Chapter 763: Utterly Unreasonable

"I—! Stop! Mew, help out!

Just as Blaziken and Charizard were about to Self-Destruct to take down Genesect with them, Julian, Metagross, and Mew appeared from the secret realm’s gate.

What they saw was exactly this scene. Shocked, Julian urgently asked Mew for help.

By this point, Blaziken and Charizard's Self-Destruct had already reached its final stage and could no longer be stopped—it wasn't something they could halt at will.

Julian had no way to prevent it, and the only one capable of doing so here was Mew.

"Mew~"

Fortunately, Mew was willing to lend a hand. For Julian, the human who had given it delicious food, it operated on the principle of helping whenever possible.

With a gentle tap of its small paw on Blaziken and Charizard, their bodies, which were on the verge of exploding, suddenly turned into duds. The destructive energy within them vanished instantly.

Sensing that there were other humans nearby, Mew didn’t want to stay long. Turning to Julian, it said: "I’m leaving now. I’ll come play with you another time."

Julian was reluctant to see such a reliable ally go, but he couldn’t stop it either. He nodded and said, "Next time, I’ll have Slowking make some delicious food for you."

Mew smiled, nodded back, and vanished on the spot.

With Blaziken and Charizard’s Self-Destructs halted by Mew, Genesect immediately knocked them down.

Omar, seeing that his Pokémon’s Self-Destruct had failed, breathed a sigh of relief but quickly grew tense again.

Although Julian was powerful, he might not be a match for Genesect.

Just now, they had only caught it off guard with a desperate attempt at Self-Destruct. Now, even if they tried it again, unless Genesect had lost its mind, it would never work.

Julian walked up to Omar and said calmly, "Don’t worry, leave this guy to me."

"Julian… that Pokémon just now, who was it?" Omar asked.

He had, of course, seen Mew, and the fact that it had casually interrupted Blaziken and Charizard’s Self-Destruct was something no ordinary Pokémon could ever do.

"My friend, a First-class Legendary," Julian replied casually.

He saw no reason to hide it. Since Omar had already seen it, he might as well explain, though he didn’t mention Mew by name.

Omar: ⊙0⊙

---

Meanwhile, the Pannar government, watching via satellite as their champion was about to perish together with the unknown Pokémon, felt deep sorrow.

Their country had only one Champion. If Omar were to die, Pannar would be as if it had lost an arm. Though with their big brother, Drakoria, watching over them, they wouldn’t be bullied outright—but they would completely lose their voice on the world stage.

A country without a Champion had no right to speak.

However, at the last moment, Julian and an unfamiliar Pokémon appeared. That unfamiliar Pokémon miraculously stopped Blaziken and Charizard’s impending Self-Destruct, and then vanished without a trace.

Their Champion was still alive—the Pannar government breathed a sigh of relief.

Meanwhile, Ambassador David, who had already evacuated to a safe place, suddenly received word from Pannar that Julian had emerged from the secret realm with a mysterious Pokémon by his side.

David hesitated for a moment, then gritted his teeth and flew back.

As a fellow Drakorian and the ambassador, he couldn’t let Julian face that unfamiliar Pokémon alone. Moreover, his intuition told him that the mysterious Pokémon by Julian’s side was anything but ordinary.

Otherwise, how could it have so effortlessly halted Blaziken and Charizard’s Self-Destruct with just a light tap? That was way too absurd!

---

Meanwhile, Genesect’s eyes burned with murderous fury as it stared at Julian and Metagross—most of its energy had been absorbed by this Metagross.

With Mew now gone, what was there to fear?

Killing intent surged toward Julian—only to be cut off by Metagross, which floated calmly in front of its trainer.

Thanks to the Seven-Aperture Stone, Julian had gained the ability to communicate with all things—a power even more formidable than Aura.

Earlier, inside the secret realm, he could sense the thoughts of flowers, grass, and trees. Now, he could naturally sense Genesect’s thoughts as well.

Aside from its desire to kill him, what he felt most was… grievance and resentment.

Thinking about it, it made sense. Originally it had been a level 100 apex predator—a true powerhouse. But because of Mew, its level had been reduced to 92.

All the energy it had accumulated had become nothing more than a gift for Julian’s Pokémon.

Of course it was bitter. If Julian was in its place, he too would want to kill the one responsible.

"Julian, this one’s really hard to deal with. And your friend… just left?" collided with a deafening crash that reverberated across the battlefield and a shockwave erupted outward.

But before it could hit Julian, a massive figure appeared in front of him. Aggron effortlessly blocked the shockwave.

"Champion?!"

Omar’s eyes widened. Only now did he realize that Julian’s Metagross was no longer a Pseudo-Champion. The aura it radiated was unmistakably that of a Champion.

Seeing the shocked expression on Omar's face, Julian replied calmly, "I had a bit of an… extraordinary encounter inside. Metagross broke through to Champion-level."

If not for his self-restraint, Omar would have cursed out loud on the spot.

What kind of nonsense was this?

That Top-tier secret realm had existed for decades. Not only had he himself ventured inside multiple times, but other trainers had as well—even Drakoria's Elites and Pseudo-Champions had explored it numerous times.

How come none of them had encountered such an "extraordinary encounter"?

And yet, Julian, on his first entry, stumbled upon it?

Moreover, Metagross's strength had previously been at mid-stage Pseudo-Champion level—it hadn't even reached the peak.

But after just over half a month inside, its strength had soared from mid-stage Pseudo-Champion to early-stage Champion, skipping both late and peak Pseudo-Champion stages entirely.

And without so much as a hint of a bottleneck.

Even a Pokémon with Purple-grade potential would take years to advance from peak Pseudo-Champion to Champion-level.

But Julian's Metagross had accomplished it in just a few days.

It was absurd. Outrageous. Utterly unreasonable.

At this moment, Omar felt as if he had lived all his years in vain.

Julian rubbed his nose, sensing that his casual words had struck the Champion of Pannar harder than he expected.
