door.

The switch for the overhead light was right by the door.

The fatty, who was standing in front of the switch, was startled by Jiang Cheng's sudden gaze.

"Doctor," he quickly explained, "I also felt that something was wrong. I had a very bad feeling, so I thought it would be better to turn on the light."

That was fine too, since he didn't plan on sleeping tonight anyway.

With the fatty around, he wouldn't be bored.

But just as he lowered his head, preparing to watch the video again.

His body suddenly stiffened.

The overhead light was still on, emitting a dim yellow light.

Following his line of sight, there was a small patch of shadow beneath him.

Like a wisp of mist that could never be dispelled.

The fatty noticed the abnormality in Jiang Cheng and immediately asked, "Doctor, what's wrong?"

No one answered.

"Doctor?" the fatty said, emphasizing his tone.

The unease in his heart grew stronger.

Just as he was about to lose it—

Jiang Cheng suddenly moved. He put down the camera, then grabbed the black camera bag hanging to the side and put the camera inside.

"Fatty," Jiang Cheng said while packing, "hurry up and pack up."

"Doctor, I only have these few belongings on me, all in my clothes," the fatty said, looking at the inky night outside the window, his throat bobbing as he said with a puzzled expression, "But... but is it too dangerous to leave now?"

He was also a bit confused now. After all, just a few hours ago, Jiang Cheng had told him that no matter what, they couldn't leave here tonight.

He looked at Jiang Cheng with suspicion.

After finishing speaking, the latter first cleaned up the trash on the ground, then the empty bottles of ice red tea he had finished drinking, packing them all together and placing them behind the door.

Then he walked back, took off his jacket, and then his pants.

The fatty watched as Jiang Cheng stripped down to his boxer briefs.

"Doctor," the fatty said with wide eyes, "What are you doing..."

The next second, Jiang Cheng, like a fish, "swoosh"ed into the quilt.

"Fatty," a comfortable groan came from inside the quilt, his voice a little muffled, "Hurry up and pack up, turn off the lights first, I'm going to bed."

......

This night was definitely an ordeal for the fatty. He had a belly full of questions, but before he could ask them, Jiang Cheng had fallen fast asleep.

Although he once suspected that Jiang Cheng was faking it.

Maybe he would suddenly jump up again in a while and drag him away.

So he didn't even take off his clothes and waited all night.

Until the sky was faintly bright.

Footsteps came from outside the door.

"Who is it?!" the fatty asked alertly.

"It's me," the person replied, "Luo Yi."

It was indeed Luo Yi's voice, and...

The fatty turned his head to look out the window. It was already dawn.

Jiang Cheng also poked his head out of the quilt and said groggily, "Tell him to wait a while, I'm not used to getting dressed in front of men."

The fatty followed Jiang Cheng's instructions and said, "Wait a moment, we haven't gotten up yet!"

A "hiss" sound came from outside the door, as if Luo Yi had run out of patience with these two people.

"Is there something you need?" the fatty asked.

"We're going to have a meeting in our room later. Everyone can discuss what to do next."

"Okay."

Hearing the fatty's agreement, Luo Yi left. He still had to notify the people in 406.

Unexpectedly, the door of 404 behind him suddenly opened, and Jiang Cheng's head poked out from inside, shouting, "Brother Luo Yi, please wait!"

Hearing this, Luo Yi turned around and looked at Jiang Cheng in this state, his expression a little strange.

"Let's have the meeting in our room later," Jiang Cheng said confidently, "That way, I'll feel more valued."

Luo Yi was stunned, as if he didn't understand Jiang Cheng's intentions, but he still nodded and said, "Okay, then hurry up and get ready."

Twenty minutes later, everyone gathered in room 404.

It had rained last night, but today was a rare good weather.

The first ray of morning light broke through the clouds.

Evenly sprinkling into the room.

Opening the window, one could still smell the refreshing scent after the rain.

Given their opinion of Luo Yi yesterday, the people from 406 didn't like him very much.

Zhou Taifu was even less shy about his suspicion of him.

As the mission deadline approached, the atmosphere became increasingly tense.

"There's not much time left," Luo Yi's face was terrible, and he also felt everyone's rejection of him.

But he didn't explain, because that would only make things more difficult.

"You don't need to tell us that," Zhou Taifu muttered, relying on Yu Wen sitting next to him at the moment, he was much more confident, "When the festival opens, we'll all die here!"

Luo Yi's face darkened upon hearing this.

Zhen Jianren glanced at Zhou Taifu and sneered, "I'm afraid Mr. Zhou is still too optimistic."

"What do you mean?"

"Do you think we'll have the life to last until then?" Zhen Jianren unbuttoned his shirt and stared at him, "The ghost disappeared during the second rehearsal, which means it has completed some kind of transformation, and some of the previous rules can no longer imprison it."

"I think the third rehearsal is our last chance. If we can't end this mission before the third rehearsal, everyone will die!"

The fatty swallowed and asked in a low voice, "Then who knows when the third rehearsal is?"

No one answered.

The fatty felt slightly relieved.

"Tomorrow," Yu Wen suddenly spoke. She took out a small red phone from her pocket and shook it, saying, "Feng Lan notified me, 10 minutes ago."

Then her face changed slightly, "The location remains the same, the time... is midnight."
