Chapter 685 The Last Line of Defense

Chapter 1 Su Tianyu and Others

Inside the main building of Dongsheng Express, Su Tianyu and the others could no longer hold the first floor. They had to retreat to the second floor to continue stalling for time.

In the corridor on the second floor, many security personnel were injured. Five or six had been shot and seriously wounded, and a dozen or so young men had been cut and beaten, suffering minor injuries.

The stench of blood and gunpowder was pungent, and cries of pain echoed incessantly.

Although the conflict hadn't escalated to an armed level, the chaos on the scene was no less severe. The building was swarming with people – those climbing through windows, those scaling the warehouse roofs next door to reach the second floor, and a mix of hot and cold weapons making defense nearly impossible.

Inside the corridor,

Lao Hei clutched his stomach, leaning against the wall, his body weakened.

Su Tianyu rushed over and asked urgently, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, it's not a big deal." Lao Hei used a strip of cloth from his clothes to stop the bleeding: "Just a cut, not too deep."

"Okay, you go find water and pour it into the sockets to short-circuit the electrical system." Su Tianyu immediately instructed, "We can't do this openly, or we really won't be able to hold them back."

"Alright!" Lao Hei gritted his teeth and replied, immediately shouting, "Someone, come with me to the bathroom!"

Three or four people followed Lao Hei away quickly. Su Tianyu stood in the middle of the corridor, waving his hand and shouting, "Groups of five, find people you know, hide in the rooms. After you're inside, wait for the lights to go out before attacking, but don't run around blindly, so you don't accidentally injure your own!"

Hearing the shouts, the people in the corridor immediately scattered in groups of three or five. The seriously wounded were helped to the upper floors, and the lightly wounded, who could still move, gritted their teeth, picked up their weapons, and prepared to continue fighting.

About half a minute later,

"Bang! Crash!"

A burst of electrical explosion came from the bathroom, followed by the lights on the second and third floors flickering a few times before going out. The circuit breaker tripped, and the power supply automatically cut off.

"Get in the rooms, get in the rooms!"

Su Tianyu pushed Jiangzhou's head down and stepped into a lounge.

"Thump!" Jiangzhou had been fighting for less than five minutes, and his underwear was already soaked with sweat. It wasn't that he was too useless, but that his Iron Man armor was too damn heavy, making it difficult to even walk.

Hou Guoyu leaned against the door, licking his lips and saying, "How much money did these people get? They're fighting so desperately!"

"Do you have any bullets left in your gun?" Su Tianyu asked.

"Damn, if I had bullets, would I have let them rush up from the first floor?" Hou Guoyu cursed through gritted teeth, "Most of our people are out of bullets, but they probably don't have much ammo left either."

"It's better if everyone's out of bullets, that way we can stall for longer." Su Tianyu turned to look at Jiangzhou: "Where's the backup?"

"They've landed and are coming this way." Jiangzhou gasped and cursed, "These bastards... don't let me get out of here, or even if the King of Heaven is behind this, I'll bring him to justice!"

This was a bit of an exaggeration, causing Su Tianyu to look at him in surprise.

"The commander values you," Jiangzhou quickly added, "After all, we're from the same family, haha!"

Su Tianyu turned back, not saying anything more, "Wait for the signal!"

...

Hanoi City, the middle section of Zheng Nan Road, more than twenty military vehicles stopped outside the border checkpoint. A regimental chief of staff was actively communicating with the inspection unit.

"I told you, my Chinese-funded enterprise has been attacked, and we have distinguished guests there. If something happens, no one can bear the responsibility!" The regimental chief of staff said quickly, "We'll go in without carrying any heavy weapons, and we won't open fire outside the Dongsheng Express compound. We won't even fire a single shot, just drive away the attackers!"

"No. I understand your feelings, but I have not received any orders from above to allow armed forces to pass." A lieutenant colonel on the other side replied expressionlessly, "Even our direct departments above have no right to order us to let you pass. We need a direct order from the General Headquarters."

The political infighting in Hanoi has reached a fever pitch, and the upper echelons must be cautious about controlling the armed forces. Not allowing passage is actually reasonable, otherwise, what if rebellious troops infiltrate?

Therefore, the Chinese regimental chief of staff couldn't figure out whether the other party had received benefits from someone to deliberately obstruct them, or was just executing orders from above.

"I can tell you that our troops were transferred into the city at the order of the Southwest Theater Command." The Chinese chief of staff said with a solemn expression, "If you delay, it won't be a simple conflict of orders, but possibly a diplomatic incident!"

The other party looked at him, frowned, and replied in Mandarin, "If you are in a hurry, you can have the Southwest Theater Command communicate with our General Headquarters. As long as the higher-ups speak, we will immediately let you pass."

The Chinese chief of staff was speechless, because just five minutes ago, not only had the navy contacted the General Headquarters of the Old Triangle, but even the Southwest Theater Command had called here, but the situation in Hanoi was very chaotic, and all the high-ranking officials in this headquarters were full of excuses because they couldn't make the decision at all.

"Damn it!"

The Chinese chief of staff cursed, "You contact your superiors now, and say that our troops have arrived at the checkpoint and must pass now. It's a must!"

...

Inside the Dongsheng Express building,

Su Tianyu and the others were hiding in a room on the second floor. They had only rested for less than five minutes when shouting and fighting broke out in the corridor.

"Don't move, wait a little longer, so you don't accidentally injure anyone." Jiangzhou waved his hand and called out to the others.

Everyone swallowed and quietly waited, clutching the weapons in their hands.

After a while, the shouts and footsteps got closer and closer, and the sounds were right outside the door.

"It's our turn! Let's go! Let's go!!" Su Tianyu yanked open the door and rushed out first, holding a one-and-a-half-meter-long riot control fork.

"Bang bang!"

Jiangzhou's assistant fired all the bullets in his gun at the doorway, and in the darkness, he saw two thugs in the corridor fall to the ground.

"Puchi, puchi...!"

Jiangzhou, wielding a Nepalese dog-leg knife he had picked up, relied on his full armor and stabbed two people in a row.

In the corridor, knives and swords flashed, and a dozen people were fighting in a melee. Blood splattered, and the ground was completely stained red. It was slippery to step on.

Jiangzhou was wrestling with a tall, strong man, his body pushed against the wall, his arms weakening.

"Bang!"

Su Tianyu kicked the man away from the side and reached out to pull Jiangzhou.

"Puchi!"

At this moment, someone rushed up from the side and stabbed Jiangzhou in his left rib, where there was no steel plate protection, and the tip of the knife pierced through his flesh.

"Damn it!"

When the assistant saw Jiangzhou being stabbed, he rushed up like a madman and knocked back the opponent, then immediately lowered his head and stammered, "Are... are you okay?"

"They're retreating, they're retreating, go back!" Su Tianyu shouted.

Jiangzhou felt a burning pain in his left rib, and he supported himself on the assistant to get up.

"God damn it!" The assistant sent Jiangzhou into the room, immediately took out his phone, and cursed, "Where are the people? Where are the people?! Are you going to watch us die here?! Can you come already?!"

...

Checkpoint.

The Chinese chief of staff was on the verge of collapse. He was filled with anger, but he couldn't touch the local control rules of the Old Triangle, especially after unification. The diplomatic principle of the Chinese district was not to touch any interests of other districts.

"How much longer?" the chief of staff demanded.

"Bang!"

Just then, the commander of the regiment in the front jeep pushed open the door and walked down, rushing to the checkpoint entrance with extremely fast steps, pointing at the barrier and roaring, "Raise it up for me, right now!"
