Chapter 985 Stepping on Buddha's Light, Karmic Warning
The Buddha's light flowed, clear and serene.
Buddhism mainly seeks emptiness and seeing one's nature, observing all phenomena in the world, and various dharma methods. Seeing the forms of sentient beings, seeing the forms of heaven and earth, seeing that all forms are not forms, one can see oneself. If an ordinary monk were to say this, it would undoubtedly be bullshit!
But for someone who has truly walked ten thousand miles, seen the world, and seen all living beings,
and ultimately founded a school, for Xuanzang, who spent years with the ancient Buddha and has seen good and evil, this sentence is no longer empty talk. The pure Buddhist principles, or more importantly, the Buddhist power specifically aimed at illuminating the mind and seeing one's nature, helped Jue briefly suppress the distortion of the turbid qi on her self.
"Xuanzang… you, you're not…"
Jue rubbed her brow, asking in disbelief.
"Amitabha, Xuanzang has naturally passed away. What you see is just the last bit of his thought."
Xuanzang lowered his eyes and smiled, pointing to the pagoda of the Da Ci'en Temple. His cranial relic is there.
The monk turned around, signaling the girl to follow. He seemed to ride the wind, following behind the monk in gray robes. Xuanzang's feet seemed to be walking on clouds, separating the cold aura. He walked forward and said, "When I first saw you, this old monk couldn't see your origins or your background. I only thought of you as a rather arrogant thief back then."
"Later, my cultivation gradually increased, and I was finally able to see a little."
"Of course, at that time, I could only vaguely see that you were not an ordinary person, surrounded by pure qi."
"But who would have thought that you would come from later generations?"
Xuanzang casually said this sentence.
Jue's expression changed slightly.
The monk laughed and said, "I've wanted to say that to you for a long time. I really startled you."
"Hahahaha."
"However, the reason why this old monk can see your origins is not entirely due to my cultivation."
"It's because benefactor Gengchen once brought a rubbing of the Hetu Luoshu, which recorded the so-called great calamity of the world. It was also because of the scenes seen in the Hetu Luoshu that Yuan decided to follow Gengchen to Kunlun Mountain and finally send him to reincarnation..." What Xuanzang said was exactly what happened when the Divine General Gengchen first appeared before them.
"Yuan saw a scene of the destruction of all things in it."
The monk smiled and said, "Yuan's strength in that scene far exceeded this old monk's understanding. Even the legendary gods and Buddhas appearing together would probably be nothing more than that. And at that time, the weapon he used was not a sword."
"But a battle-axe."
"The handle of the battle-axe seemed to be formed by a magic weapon similar to a war flag."
"And another thing that appeared in that scene was your death."
Xuanzang stopped and looked at Jue, saying, "Back then, Yuan and Gengchen valued the destruction itself more, and so did I. But later, I suddenly thought that the falling of a leaf heralds autumn, and the appearance of certain things may also be a sign of triggering this great calamity. Therefore, this old monk left some backup plans."
"If the great calamity comes, perhaps it can provide some protection."
"This is for the greater good."
Jue said, "So, this wisp of your divine thought was originally meant to deal with the great calamity, for me? That's such a waste."
The monk put his palms together in front of his chest and laughed, "That's wrong. What was left for all living beings was power, which has not been used."
"And this little bit of thought of this old monk is precisely for you."
Xuanzang put his hands together and said, "If you die, the pain for Yuan is no different from the destruction of the world."
"As an older brother, isn't it natural to save his younger brother from a great calamity?"
"If I can save you, then I will have saved another person."
Jue said, "This..."
Xuanzang smiled and comforted her, "Just think of it as me deliberately keeping a little selfishness in order to save Yuan's world."
The Celestial Woman said, "Does the Mahayana also have selfishness?"
Xuanzang said, "The Mahayana does not have selfishness, nor does the Buddha." "Because that is a perfect image that countless believers and people have imagined."
"Naturally, it is tall, wise, intelligent, and without flaws or mistakes."
"But Tang Xuanzang does, and Sakyamuni also does, because Xuanzang is just a mortal with flesh and blood, with family and country, an ordinary person. How could an ordinary person not have selfishness? Were you about to persuade me to keep the power to deal with the great calamity and not spend it on your affairs? The pure qi of heaven, a selfless state of mind, is good in itself, but it lacks a trace of obsession."
The old monk smiled and said, "How can a person be without selfishness?"
"You, your immortal qi is too heavy, like a gust of wind, light and飘飘, as if you're about to leave immediately."
"This is not good. It doesn't hurt to strive for things."
Jue looked at the bustling Chang'an City and said, "Does Buddhism also strive?"
Xuanzang said, "Buddhism and Taoism are just looking for a concept to solve life and death, to solve the world. Taoism seeks freedom, and Buddhism seeks emptiness. But in fact, they still have to compete. When competing, they must not have attachments. Otherwise, they will only know how to fight and forget themselves. And if they have never entered the world to compete, and then they say they want to let go, to transcend, to be pure and free, to be free and unrestrained, is that freedom?"
"This old monk thinks that you can still strive for it."
He raised his palm slightly, the flowing Buddha light serene, his voice gentle, "Your cultivation and power are actually already above mine."
"All I can do is leave you a little reminder, leave you a little opportunity. Remember not to be obsessed with external appearances, and maintain your original intention."
"Your power is wind?"
Xuanzang smiled and said, "A mind like a long wind is not as good as a mind like the long sky."
He pointed to the sky, pointing to the heavy clouds, and said, "Pure qi and turbid qi are just clouds in the sky.
Sometimes there are thousands of miles of white clouds, sometimes dark clouds press down on the city, and occasionally there are auspicious clouds stretching endlessly."
"But the long sky is still the long sky."
"It will not change in the slightest because it is white clouds or dark clouds. In any case, these things are your power. Go and control them, and don't be disturbed and influenced in the opposite direction. Of course, the gathering and scattering of clouds will bring rain, wind, and thunder. These are all normal things, but your original intention cannot be shaken."
The monk spoke gently and held out his hand.
A golden pattern was left in Jue's palm with the aura of Buddhism.
Xuanzang saw that the girl's aura gradually returned to its original calmness and serenity. He put his hands together, looked at the prosperous city of the Kaiyuan era, and sighed, "Chang'an City is still the same as always."
Jue returned the greeting and said, "Thank you, Master, for your help."
Tang Xuanzang shook his head and smiled gently, "At the end, why not call me as Yuan does."
Jue paused.
She clasped her hands in salute and said, "Thank you, Big Brother."
The monk nodded with a smile, thought for a while, pointed in a direction, and said peacefully, "The Buddhist aura can only suppress it for a while."
"You should go in this direction and continue."
"Whether you can suppress the turbid qi and maintain your self, your fate and tribulation should be there."
Then he turned his head, looked at the last glorious prosperous age of the Great Tang, the backup plans left in the Da Ci'en Temple still existed. Only when the real crisis came could they erupt. At this moment, he just looked calmly at the country where he was born and raised, closed his eyes, and when his hands were put together, his figure was like a dream bubble, disappearing.
Jue steadied herself and bowed again in the direction where Xuanzang had disappeared.
Immediately, she recognized the direction that Xuanzang had just pointed out, controlled the flowing wind, and while her sanity was still clear, went with all her strength. The speed of the wind was far from what it used to be. In just an instant, she had crossed an extremely long distance. After leaving Chang'an City, Jue felt that her self-awareness was once again being impacted by the turbid world.
But now she could still control it.
Unlike before, when she forcibly resisted it, causing internal consumption of her divine soul.
Riding the long wind all the way, passing over mountains and rivers, when her divine soul once again sensed the turbid aura unwilling to counterattack, Jue suddenly noticed the sound of roaring waves like thunder in her ears. She had come to a big river. After a little identification, she immediately recognized that this was the Huai River, one of the four great rivers.
The territory of Wuzhiqi, the Huai River Calamity Lord.
Looking further ahead, she happened to see a tall monk walking slowly, followed by a young novice.
The tall monk said slowly, "Is this the Huai River?"
"Sure enough, as I expected, the gods here are all asleep, but there are still sacrifices and offerings to them around. I should rectify this and guide the power of the sacrifices to the Huai River Calamity Lord Wuzhiqi into my body, reshape my golden body, and step into the realm of the Buddha..."
The young novice was still a little hesitant and said, "Master, is it not very good to do this?"
The tall monk said, "Humph, there is nothing not good about it."
"Back then, didn't that Tang Xuanzang overturn the entire Buddhist kingdom by himself? How many relics did he get from debating the scriptures and Buddhism alone?"
"If it weren't for that, how could there be so many Buddha relics in this Central Earth Tang Dynasty?!"
Speaking of this, the tall monk gnashed his teeth.
Obviously extremely unwilling.
He said, "Since he can take the relics of Buddha Sakyamuni, why can't this old monk take the incense of the Huai River Calamity Lord?"
"Moreover, this is a wonderful method that this old monk learned from a god, so what's wrong?"
The young novice wanted to retort that this was the custom of the past. Debating scriptures was equivalent to the collision of great paths. Those who lost even committed suicide. Xuanzang obtained the relics openly and fairly according to the customs of the past, but you are secretly deceiving others and guiding the incense.
Especially seeing the enthusiasm of the villagers leading the way next to him, and thinking of the villagers' warm hospitality during this time, he felt even more unbearable.
However, the great monk named Sengqie could not resist himself.
At this moment, the tall monk looked solemn and said, "Amitabha, there is indeed a calamity here. It is an ancient giant ape that seems to be about to cause trouble. I am afraid there is a great crisis." The villagers were stunned and could not believe that there would be a disaster, but this monk had already shown great supernatural powers before.
He hurriedly said, "I don't know what to do?"
"Although our village is poor, we can still raise a lot of money."
Who knew that the monk would look solemn and say, "This old monk doesn't want your money."
"I just want you all to see that the Buddha's law is boundless."
Only when everyone saw the scene of the Buddha's law subduing the demon monkey could they draw incense and eat the incense of the Huai River Calamity Lord, shaping their own Buddhist golden body.
Heh... for the sake of his disciple's cultivation.
Ancestor, I will borrow your name. Borrow your name to absorb the power of that water monkey and achieve my external golden body.
This monk did not want money, which surprised the villagers. Seeing the raging waves, they quickly asked, "Who is it? Who has such great power?" Sengqie put his hands together solemnly and said, "Amitabha."
"It is the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara of the South Sea."
Everyone exclaimed in surprise.
As soon as the words fell, Sengqie was about to take action and show off in front of everyone.
Suddenly, he felt something was wrong.
He sensed that the pure and incomparable Buddhist flowing light instantly neutralized his methods. Even the deliberately stirred-up waves were smoothed out by the flowing wind.
Then, the sound of Zen chanting echoed endlessly. Sengqie, who intended to contaminate Wuzhiqi's foundation, suddenly changed his expression. The Buddhist aura clashed, and in an instant, the prayer beads broke inch by inch!
Sengqie retreated, coughing up blood.
Everyone looked up and exclaimed.
"That, that is!"
"It's really showing its power, it's showing its power!"
Everyone bowed down, but they were held up by the long wind and could not bow down. They were even more excited by this change.
The vast sky had been completely covered by pale golden light. Auspicious clouds filled the sky above. Then, golden Buddha light flowed, clear and bright. Black hair fell down, a clear and beautiful face, an unparalleled girl stepped on the long sky.
Golden lotuses bloomed with every step, her sleeves swept slightly, and she arrived gracefully.
Her eyes were deep and her expression was indifferent.
The grandeur of the Buddha's light was far from what Sengqie could compare to.
Sengqie spat out blood and said in disbelief, muttering:
"South Sea..."
"Avalokitesvara?"
At this moment--
The Age of Gods, South Sea!
"In short, this thing is still delicious."
"Cough cough, although it can't compare to what I made myself, of course, this is also very good food."
Wei Yuan smiled and picked up his chopsticks.
Chopsticks were also invented during the Yu the Great period, because Yu the Great would get beaten if he reached out to grab the meat, but he couldn't help but eat it as soon as it came out of the pot.
So, Yu the Great, who was eventually forced into a corner, chose to cut off tree branches and use them to pick up the food.
Chopsticks came into being.
He first handed a pair to the white-haired girl.
Then, when he picked up the chopsticks himself, his movements suddenly paused slightly.
The bamboo chopsticks in his hand shattered, and one of them actually pierced his finger. The girl in white said, "So careless... does it hurt?"
The Taoist looked at the drop of blood oozing from the tip of his finger, but his movements were slightly stagnant.
Yuanshi Tianzun would be injured by a wooden splinter?
Impossible.
Unless...
The Taoist's expression changed slightly, and he understood.
"...No."
"Someone is in trouble!"
ps: Today's second update...........
The early events of the Great Tang monk Sengqie crossing the Huai River to the east and then guiding away the water monkey Huai River incense, I don't know if everyone still has any impression.
Gengchen met and gave the Hetu Luoshu rubbing, and the great calamity in the human world is in chapter 460
It was Yuan seeing Jue die and holding a battle axe.
Battle-axe (Heaven's Clear Qi + Xuan Black Turbid World Flag)
