Chapter 799: 730 “There, there, sister was just trying to scare you.”

Chapter 799: 730 “There, there, sister was just trying to scare you.”

“Buzz!”

Accompanied by the trembling of the atmosphere, the beam of light coming from the horizon landed heavily on a plaza in Central City, causing a series of figures to appear one after the other.

“We’re here.”

Chafne stood in the middle of everyone, protected by a circle of guards.

Shane still carried Gold in his hand, casting his gaze upon the scene before him.

What caught his eye was an extremely vast plaza, along with a gigantic castle that seemed as if it were both a distant and nearby presence.

“That’s the Supreme Castle.”

Chafne directed her explanation toward Shane.

“Supreme Castle…”

Shane murmured, nodding his head.

As its name suggests, the Supreme Castle is where the Demon Clan Supreme resides.

It is located in the heart of Central City, which in turn is at the heart of the Moon Demon Territory, and the Moon Demon Territory is the center of the Demon Realm. Hence, the Supreme Castle is known as the castle standing at the very heart of the world, arguably the most famous and revered place in the entire Demon Realm.

Here, not only does the Demon Clan Supreme reside, but even three of the Demon Clan’s Limit Level powerhouses are stationed here year-round, ensuring that at least one Limit Level powerhouse remains on guard regardless of the situation.

As such, Central City is considered the safest and most bustling place in the Demon Realm, attracting countless Demon Clan powerhouses. Even members of other territories long for it, making it the most diverse city in the Demon Realm.

Even direct portals to the Human Realm and a gate to the Divine World can be found here.

After all, being the Demon Clan Supreme, Moon Demon Sela often needs to discuss certain matters with the high ranks of the Divine Race or the Human Race. All diplomatic responsibilities are also entirely under Sela’s purview, which is why her Supreme Castle specifically has passages to the other two realms.

Of course, these two passageways can only lead to fixed locations, and except for high-level communications or diplomatic use, they are not permitted to be activated on a regular basis.

Thanks to this, Sela has been able to appear in the Human Realm at will and meet with Shane multiple times, while other Demons use different passages and do not employ this one.

Because of this, the Supreme Castle holds a very special status in the Demon Realm. To say it is the administrative center of the Demon Realm, and an undeniably rightful capital, is an understatement.

Before Shane had descended, he took a glance at Central City from mid-air and realized that it was hardly different from a large city in the Human Realm. It had residential, commercial, and military districts, as well as an administrative district led by the Supreme Castle, and the layout and planning were not much different from the royal capitals and imperial cities Shane had seen.

“Okay, it feels like entering a civilized society.”

Shane expressed his feelings.

“What do you mean?” Chafne immediately narrowed her eyes and smiled, “Are you suggesting that my Enchanting Demon City is some kind of lawless wilderness?”

“I didn’t say that.” Shane spread his hands and swiftly changed the subject, “Do you often come here?”

“Not too often.” Chafne hummed, “Diplomatic affairs of the Demon Realm are generally handled by our eldest sister. The rest of us five sisters are only responsible for the management and operation of our own territories. Unless there’s something significant, we rarely gather.”

“Is that so?” Shane turned to Chafne, surprised, “So, you mean to say, the six of you sisters don’t see each other often?”

“Yes,” Chafne said matter-of-factly, “For example, Ai Yi sometimes sleeps for hundreds of years. How could we possibly meet often?”

“Uh…” Shane was genuinely surprised, “I thought that you six sisters were very close.”

“We are very close.” Chafne looked at Shane somewhat puzzled, then seemingly grasped his point, and said irritably, “What? You think just because we don’t see each other for a few centuries, our relationship fades? Don’t judge us by your human standards, okay?”

After being retorted by Chafne, Shane also came to his senses.

These Demons had existed for tens of thousands of years, with even the youngest, Ai Yi, being born ten thousand years ago—a lengthy period by any measure.

The Demon Realm itself had only appeared a thousand years ago.

Before the emergence of the Demon Realm, these Demons had been leading the Demon Clan, warring with the Divine Race and Human Race for at least several thousand years.

Compared to that period, a thousand years in the Demon Realm was hardly long at all.

Under such circumstances, it was already frequent for the Demons to meet once every several years, what then was a few centuries of not seeing each other?

Moreover, each of the Demon Sisters now had their own territory, their own realm. To put it in modern terms, they had ‘split the family’, so having their own affairs to attend to and not meeting as often as before was quite normal, wasn’t it?

But not meeting frequently did not mean that their relationships had been severed.

All in all, the relationships among the Demon Sisters were still very close. They were united enough that even occasional disputes were only minor issues.

Sometimes, the Demons would even fight each other.

Those moments could be described as earth-shattering, undoubtedly terrifying for onlookers, but perhaps just trivial play for the Demons involved, never taken seriously.

Thus, it is inappropriate to judge the relationships between these Demons by ordinary human standards.

“Recently, the six of us sisters have been gathering more frequently than before.” Chafne patted Shane’s shoulder, grinning, “Speaking of which, we should thank you, right?”

Shane pursed his lips.

He, of course, knew what Chafne meant.

She was insinuating that they had become so busy because of Shane’s affairs.

With a Hero’s appearance causing turmoil in the Demon Realm, even the Human Realm and the Divine World were becoming restless, ultimately leading to trilateral talks among the Three Clans.

Such a significant event naturally compelled the Demon Sisters to cease standing idly by, necessitating frequent gatherings for discussions, which was utterly normal.

“Let alone the fact that the Old Demon Clan Faction has been increasingly active as of late.” Chafne glanced at Gold, who Shane was holding, and said nonchalantly, “Even the actions of the Primordial Demon, who never dared to show its face in the past, have grown bolder. This time, it directly targeted me, sending a large number of troops to move in unison, which had never happened in the past millennium.”

That was why Ai Yi had to return to the Demon Realm with Lide and Milu previously to discuss this matter.

Who would have thought, before they even started the discussion, something regarding Shane would crop up?

“You are lucky, you know,” Chafne teased Shane, “Most people would find it extremely difficult to meet even one Demon, yet now you’ve had the chance to meet all six. Don’t you feel honored?”

“Honored?” Shane let out a chuckle involuntarily.

Indeed, it seemed to be an honor on the surface.

But within the Demon Sisters, hadn’t Shane pretty much met them all?

Moon Demon Sela, the eldest among the Demons, with whom Shane had already come into contact in the Human Realm.

Beast Demon Lide and Ghost Demon Milu, this pair of sisters, Shane had also encountered in the Elf Country.

Not to mention Ai Yi; had it not been for this separation, they might still be stuck together.

Adding the nearby Chafne, Shane had already met five out of the six Demon Sisters.

The only one remaining was Poison Demon Camina.

And this Demon seemed to have some issues with him.

In other words, Shane’s presence here was not just lacking in honor, but might also entail considerable trouble.

How could he not chuckle at that?

“Don’t worry,” Chafne said with a laugh, covering her mouth, “Your sisters will protect you.”

“Really?” Shane asked reflexively.

“Of course,” Chafne replied with a beaming smile, “At the very least, we won’t let you get dissolved by poison to the point where only bones are left.”

Shane didn’t want to speak to this nuisance anymore.

“Oh dear, are you upset?” Chafne extended her hand, caressing Shane’s head with a beaming smile, “There, there, your sister was just teasing you.”

The corners of Shane’s mouth twitched as he promptly swatted away Chafne’s hand.

If they hadn’t been in public, he might have even felt inclined to take direct action.

“Hehe.”

Chafne seemed to revel in seeing Shane looking like he wanted to hit someone, yet could do nothing about it, laughing merrily with delight.

Unbeknownst to them, the interactions between the two had not gone unnoticed by the three escorts.

Liel wanted to rush up and stop them but didn’t dare go against Chafne, only grinding her teeth and practicing her ‘killing glare’ skill at Shane.

Hart had stopped talking, his eyes filled with tumultuous waves as they fixed on Shane.

As for Gray, his fists remained clenched, but his expression was as unchangeable as ever.

The three could only watch from the sidelines as Shane and Chafne playfully bickered, each with their own thoughts known only to themselves.

“———!”

Suddenly, a wave of malevolent energy invaded everyone’s perception, causing the faces of all present to alter drastically.

“What is this…”

Even Chafne’s eyes shifted as she unconsciously released her magic power.

She could sense it; an aura not inferior to her own was rapidly approaching.

That aura did not belong to any of the Demon Sisters.

“Could it be…”

Chafne seemed to have guessed something, quickly containing her magic power.

“Who…!?”

Compared to Chafne, Liel, Hart, and Gray seemed like frightened birds, darting to Chafne’s side and placing themselves in front of her protectively.

Clearly, after the previous attack by the Primordial Demon, all three were on high alert, daring not to be the slightest bit negligent.

They might have been forgiven for not protecting Chafne the first time, but if the enemy managed to strike again while she was under their watch, causing Chafne to fend off the attacker herself, that would be inexcusable.

Only Shane sensed nothing but an incomparable sense of familiarity and closeness from that evil energy.

Instantly, Shane turned around, his face breaking into a look of surprise.

In the next moment, from the sky, a surge of astonishing evil energy billowed like a storm.

The magnitude was indeed shocking.
