About Some Things

The Descent of Magic has reached 4.5 million words.

The first chapter was published on October 15, 2019.

I said before that I wrote The Descent of Magic as I pleased. Actually, my original expectation was that even if the results were a little worse, it would be fine as long as I was comfortable, so I expected it to be 2.5 million words, and it would not exceed 3 million words.

One reason is that I have always maintained my creative enthusiasm for this book, and the second is that I found that there are actually quite a few readers with vision and taste.

Therefore, even the current number of words has exceeded the expected length by a lot.

The Descent of Magic is the work with the most words I have written since entering the industry.

The problem now is that, in fact, I have been able to feel it very clearly since the end of last year, and that is fatigue. It is not fatigue with creative enthusiasm, nor fatigue with the plot. Even if I get stuck sometimes, or need to sort out my thoughts, I can actually write it through. After all, I have shaped a lot of characters and spread the stall very wide, so there is a lot of space when writing stories.

It is mainly my physical and mental fatigue.

From the initial Terror Web Novel to Terror Radio, and then to He Came From Hell and Midnight Bookstore, the books were opened seamlessly.

After Midnight Bookstore was finished, I didn't really rest much, and immediately opened The Descent of Magic.

Except when something happened at home, I basically maintained the rhythm of coding every day. Occasionally, I would ask for leave due to "poor thinking" or "writer's block," but in fact, I had been sitting in front of the computer for a long time before typing the leave request. It seems that I have never had a vacation of more than two days.

And since The Descent of Magic, I have become more and more accustomed to and addicted to the way of "emotional" writing. Before coding, I first adjust my state and mentality. When writing stories, I need to pour my emotions into it. In many cases, the framework and routine of the story are not useless, but basically, emotions come first.

This creative method is really draining for the author. After years of accumulation, fatigue begins to accumulate continuously. Every day I open my eyes, it is like the battery level of my mobile phone is red, prompting less than 20%. Then I plug in the power supply and charge while using it. Basically, it has always been in a relatively low stage.

In the past, I always refused video interviews. Every time the editor asked me for photos, I was very entangled, and I always felt that it would cause aluminum fans to unsubscribe.

In the last Easter egg chapter, many readers left messages saying that I should pay more attention to rest and exercise. I was very touched when I saw it.

In short, my current state makes it difficult to support the high-frequency update of 10,000 words per day. Maybe my state will be good for a while and I will write more, and then I will immediately feel listless again. I feel like a fish thrown on the shore to bask in the sun, jumping there "slap, slap".

But I don't want to give up this book. I have considered taking a long vacation and simply going out to rest for a month or two, but after getting out of the coding state and rhythm, it is difficult to continue the same feeling; it is like writing extras and writing the main text, the feeling is different.

So, next, I will try to maintain one update every day, and keep updating. The number of words in each update is also more than 5,000 words. If there is no "there will be more tonight" at the end of the chapter, then there will be no more. If it is added, it proves that my state is good today and I can write a little more.

Please understand.

Then, one more thing: Volume 3 of The Descent of Magic is also on the market.

Search China Business Books Flagship Store. Tmall, Dangdang, and Jingdong all major websites can buy it.

The content of the third volume goes to the meteor falling from the sky, before "Princess Zheng" prepares to sneak into the Chu Kingdom.

I saw everyone's feedback before. This time, I added a poster: outside Xuehai Pass, the white-clothed Sword Saint, cutting down a thousand riders with one sword.

Um,

Actually, there is nothing seriously wrong with my body, I'm just tired. I feel like I'm in a state of deep fatigue, and I'm trying my best to adjust myself.

Then, let's finish the story of The Descent of Magic together.

Don't panic,

Hold on tight everyone!
