Inside the secret realm, Julian kept a close watch on Metagross and the others, as Mew had channeled most of the energy extracted from Genesect's body into Metagross.
Metagross’s level had already risen from 86 to 89—just one step away from the peak of Pseudo-Champion tier. Julian checked its status panel and saw no signs of abnormality, which finally put his mind at ease.
As for the other Steel-types like Aggron, Steelix, and Melmetal, their levels had each increased by one.
Julian had a total of nine Steel-type Pokémon: Metagross, Aggron, Lucario, Melmetal, Steelix, Aegislash, Magearna, Kartana, and Duraludon.
Genesect had now become a massive experience pack—all the energy it had painstakingly collected was being divided up by Julian's Pokémon.
And not just that—its own internal energy was rapidly draining away.
It had already cursed out Mew’s entire ancestral line, though Mew claimed to have no such ancestors.
Genesect's level had dropped from the initial 100 to 95, and as Mew continued to extract its energy, its level kept falling.
Meanwhile, Metagross had reached level 90—the peak of Pseudo-Champion tier.
Now Julian was starting to feel a bit nervous, after all, if Metagross leveled up one more time, it would become a Champion-level Pokémon, joining the ranks of the strongest Pokémon just below the First-class Legendaries.
And with Metagross’ solid foundation, even as a newly advanced Champion, it wouldn’t be at much of a disadvantage against late-stage Champion Pokémon.
Feeling its strength getting weaker and weaker, Genesect stopped cursing Mew and began to plead instead: "Mew, stop! I promise I’ll never absorb the secret realm’s energy again!"
But Mew turned a deaf ear, pretending not to hear.
Honestly, absorbing the secret realm’s energy in itself wasn’t the issue—but Genesect had gone too far. It had tried to drain the entire secret realm and destroy it completely.
And this wasn’t just any realm—it was a Top-tier secret realm.
If it had been a Beginner- or Intermediate-level one, even if Mew discovered it, it likely wouldn’t have bothered to interfere.
But Genesect had terribly bad luck. The one sent to deal with this Top-tier secret realm was Julian, and Mew happened to visit Julian at just the right time to catch Genesect in the act.
So, it was simply bad fate—two coincidences colliding, sealing its end.
Now, with Mew directly intervening, Genesect had become nothing more than an experience pack for Julian’s nine Steel-type Pokémon.
Crack!
A sound like a shackle breaking echoed within Metagross’s body. It was obviously an illusory sound, but Julian seemed to have heard it as clearly as if it was real.
"It broke through…" Julian muttered.
As his words fell, Metagross's Champion-level aura erupted instantly—but just as quickly, it reined it in.

Metagross had reached early-stage Champion level. Not only that, its potential had fully turned Gold. Although Gold had already dominated most of its potential before, it still retained traces of Purple.
Now, with Metagross breaking through to the Champion tier, its potential had become entirely Gold, and the role of the Blood of the Gods in this transformation had been enormous.
Julian looked at Mew. If not for the fact that it was still extracting energy from Genesect, he would have already grabbed the little creature and planted a couple of kisses on it.
He had only met Mew twice, but each time, it had brought him tremendous benefits.
The first time, it gave him a pile of treasures, including seven Ultimate treasures. And this time, it had directly helped Metagross break through to the Champion tier ahead of schedule.
Given Metagross's current foundation, if it hadn’t been for this opportunity, reaching the Champion tier would have taken at least a year or more.
When Genesect's level dropped to 92, Mew finally stopped.
Genesect shot them both a venomous glare, then quickly turned and fled.
It still had rationality left—though it wanted nothing more than to tear Mew apart, it knew full well it wasn’t a match. So, without hesitation, it chose to leave.
Mew didn’t bother to stop it. After all, Genesect had already been punished.
And because it had been violently drained of its energy by Mew, unless another First-class Legendary intervened, Genesect’s level would remain stuck at 92 forever, never to break through again.
At that level, as long as Genesect didn't actively seek trouble, it could still live on just fine.
Aside from Metagross reaching level 91 (early-stage Champion), the other eight Pokémon had also gained some levels:
- Aggron: Lv.85
- Lucario: Lv.80
- Melmetal: Lv.81
- Steelix: Lv.80
- Aegislash: Lv.72
- Magearna: Lv.63
- Kartana: Lv.82
- Duraludon: Lv.75
Julian now had one early-stage Champion and five Pseudo-Champion level Pokémon. His overall strength had taken a massive leap forward.
Mew floated toward him, only to be scooped up into Julian’s arms. Before Mew could process what was happening, Julian planted a firm kiss on it.
Surprisingly, it even smelled sweet.
Mew: 'I’m no longer pure…'
"Mew, whenever you run out of Pokéblocks, just come find me. I may not have much else, but I’ll always have more than enough Pokéblocks for you," Julian declared, thumping his chest with confidence.
Mew had been so incredibly good to him—how could he be stingy? He immediately purchased another ten boxes of Mew's exclusive Pokéblocks from the system shop.
What were a few points compared to the gains his Pokémon had made?
Even now, it felt surreal to Julian. He had come here to handle a secret realm riot, and somehow—just like that—he had ended up becoming a Champion.
A 22-year-old Champion—not too shabby.
"Mew~"
Mew swayed its long tail, eyes curved into happy crescents as it gladly accepted the ten boxes of Pokéblocks. They were truly delicious.
Moreover, the more it ate them, the more it felt like… they might even help it grow stronger.
Considering Mew was a First-Class Legendary, that was no small thing. For a Pokémon at its level, gaining a single level could take centuries, even millennia.
That was why most First-Class Legendaries chose to sleep—passing their endless lives in slumber and incidentally leveling up along the way.
