Chapter 571 Ambush on the Road

On the Road.

Su Tianyu sat in the lead car, rubbing his sweaty hands on his pants, and shouted, "Are all the radios on?"

"On," Lao Hei replied.

"Can Monkey hear me?" Su Tianyu asked.

"Yes," Hou Guoyu replied.

"Listen to me, from now on, we're heading into the mountains. If there's any sign of trouble, everyone gets out and runs," Su Tianyu said quickly. "Use the cars as groups, don't worry about anyone else, run as far as you can. Understand?"

"Understood!"

The response came from all the cars immediately.

After instructing everyone, Su Tianyu immediately turned to the driver and asked, "Are there any other clothes in the car?"

"A few jackets."

"Any hats?" Su Tianyu asked again.

"In the trunk."

"Get some from the back, we'll change clothes and put on hats," Su Tianyu called back to the people in the back seat.

The driver was stunned for a moment, then turned to Su Tianyu and asked, "We came out of the Chi-Army base, and our reaction was quick enough. We shouldn't be targeted, right?"

"Hard to say," Su Tianyu shook his head.

While the two were talking, the seven cars sped towards an unknown mountain range nearby.

...

In the command vehicle.

Zhao Weihu held a military communication device and roared, "First Regiment, what's the situation? What's the situation?!"

"Reporting, Commander, the rebel offensive is fierce!" the First Regiment commander yelled. "They have at least two thousand men hidden on the flank. We held off one attack, but lost ground and are currently retreating towards Mount Tianshen, suffering heavy losses."

Zhao Weihu gritted his teeth and roared, "Forget about the supplies, abandon everything in the defense zone! I want men, you bring the men back to me!"

"Yes!"

The two ended the call. Zhao Weihu was about to contact the Second Regiment when a staff officer rushed into the vehicle and said, "Tang Zhengde's brigade has begun to advance, blocking all our retreat routes. The communications department is trying to contact them, but cannot reach them."

"Bang, bang, bang!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the sound of artillery fire suddenly rang out from the direction of the retreat route, where Tang Zhengde's brigade was advancing.

"Damn it, they're firing!" The chief of staff immediately pulled Zhao Weihu. "We need to move the command center. Let's get out of the car, Commander. We'll take smaller vehicles and get to Huarez Town ahead of them."

"Gather your things." Zhao Weihu's face was extremely gloomy. He bent down and got out of the car, joining the command team in changing to more maneuverable mountain vehicles, and then fled towards Huarez Town.

...

About five kilometers outside the Chi-Army base, seven SUVs had already entered the mountain road and continued to flee north.

"Da da da...!"

Just as the convoy entered the mountains, gunfire erupted from the slope above.

Immediately afterward, a row of car headlights appeared on the official road the convoy had just passed.

Inside one of the cars, a man in camouflage special forces uniform gritted his teeth and roared, "Su Tianyu and the others must have heard something, otherwise they wouldn't have run into the mountains. Let's do it now."

"Do it, I'll support you immediately." Xue Ping'an, who had fled from the Golden Triangle, said hoarsely on the phone.

Inside the lead car.

Su Tianyu immediately shouted, "Don't go any further, get out, retreat, split up and run, we can't fight them."

As he spoke, the convoy stopped, and everyone rushed out, scattering in all directions.

Earlier at the Chi-Army base, Kong Zhengui had given Gou Liu-zi advice. He felt that since the other side was making such a big move, they must be well-prepared, so it was very likely that there were insiders within the Chi-Army headquarters. However, that didn't necessarily mean that the Chi-Army brothers were betraying everyone and Gui Mengjun. The problem might lie within the delegation.

Gou Liu-zi felt that what Zhengui said made a lot of sense, so he chose to split up. He had someone put on Gui Mengjun's clothes and rode in a car with him, while Kong Zhengui took Gui Zong and Yu Mingyuan and left separately. There were only three of them, and they weren't driving, they were fleeing on foot.

As soon as the gunfire rang out, Su Tianyu knew that Kong Zhengui's judgment was correct. There really were people coming for Gui Mengjun alone.

The brothers rushed out of the cars, scattering and fleeing in all directions.

Hou Guoyu and Lao Hei provided cover from the sides, while the others ran as far as they could, because in the current situation, they definitely couldn't fight.

The other side might not have guessed that Kong Zhengui had predicted their actions in advance, but one thing was certain: as soon as the gunfire rang out, there would definitely be reinforcements coming.

Su Tianyu, with four of Gui Mengjun's brothers, scrambled up the mountain in a sorry state, firing back as they ran in the opposite direction from the others.

At this point, whoever could get out was the one who would survive. They absolutely couldn't get caught up in the fight, couldn't be drawn back, or they would all be wiped out.

Gunfire echoed through the mountains. One of Gui Mengjun's brothers was running forward when he was shot in the chest from the shadows and died instantly.

...

Inside a brightly lit house in the Casallo region.

Miao Ziwei looked at Zhu Bajie and asked, "Three million in cash! Enough to buy a villa in a first-tier city and live out your days in peace. If you don't cooperate, how do you know your brothers won't cooperate either?!"

Zhu Bajie glanced at him, "Why don't you ask them yourself?"

Miao Ziwei put his hands behind his back and looked at the eight guards at the door, "Whoever can do this, the three million is theirs. I'll kill the rest of you and make sure you don't leak a word."

The eight guards paled and trembled, but none of them replied.

"Not enough money? Speak up, I can add more," Miao Ziwei emphasized.

The room was very quiet, and still no one volunteered to take on the task.

"Are you shy?" Miao Ziwei smiled and looked at everyone. "There's nothing to be shy about! I said, whoever takes this job, I'll kill everyone else."

"Screw you!"

One of the guards cursed, "Do you know what the Chi-Army is? Do you know what it means to be a commander's guard?! I'm not afraid to go to the battlefield, why would I be afraid of you?!"

"You're pretty tough!" Miao Ziwei strode over.

"What's it to you?!" The young guard frowned. "I'll tell you straight, even if someone among us has betrayed us and taken your money, even if they call the guard unit, none of the brothers there will cooperate. The Chi-Army has been fighting for so many years, the spineless cowards are all dead!"

"Is that so?"

"Go screw yourself!"

"Bang!!!"

Miao Ziwei was enraged, drew his gun, raised his arm, and executed the guard who had been shouting angrily just a second before.

Blood splattered on the wall, and the remaining seven guards clenched their fists, their bodies trembling even more violently.

Miao Ziwei turned back to Zhu Bajie, "I don't believe there are so many people in this world who aren't afraid of death. I'm not giving out the three million, I'm just going to test human nature!"

"Pa!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Miao Ziwei raised his gun and aimed at another person, "Can you cooperate?!"
