Chapter 887 Transaction

“Miss Huang, is there something you need this late?” Luo He's azure eyes watched the woman walk in, without the slightest surprise. After all, he could sense everything here.

The visitor was the granddaughter of old Mr. Huang, her name vaguely remembered as Huang Sino.

"It's nothing special, just... just passing by, wanting to see Mr. Luo," Huang Sino said softly. She wore a white coat over a tight-fitting burgundy qipao, the hem of which was embroidered with golden silk thread, looking exquisite and luxurious. She turned her face slightly, a flush appearing on her pretty cheeks.

"Since there's nothing, please leave," Luo He said, averting his gaze and continuing to read his book.

Feeling snubbed, Huang Sino quickly explained, "Mr. Luo, please don't misunderstand, I really just... just came to see you, to thank you for taking action today and saving my grandfather, and all of us."

"These are all Mr. Jiang's decisions, nothing to do with me. I am acting on Mr. Jiang's orders," Luo He continued to reiterate, as if this was very important to him.

"Mr. Luo, I..."

Huang Sino seemed to want to say something more, but Luo He interrupted her cleanly, "Miss Huang, it's late, go back and rest. Don't let old Mr. Huang wait too long at the corner of the corridor, lest he catch a cold."

"Also," Luo He said, "Please tell old Mr. Huang to rest assured. I'm here to work, and as long as I haven't received Mr. Jiang's order, I will never abandon you unless I die."

"Any attempts to tie me and the Huang family together, this is the only time. Next time, I won't pretend nothing happened," Luo He glanced at the elaborately dressed Huang Sino, his tone betraying a hint of disgust.

Huang Sino lowered her head, her hands clenching the hem of her qipao, her delicate shoulders trembling slightly, as if suppressing some emotion. Luo He couldn't help but raise an eyebrow; he hadn't expected this young woman to cry.

"Mr. Luo, you must think I'm very cheap, right? Dressing like this late at night, coming to a strange man's room..." After a while, Huang Sino said softly.

Luo He didn't answer. Although that was indeed what he thought, there were some things he couldn't say.

He could feel that right now, at this very moment, old Mr. Huang was still standing at the corner of the corridor, waiting.

Old Mr. Huang had proactively sent this woman to him.

A dirty act, yet so realistic.

"Mr. Luo," Huang Sino said, raising her head, her tone very soft, "Have you ever thought about what would have happened to my grandfather, and me, and our whole family if you weren't here today?"

"We would all be dead, and then our heads would be cut off and stuffed into that black backpack."

"Perhaps you might not believe it, but I'm not afraid of death. This family has given me 20 years of honor. If one day, I need to make sacrifices for the family, I have no reason to refuse."

"But I'm afraid for my grandfather, and my family members. I'm afraid they will die, will die at the hands of those cruel people."

"I'm very scared. I don't want to lose them, and I don't want to see my grandfather, see my family members frowning every day. I hope they can have a little more hope in their hearts." Saying this, Huang Sino bit her lip, looking at Luo He and saying, "Mr. Luo, now, you are their hope!"

"As long as you are willing to stay, I am willing to give anything!"

"I know you look down on people like me, but please, please... don't drive me away. At least let me stay here tonight, otherwise my grandfather... and my family members..." Saying this, the girl's eyes turned red, almost begging.

Luo He could feel that she was also trying to suppress her voice, worried that her grandfather outside the corridor would hear.

"I don't like being disturbed," Luo He interrupted.

Huang Sino's eyes dimmed, but after a moment, the stubborn woman bit her lip, bowed deeply to Luo He, and turned to leave.

"You can sit on the sofa over there," Luo He's voice came from behind.

Huang Sino's firm steps faltered, then she immediately turned around, looking at the figure behind the desk with an incredulous expression.

"But please don't disturb me. Can you abide by that, Miss Huang?" Luo He looked at her, saying in his usual calm tone.

"Of course I can!"

The night was deep, and the night here seemed cooler than outside. Wearing only a thin qipao and coat, with her two fair legs exposed, Huang Sino sat obediently on the sofa, shivering even though she had wrapped herself tightly.

But she bit her lip, not uttering a word.

Her pale face looked pitiful.

The room was eerily quiet; you could hear a pin drop.

But what worried Huang Sino more than the cold was the man sitting behind the desk not far away, reading a book.

Huang Sino didn't like him, at least not before entering the room. In her view, this was purely a transaction, with both parties taking what they needed.

However, the fact that this powerful and mysterious man refused the transaction and still let her stay took her by surprise.

Those azure eyes drooped slightly, the occasional blink of her eyes like butterflies fluttering their wings.

She was suddenly very curious about the man's background, his stories, and... Huang Sino's face didn't move, but her eyes secretly glanced at the book on Mr. Luo's desk.

She had been sitting here for a while, and Mr. Luo had indeed been reading, but why hadn't he turned the page? Could it be that just this one page was enough for him to read all night?

She was suddenly very curious about the content of the book, especially the page that Mr. Luo was looking at now.

Suddenly, she saw the seemingly otherworldly Mr. Luo stand up and begin to take off his clothes. He was wearing a black trench coat, similar to a uniform, which suited his temperament very well.

Huang Sino's heart beat faster.

Her last conscious thought was when Luo He started walking towards her, then she fell headlong onto the soft sofa and fell asleep.

Luo He walked to the sofa, unfolded the long trench coat draped over his arm, and covered the sleeping Huang Sino. He didn't like having direct contact with women, at least not with most women.

Especially, he didn't like making eye contact with people, because his eyes always brought him unnecessary trouble.

"Hehehe." A lewd laugh came from the wireless headset he was wearing, and Luo He immediately frowned. "Oh, our number 3 ice mountain little brother is actually taking care of a woman. Unbelievable, unbelievable, I have to tell everyone immediately, I can't keep this news to myself." The voice on the other end was a pretentious, irritating voice, but it sounded very young, like a teenager.

"I'll say it again, don't imitate number 4," Luo He said coldly, "Understood, number 13?"
