Chapter 613 Confrontation

Chapter 11 Find Him

"Doctor Jiang." Someone sidled up and asked in a low voice, "What's on your mind?"

When Jiang Cheng turned his head, he saw Pi Ruan's face, slightly troubled with worry. It was a familiar face, yet Jiang Cheng felt a sense of estrangement.

"Nothing," Jiang Cheng replied calmly. "I suddenly thought of a friend."

Whether Pi Ruan was involved with Crimson or not, now was not the time to verify. The top priority was to find out Liu the Cripple's identity. The strangeness about him was obvious. If they could confirm that he was a former Dongyang disciple, things would be much simpler.

"But where can we find out about Liu the Cripple's identity?" Huai Yi asked. The Feng family should know his background best, but they were already dead.

The police station might be able to find out Liu the Cripple's details, but everyone tacitly didn't mention it. They didn't have a good impression of Director Qiao, who had forcibly kidnapped them to investigate the case.

Unless absolutely necessary, they didn't want to contact him.

After a moment of thought, Jiang Cheng said, "Let's find Wu Dali."

Wu Dali obviously wasn't a core member of the police station. The tasks assigned to him were all errands, but he seemed happy to be carefree.

As they had discussed before, everyone found him at a tea stall. He was shirtless, with one foot on a stool, gambling with a group of people.

From a distance, they heard someone shouting, "Place your bets, riches await!"

It seemed Wu Dali wasn't having much luck. As they got closer, they realized he wasn't shirtless on purpose, considering the weather was getting cooler.

He had lost his clothes too.

After approaching Wu Dali, Jiang Cheng explained their intentions. At first, Wu Dali refused. A strange emotion flashed in his eyes, as if he had some concerns.

But Jiang Cheng's next words made him think deeply. "You've lost your police uniform too. Have you thought about how to explain that when you get back?" he asked Wu Dali.

After a moment, Wu Dali gritted his teeth and said, "Then what do you suggest?"

"I'll help you win it back."

Hearing Jiang Cheng's words, the noisy crowd paused, then burst into laughter. There were all sorts of people here.

They might not have other skills, but they knew how to read people. In their opinion, Jiang Cheng and his group were too "clean" and didn't understand their methods.

A burly man with a burn scar on his right cheek narrowed his eyes and laughed. "Kid, I advise you to mind your own business, or you'll lose your wife too!"

The crowd burst into laughter again.

Jiang Cheng didn't care. He only cared about Wu Dali's answer. "Do you need it, or refuse it?"

Wu Dali pursed his lips. He seemed to know the consequences of losing his uniform, so he hardened his heart and nodded. "Okay, let's do as you say!"

But to everyone's surprise, the one gambling with them wasn't Jiang Cheng, who had boasted so much, but a beautiful woman.

"How do you want to play?" Lin Wan'er reached out, picking up three dice with one hand. Each of her slender fingers held one, and then she dropped them one by one into the dice cup. Her narrow eyes were devoid of emotion. "Over the Sea Gate or Shaking Golden Cup?"

The scarred man seemed to realize that she was not to be trifled with. He pushed away the skinny man beside him and took the dealer's seat himself. He said in a muffled voice, "Shaking Golden Cup."

No one wanted to miss such a gambling game. Before long, many people gathered to watch, even beggars with broken bowls.

As expected, the scarred man lost three rounds in a row. He not only won back Wu Dali's clothes but also the money he had lost before, plus the scarred man's fur coat.

In the cold wind, the scarred man with bronzed muscles shivered, covering himself, with a look of disbelief.

Throwing the clothes to Wu Dali, Jiang Cheng said, "Let's find a place to talk."

Just as Lin Wan'er put down the dice cup and was about to leave, "Wait!" A somewhat harsh voice rang out, but the tone was a little childish.

"Sister." Fu Fu stood beside the gambling table, her mouth splitting into a grin, looking eagerly at Lin Wan'er. "How about a gamble with me?"

Hearing this, Pi Ruan paused, his brow furrowing instantly.

Lin Wan'er turned around, looked down at the girl who was a head shorter than her, and casually tucked her hair behind her ear, nodding.

Seeing this, Fu Fu became even more excited. Her face flushed an unusual red, which the people around her couldn't understand.

Two women gambling here was a rare sight.

Huai Yi and Chen Qiang saw that more and more people were gathering and wanted to leave quickly, but Jiang Cheng didn't express his opinion, so they didn't feel comfortable saying much.

After this period of contact, they also felt Lin Wan'er's control over Jiang Cheng. The relationship between the two was suggestive.

Without looking, Fu Fu relied on her memory to randomly grab three dice from the table and throw them into the dice cup, then shook it violently. After a moment, she slammed it upside down on the table.

"Guessing big or small is boring. Let's guess the points," Fu Fu said, her face flushed, as if she were drunk.

"Alright."

Fu Fu held the dice cup tightly, her eyes shining, her gaze almost devouring Lin Wan'er. "You guess first!"

"12 points," Lin Wan'er said.

Before the words were out of her mouth, Fu Fu's lips curled up, revealing a triumphant smile. "I guess it's 6, 6, 4, 16 points!"

"Open! Open!" The scarred man, who had been standing in the cold wind as a background, crossed his arms and urged loudly, not caring about the excitement.

The others also joined in the jeering.

Fu Fu narrowed her eyes and lifted the dice cup a little bit at a time, her throat rolling from time to time. Although she had foreseen the result, every second before the result was revealed was a delight to her.

A gap gradually opened in the dice cup, and the first dice appeared. "It's 6 points!" someone shouted.

Then, as the second dice appeared, the crowd began to stir.

Still 6 points!

Seeing the second dice, Fu Fu's breathing became rapid. No matter the result, she was already invincible in this game.

But the moment she completely lifted the dice cup, the originally noisy scene instantly quieted down, and everyone stared at the table.

"How... how could this be?" Fu Fu was stunned.

Everyone was stunned.

There were only two dice under the dice cup, one with 6 points and the other with 6 points.

Pi Ruan glanced at Lin Wan'er, who remained calm, and sighed inwardly. Then he shifted his gaze and looked at Fu Fu with sympathy.

The next second, under everyone's attention, Lin Wan'er moved. She slowly raised her hand, a dice held between her slender fingers.

She gently placed the dice on the table, about a few centimeters away from Fu Fu's fingertips, causing the corner of the latter's eye to twitch uncontrollably.

"If you can't even see your own cards clearly, don't learn to gamble like adults," Lin Wan'er said earnestly. "The water here is deep, and a little kid like you can't handle it."
