Chapter 155: Was I Too Harsh?

Chapter 155: Was I Too Harsh?

[Three-eyed Nation.]

In the throne room of the Three-eyed Nation, a heavy silence hung in the air. Josephine stood beside the throne, her gaze fixed on the seven kneeling figures before her. Among them were Jolie and Frederick, their bodies bruised and bloodied, their armor now held by Nioh, who stood silently with Star, Blood Eye, Nicolas, and ten of Josephine’s mercenaries.

"So... what now?!" Jolie yelled, her voice filled with a mix of defiance and exhaustion.

"I have to say, you put up a valid fight," Josephine said, her fingers tracing the silver backrest of the throne.

"What are you planning now?! Do you want to wipe out my race?! You don’t want that much blood on your hands!" Jolie muttered coldly.

"If I wanted that, why would I sneak in? With one command, my mercenaries would get it done," Josephine replied, turning to face Jolie directly.

"That is the big difference between us... you use your people in a war, while I use mercenaries. No matter how many die, I won’t feel a thing."

She slowly descended the stairs leading to the throne, stopping before the seven kneeling people:

"Now, kneel here with your senators and wait."

"Fufufu... I’m still alive because you can’t kill me. If you kill me, my people will riot. Not only that, they won’t easily accept a new king! Even if you give him the throne," Jolie said, gesturing to Nioh.

"The people won’t agree... I agree you have proof of my wrongdoings, but what can you do? The people need someone they trust, and they don’t trust you one bit!"

Josephine slowly nodded. "You are right. That’s why... he won’t be the one getting the throne... Nioh already has a position even greater than a king of this nation."

"What position is greater than a king?" Frederick asked, his brow furrowed in confusion.

"Nioh here is not just the commander of the Beastify Nation, but he is also the first subordinate under the God Wolf. He has more money, army, equipment, and power than any one of you... Yeah, he’s still a Grand Master Rank, but if he wants, he could enter the Celestial Rank at any given moment... Not only him, all of them," she said, gesturing to the group behind her.

"Star is already a Celestial Rank warrior."

"How can someone jump so many ranks in such a short time?" an old man yelled, his voice incredulous.

"Easy... Celestial Stones... Each one of them here has more than three hundred Grand Class Celestial Stones."

"What the hell?! That many?!" Jolie was stunned.

Josephine smiled and turned, her back to the seven.

"From the start, you weren’t our match... not in wealth, military power, or physical strength." She looked at Jolie over her shoulder.

"Do you now realize your mistake? In this battle, we didn’t even use 1% of our military power..."

"Not even 1%?" The senators behind the mother and son went pale.

"And about who will get the throne..."

WHOOSH!

Josephine and everyone in the hall turned their heads to the entrance as space tore open and a gateway appeared. From it, Jade was thrown out, both arms and legs tied. Then, Sunny and Jinx stepped out.

"Jade?! God Wolf?!" Jolie was confused. "What happened?!" she yelled.

"Hayley betrayed us. She’s under the God Wolf, and this lady here is her real self," Jade said through gritted teeth.

"Hey... introduce me with respect... You should be happy there aren’t any bruises on your face, yet," Jinx said, then turned to Jolie.

"Forgive her ignorance. I am Jinx," she said with a smile.

Jolie blinked a couple of times and turned to the God Wolf. "I see I lost," she chuckled darkly.

"The throne is now yours."

"Indeed, it is mine... but I’m not the one who’ll sit on it." Sunny walked past her and stood beside Josephine. "Are you ready to reveal it?" he asked.

"Reveal what?" Jolie asked back.

Sunny exhaled and snapped his fingers.

BOOM!

Everyone turned to the gateway, which had appeared in the same spot as the previous one. From it, a young, beautiful middle-aged woman in a blue dress, who look almost identical to Nioh, stepped out. Her blue hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall, and her three cold eyes were fixed on Jolie.

"You?! Impossible! No way! It can’t be! Impossible!!" Jolie stammered in horror.

"She will take the throne," Sunny said with a smile.

"She?! You took over our nation for her?!" Frederick asked, his frown deepening.

"You misunderstood... I say she will have the throne, but the nation will be under the Beastify Nation..."

"Like... like a vassal nation?" Frederick asked in mild shock.

"Correct! You are smart!" Sunny said with a smile.

"To the outside world, the Three-eyed Nation lost to the Beastify Nation, dropping them on the nation ranking board... They will have no idea the Three-eyed Nation and all their troops are now under my control... How would I put this? Miss Lola here will manage this nation... If she needs anything, she can ask me."

"So... what are you going to do with us?" Jolie asked.

Sunny turned around and climbed the stairs, followed by Josephine and Lola. He arrived before the throne and sat down, and the two women stood on either side of him.

"Lola and her younger brother will decide your fates," he said.

Lola stared at the eight people, then moved her gaze to Nioh, who gave her a slight nod.

"All of you will be stripped of your positions and titles. You will be paraded all over the city with your crimes being announced to the people, and at the town square... you will be beheaded." Her words stunned the eight people below.

"No! I can’t die!" The old man quickly started pleading.

"Forget that, old man... Your daughter is already dead, and if I know this lady behind us, you will die sooner than you think," Jade said darkly, cutting the man off.

The old man went pale and looked over his shoulder at Jinx, who was spinning her dagger between her fingers.

"You killed my daughter?" he asked in shock.

"If she had chosen the right side, both of you might survive this," Jinx said with a sneer.

"....?!"

The old man’s eyes went wide, and the next moment he collapsed to the ground.

Jinx frowned slightly, moved toward him, and checked his pulse:

"Huh? This old geezer is dead," she stated in surprise.

"Wait, was I too harsh?" Jinx added, looking up at everyone.

"......?!"
