The Descent of Magic has signed a publishing deal.

The Descent of Magic has signed a simplified Chinese publishing contract with Chasing Dreamer Publishing House.

If everything goes smoothly, the physical book should be on shelves in about two months, and then in everyone's hands.

Well, the published title is still The Descent of Magic, not The Yan War Chronicles, listen up!

The published version will basically maintain the original flavor, so everyone can rest assured.

The only pity is that comments cannot be printed, but the physical book is more meaningful for collection and filling bookshelves.

I took some time off to gather material, which delayed the updates.

I saw some book friends in the comments section angry at Long for not being ambitious: I look down on you for being so unambitious. If your updates weren't so bad, this book's ranking would definitely be higher.

Long sees this as encouragement, but Long still wants to say that The Descent of Magic is now 3.14 million words long. After a book gets this long, it encounters a problem:

If you want to pad it out, it's very easy to do so, because everyone has reading inertia and will continue to subscribe and read until they can't stand it anymore and give up. Then I, the author, can wipe my mouth when I see the subscription numbers decline and prepare a new book.

If you don't want to pad it out and still want to write something interesting, so that everyone enjoys reading it and sometimes smiles knowingly, the difficulty is actually much, much greater than writing the early stages, because there are so many things you have to consider and weigh. It's like building blocks, the higher you go, the more risky it is to put down each block.

So, I'll say it again,

I'm very happy writing this book.

I will try my best to update as much as possible within the limits of my ability and energy, but if I really need to stop because I'm stuck or have something to do, I will still take a leave of absence.

It's not easy to pile the blocks so high, I want to cherish it.

In previous works, when I wrote to this many words, I was already thinking about how to end it, but with this book, I still have a great passion for it.

Regarding the subsequent publication, I will continue to liaise with the publisher and inform everyone of the progress.

Finally,

I still have to thank everyone for your support.

From the beginning, The Descent of Magic was not a book that pursued commercial success. I knew what kind of subject matter and how to start it in order to achieve better results, but I still stepped on the brakes myself.

Because I have been thinking about a question, that is, how to combine writing happily and achieving good results.

I want to write happily, enjoy myself, and also want the market feedback to be very good, and the results to be high.

People are greedy, they want both the fish and the bear's paw.

So, The Descent of Magic is an experimental field, and I need to constantly try, constantly temper and use previous writing techniques and new insights, mainly to improve my writing level.

Returning to the question above,

How to get both the fish and the bear's paw?

I think the answer is:

Be yourself.

What if the results are not ideal after being yourself?

That means you're just not good enough.
