Chapter 694: Chapter 695 Discussing Where to Go

Dou Dou’s identity had been confirmed.

He was indeed the son of the Crown Prince.

In the living room, only the Royal Family of three remained, while Nian Shutong and Ji Sisi had taken Dou Dou upstairs.

The Empress glanced towards the direction of the stairs, withdrew her gaze, and turned to the Crown Prince, asking, "What are your thoughts and plans?"

The Crown Prince had already calmed his emotions and said very calmly, "If he’s my son, then he’s my son; there’s nothing to plan."

The Empress understood the Crown Prince’s thoughts, which were to acknowledge Dou Dou’s identity as the legitimate third generation of the Royal Family.

"And what about the child’s mother?"

The Empress thought further, considering that a child still needed both parents to fare better.

The Crown Prince, thinking of Ji Sisi whom he had just met, said calmly, "I am willing to interact, but not to force anything, and Ji Sisi probably doesn’t have such thoughts either."

"Mother, I understand your concerns, but we are still Dou Dou’s parents. That will not change. Parents who stay together out of obligation do not necessarily benefit the child."

The Crown Prince’s words were also understood by the Empress, but she still continued to ask, "What if you meet your true love? What then of Dou Dou’s place?"

"If it’s ungiven, don’t give it from the start."

The Empress had already grown fond of Dou Dou, even before he was confirmed as her grandson, and she did not want to see him hurt because of a change in identity.

"Mother, you should know your son; the likelihood of me falling for someone is very low."

"I know."

Looking at the Empress who was about to say more, the Crown Prince quickly said, "I can assure Dou Dou’s position as the Imperial Grandson. If he proves capable of becoming a king in the future, then he will be the successor. If not, you’ll just have to wait for Xia Tian to have another child."

The Empress sighed, conceding for the moment.

The Emperor, noticing the sighing Empress, took her hand and said, "Why the sighs? You have a grandson."

"Nonsense! My grandson isn’t your grandson!"

"Yes, yes, of course, so I’m happy!" The Emperor was truly happy; both his sons had been a handful.

"You don’t understand; I almost thought I’d die without seeing the next generation."

The Emperor’s words encapsulated the Empress’s thoughts as well.

"Now, we’ll have to see what the higher-ups decide."

It was the most prestigious family trio in the interstellar, yet at this moment, they were somewhat apprehensive of Nian Shutong.

Because they knew all too well the place Nian Shutong held in Dou Dou’s heart.

At that moment upstairs, in Dou Dou’s room, under the same soundproof cover, three people were talking.

Nian Shutong was explaining his origins to Dou Dou. Of course, he mentioned it briefly; he didn’t delve into too many details.

"Auntie, I don’t want to leave you."

"I know, we’ll discuss everything after we go downstairs."

Nian Shutong then turned to Ji Sisi and asked, "What are your thoughts?"

Ji Sisi, puzzled, looked up, pointed at herself, and said, "Should I have thoughts? I’m just glad that Ji Tiantian’s plot didn’t succeed. As for who the child’s father is, I can accept anyone."

"I love Dou Dou, that’s all that matters."

Nian Shutong roughly understood Ji Sisi’s thoughts; as long as Dou Dou was her child, it did not matter to her who the father was.

Whether he was a beggar or the Crown Prince.

"Sisi, don’t you think the Crown Prince is handsome?"

Ji Sisi recalled for a moment and said, "He’s okay, but he’s not perfectly symmetrical. Not as good-looking as my Mecha."

At that moment, Nian Shutong felt Ji Sisi might as well marry her Mecha, as far as men were concerned, she needed none.

"Alright, let’s go downstairs."

The three of them went downstairs together, faced the Royal Family, and began discussing arrangements for Dou Dou.

After exchanging the results of their respective discussions, they agreed that Dou Dou would stay on Blue Star for now, but he would undergo some essential courses taught by the Crown Prince via the Star Network.

Once they would expose the mastermind behind Dou Dou’s situation, he could return to the Imperial Palace and receive a more systematic Royal education.

Dou Dou had only one question.

"Auntie, does this mean that after learning from him, I can protect you well?"

"Yes."

Nian Shutong’s firm response made Dou Dou happily agree.

The Crown Prince, referred to as "him", didn’t mind; there was plenty of time for Dou Dou to eventually call him ’father’.

After finalizing the arrangements for Dou Dou, the Empress decided to stay on Blue Star for a while, and naturally, the Emperor would go too.

As for the Crown Prince, lonely and unaccompanied, he would return to the Imperial Palace alone.

"Ji Sisi, why don’t you see him out?"

Obediently following Nian Shutong’s instruction, Ji Sisi got up and walked the Crown Prince to the door.

At the door, the Crown Prince stopped, looking officially at this person who was supposed to be intimately related to him for the first time.

"Ji Sisi, would you be willing, for Dou Dou’s sake, to give us a chance to get to know each other?"

"If it works out, we marry; if not, we remain just Dou Dou’s parents without any burden of thought."

Ji Sisi looked up, considering the earnest Crown Prince and said, "I’m unburdened, so we can give it a try."

The Crown Prince, gazing into Ji Sisi’s calm eyes, smiled and said, "Good, let’s exchange contact details then."

They each left their Star Network account information, one departed, and one closed the door.

Upon Ji Sisi’s return, nobody asked anything; adult matters were left for adults to resolve.

Ji Sisi’s competition was over, and Dou Dou’s identity was finally confirmed, so there was nothing left for them there.

"Are you both certain you want to go back to Blue Star?"

"Of course," replied the Empress emphatically.

Nian Shutong looked at the two leaving figures and bluntly said, "You may go, but do not reveal your identities."

The Empress, waving her hand, said assuredly, "Don’t worry, even if you asked me to, I wouldn’t want to reveal it; it’s too uncomfortable."

Nian Shutong nodded, addressing them, "Then please take your grandson and his mother with you back to Blue Star for now."

The Empress, not quite understanding, looked at Nian Shutong and asked, "And what will you do?"

Nian Shutong, with a mysterious smile, said, "Ah, I received an invitation from the Imperial Military Academy a few days ago, inviting me to teach. It’s an offer I cannot refuse, so I shall make a trip there."

Nian Shutong, a teacher?

It wasn’t that the Empress thought Nian Shutong wasn’t qualified, but rather his temperament.

"Be careful, the Imperial Military Academy is an institution with centuries of prestigious heritage; don’t bring it down."

"Please rest assured, I won’t."

After sending off the Emperor and Empress, along with Ji Sisi and Dou Dou, only Lian Qing remained. However, to avoid any appearance of impropriety, he moved back to his own house, which was in the same complex.

Two days had passed, and Nian Shutong rose early.

Today was the day she had agreed to start teaching.
