Chapter 140: A Monster Among Men
BOOOM!!
Dark chains burst from the ground, wrapping around Vinous and pulled him to the ground.
"This?!" He turned his head to Sunny, his eyes glowing in rage.
"For heaven’s sake! We are both in the same rank!" he yelled, unleashing a dense burst of red energy that shattered the chains.
He stood back up, his gaze fixed on Sunny. "Okay then... I will fight to the death!"
He went through another transformation. His red fur turned into scales, muscles bulged, and claws grew four whole inches.
"You asked for this!" he roared, lunging toward Sunny.
"I will show you how inferior you are to me," Sunny said, charging forward.
"You fool! Your size is a disadvantage!" Vinous yelled, pushing his speed to the limit.
’The Curse is pulling me back, like a boulder weighing down on me... No matter what, I must kill this arrogant brat!’ Vinous thought, arriving before Sunny’s massive head.
"Die—" His eyes widened as the colossal snake disappeared, and a ten-foot-tall red and black furred werewolf flew toward him.
"Come here!" Sunny grabbed the stunned Vinous by the throat and slammed him into the barren earth, creating a huge crater on impact.
"You?! You can take more forms?!" Vinous asked, blood on his face.
Sunny didn’t reply. He grabbed one of Vinous’ dragon wings and, with a powerful pull, tore it from his body.
"AAHHHHHHHH!!!!"
Vinous let out a painful shriek and unleashed the last of his energy, forcing Sunny back.
BAM!
Sunny landed on the ground, his blood-red eyes fixed on Vinous.
"You?! How can anyone have two ancient bloodlines? You... You are a monster!" Vinous stammered in pure terror, shakily getting to his feet, blood flowing from his severed wing.
"You’re already this scared, and I haven’t even shown my full strength yet?" Sunny asked, raising his hand, his red claws glowing with an eerie, crimson light.
"Basilisk’s poison?! You have three ancient bloodlines?!!!" Vinous’s brain shut down for a second, and he took a step backward.
’If I had known, I would have killed him from the start... Someone with three bloodlines is already a god... Not to mention the person before me is already a Demi-god... I need to escape. He can keep the fruit,’ he thought, looking right and left for a distraction, unaware that Sunny heard his every thought.
"Even if you escape, you can’t hide from me... It’ll be a matter of time before I locate and kill you," Sunny said. Before he could move, a figure surrounded by light tore through the sky, descending toward them.
"A God rank?!" Both Sunny and Vinous were stunned.
They watched as a white sword appeared in the stranger’s hand. In the next moment, he sent a white cross of energy blades toward Vinous.
"What the?!" Vinous was about to move but found he couldn’t; he was stuck to the ground as the attack hurtled toward him.
"He is my kill!" Sunny opened his palm, and a ball of red lightning formed, which he then threw at Vinous.
"Do you guys want me dead so badly?!" Vinous yelled in horror.
BOOOOOOM!!
Sunny’s attack smashed into him, sending him flying backward, just as the sword energy struck his previous spot, creating a deep pit in the ground.
’Still alive?’ Sunny was stunned.
BOOOM!!!
Vinous turned to the tree, seeing all of its branches dropping to the ground. He stared at Ellen, who was busy sucking it dry.
’It is already over.’ He waved his hand, tearing the space beside him, and quickly rolled inside, disappearing from the planet.
"He escaped?" Sunny’s expression turned cold. He turned his head toward the light, which faded, revealing an old man with white hair and a beard.
"It seems you let him escape, kid," he said, sheathing his God-rank sword.
"And you are?" Sunny asked coldly, returning to his normal appearance.
"I am known as the first elder of the Council of Immortals, Leonardo."
{Name: Leonardo Blade.}
{Bloodline: Light Sovereign - Legendary rank.}
{Rank: God rank. Stage 5.}
{Strength: 900,000.}
{Agility: 1,000,000.}
{Stamina: 900,000.}
{Defense: 900,000.}
{Attack: 1,000,000.}
{Spirit energy: 1,000,000.}
{Note: Stats will change when Target put on armor.}
Sunny was stunned. ’He is fit to be the leader of the council,’ Sunny thought.
"I’m impressed, kid... Finally, I thought the Beastify nation would never provide a Divine or Demi-god rank warrior."
"What do you mean by that?" Sunny asked with a raised eyebrow.
"What do you say about joining us, the Immortal Council? Your seat is already prepared," Leonardo offered with a smile, already certain of Sunny’s answer.
’A really powerful kid... If he joins us, we will have more control,’ he thought.
"Sorry... I refuse."
"Splendid, you just— wait, what?" Leonardo was stunned.
"I refuse. If I may ask, what are you doing here?" Sunny asked.
Leonardo raised an eyebrow; no one had ever refused such an opportunity. Well, one person did, but another took his place. If Sunny refused, no one could take his spot. Secondly, he was a king, meaning others would simply follow his actions.
Leonardo sighed. "Okay... But can we be allies?" he tried another strategy.
"Not after you give me a satisfactory answer," Sunny said arrogantly.
"Hahahaha!! You are one arrogant brat... I like it! You remind me of myself when I was young," he said, then continued:
"I sensed a powerful presence around, so I spread out my energy and discovered that guy who escaped."
Sunny stared at him for a second and asked again, "Do you know about the other worlds?"
"Yes... But can you keep it a secret?" Leonardo asked, his request confusing Sunny.
"Why?"
"It is a long story. You can tell your family or anyone you trust, but it should never go public, understand?" Leonardo’s tone was serious.
’Why is he so serious? What are these old guys hiding?’ Sunny thought, asking one last question.
"Then what about Lester Blood?"
Leonardo’s face instantly changed, his gaze turning cold. "What?"
