Chapter 827: Chapter 754: A Hero Belonging Only to One Person
Nien’s identity is extremely mysterious.
The Divine Race is unaware of her existence.
The Demon Clan is also unaware of her existence.
No one in the world knows that there is such a Goddess, let alone that this Goddess is actually the massive cross-world Magic Ceremony itself named “Hero Summoning,” which wields the Summoning Authority that can not only summon heroes from the Otherworld but can also connect with them and summon them to her side at any time.
Her true origin, however, is not just the “Hero Summoning” Magic Ceremony, but also the embodiment of all of Supreme God Ominis’s obsession with the First Generation Brave.
As a result, she has just survived unbeknownst for countless years until now.
Shane looked at this Goddess with rather complex feelings, somewhat understanding.
“Do you hate Supreme God Ominis because she stuffed all the pain and despair onto you?”
Shane hesitated as he spoke these words.
But Nien shook her head.
“Although I was born from pain and sadness, she is still my Mother Goddess, and I wouldn’t resent her because of that.”
Nien said, her hand unknowingly clenched.
There was no way around it.
“What I truly cannot accept is that after the First Generation Brave died, that Goddess seemed to lose interest in everything, only thinking about revenge on the Demon King, waging war against the Demon King, without considering my thoughts at all, treating me only as a tool to summon the Brave.”
Nien’s voice gradually rose with a shake.
“Can you imagine what it’s like to have never seen your Mother Goddess since birth, only to be thrown into the corner of the world like a tool, lost and unnoticed for countless years?”
“Can you imagine how it feels whenever someone with hero potential appears in the Otherworld, needing my power, yet completely ignoring my thoughts, forcibly unfolding the magic techniques within me and handing me over to the Goddesses of the Divine Race for summoning, while I can’t even participate in it at all?”
“I haven’t even seen the Mother Goddess again, since birth just staying lonely in the corner of the world, every time my power is needed, forcibly reverted back to my ceremony form by an overwhelming force from the sky, unable to utter a word, not even seeing that Goddess, just being used by the Goddesses of the Divine Race to summon heroes, unaware of my existence.”
“And after the summoning, the hero is taken away by the Goddesses of the Divine Race, the power acting upon me disappears, and I’m abandoned there as if I lost my use, continuing to be alone.”
“Always…”
While speaking, Nien couldn’t help but bite her lip.
“The most hateful thing is, after the war, the Divine Race no longer needed heroes, so guess what happened to me?”
“I was sealed!”
“Without even time to react, I was forcibly transferred to the edge of the Divine World and sealed here!”
Nien began to stir up waves of power.
“From that moment on, I knew my usefulness was over, from now on being completely abandoned here, with no one paying attention, no one caring.”
“I would stay in this Temple alone forever, until the world’s end.”
“How could I not hate her for this?”
Nien’s voice gradually filled with intense hatred.
The hatred left Shane silent once more.
Yet, the hatred came quickly and went just as quickly.
By the time Shane reacted, Nien was already in front of him, looking at him intensely.
“Haven’t you always been wondering why I summoned you?”
Nien reached out and caressed Shane’s face.
Shane didn’t know how to respond.
He indeed had been wondering about this.
Although Nien once said she summoned Shane because the “Primordial Demon” acted against nature, attempting to create the Seventh Demon, creating a second Demon King.
Thus, to prevent the birth of the Demon King, she chose to summon a hero.
But the reason was untenable from the start.
Shane already knew, it was impossible for the world to have a second Demon King’s birth; although demons are the existence closest to the Demon King, theoretically able to grow to the level of Demon King, that ultimately is just theory.
The truth is, there are not enough conditions in this world to facilitate the birth of a second Demon King.
There is only one Demon King, and there will only ever be one.
The “Primordial Demon” can at most be capable of creating a Demon, but impossible to create a Demon King.
While a Demon is indeed quite fearsome in this world, what can it really stir up?
The Divine Race has Three Great Goddesses, the Justice Goddess, the strongest Evil God, and the Three Goddesses of Time and Space.
The Demon Clan has a full six demons, each able to handle him.
There are over ten Transcendent Level Existences guarding, among them Fate Goddess Lidas and Moon Demon Sela who can exert power beyond the demons; just one demon, what can it really do to this world?
Even if it brings harm, it can’t possibly be more dangerous than the former Demon King, right?
Under such circumstances, Nien had no need to risk breaking the peace of the Three clans, once again conducting hero summoning.
Yet she did precisely that.
The reason was simple.
“I am the Goddess who wields the summoning authority, the magic technique itself that summons heroes.”
“If the meaning of my existence is to summon heroes and I can’t do anything else, then no matter what, I want to conduct a summoning based on my own will once.”
“Not forced to execute a summoning, but a summoning decided by myself.”
“The result was, after accumulating magic power for a whole millennium, I finally gathered the basic conditions to summon and brought you into this world.”
Nien stared straight at Shane, her gaze becoming increasingly intense, even a sense of possession began to grow.
“At first, I was afraid, afraid that after finally being able to perform the summoning, the Otherworld would no longer birth anyone with the qualifications of a Hero.”
“Luckily, in the end, you appeared.”
So, Shane is the Hero belonging solely to Nien.
The Hero not awaited by anyone, nor needed by the world, summoned only because of the Goddess with a life filled with grief.
“Although I never expected that this final summoning would cause such unforeseen circumstances, no matter what, you are the existence I’ve pursued for a thousand years, and that will never change.”
Nien spoke in an inexplicable tone, uttering words Shane couldn’t understand, yet with such persistence.
“No matter what others say, regardless of the truth, you are a Hero.”
“My Hero alone.”
“No one can doubt this.”
At this point, Nien’s voice even carried a pathological fervor.
Under normal circumstances, Shane would definitely want to retreat and keep a respectful distance.
But at this moment, Shane felt compassionate.
The reason was simple; he clearly understood why Nien had become this way.
The fundamental reasons she summoned him were twofold.
One was her desire to truly realize the significance of her existence.
The other was that she had been lonely and isolated for far too long and genuinely couldn’t take it anymore, needing someone to find her, accompany her, see her.
And that person was the Hero she wanted to summon.
Shane was that existence.
Pursued for a thousand years?
No, it wasn’t.
If this Goddess truly had always been alone, then her sought companion had been delayed by at least ten thousand years, possibly even tens of thousands, or hundreds of thousands of years.
In charge of summoning, the Goddess capable of summoning others, her life had been almost entirely solitary.
It must be said, this was truly quite ironic.
“Sigh…”
Shane could only heave a sigh, unable to say anything else.
As for Nien, she returned to her original demeanor.
“Feeling a lot of pressure, huh?” Nien said with a bright smile, “Don’t worry, I won’t do anything to you.”
Saying this, the way Nien looked at Shane made him feel even more stressed.
The gaze seemed like she wanted to swallow Shane whole, contradicting her statement about not doing anything to him.
But Shane was more concerned about another matter.
“What’s the reason you suddenly called me here?” Shane asked with a hint of puzzlement, “Didn’t you wish to hide your existence? Why risk exposure to drag me over here this time?”
Upon hearing this, Nien paused her actions briefly, then inconspicuously resumed.
“Dodging further is futile, that Moon Demon has somewhat noticed the anomaly, detected my presence. Last time, a stray cat broke in here and guessed my identity, my existence being exposed is merely a matter of time.”
Nien said so.
“Since that’s the case, let me see if the Demon King’s daughter can find her way to me and meet with me.”
Nien showed an excited smile.
The expression was like she found new amusement, somewhat resembling Chafne.
Unfortunately, Shane wasn’t sidetracked by the topic.
“You haven’t answered my question, have you?”
Shane squinted his eyes.
“That’s not important.” Nien seemed displeased, “What’s important is, you’re already here, do you only want to ask these boring questions?”
Due to the investigation by Sela and Anima, Nien reluctantly severed connections with Shane for a while.
This time, unable to contain herself, exposing her existence, Nien decided to take a risk.
“What do you want to do?”
Shane’s expression was complex.
Because he had a hunch.
Not the ominous premonition like before, but somehow a feeling that something worth celebrating was about to happen.
Nien smiled at Shane.
Smiled alluringly.
“Come, I’ll show you something.”
Nien grabbed Shane’s hand and, with a smile, pulled him into a room nearby.
“This…this is…!?”
Before long, Shane’s voice echoed throughout the Temple.
“Oh oh…oh oh oh oh oh…!”
Calls filled with emotion and excitement rang out continuously.
This night, Shane experienced the greatest joy since he arrived in this world.
