He had come specifically for this auction upon hearing about the Exotic Treasure named ’A Thousand-Year Dream’.
This was the seventeenth Exotic Treasure he had acquired that contained Future Rules.

Lin Qing turned to see a long-haired young man quickly approaching, and immediately he said, "Su Lan? Did you come to this auction too?"
The young man called Su Lan was an acquaintance he had met at a previous private transaction event.
He had bought two Future Rule Exotic Treasures from Su Lan and sold two Chaos Treasures to him, and over time, they became familiar with each other.
Whenever Su Lan got wind of any private transaction events, he would invite Lin Qing as well.
Though Su Lan was merely a Low Level Chaos Creature, his spending was quite lavish, and his father seemed to have a notable status among the High Level Chaos Creatures.
As a Low Level Chaos Creature, Su Lan was given considerable respect in many places, even from those who were conferred as Uncle.

He shook his head slightly and then looked at Lin Qing, asking, "What about you? Did you win any bids?"
"Yeah, with a significant premium," Lin Qing smiled.
"You must be really loaded," the long-haired young man said with some envy, "My dad wouldn’t let me spend like that unless I earned major merits on the battlefield and got a reward."
"By the way," he continued, "the enrollment for State Domains’ army is closing soon. Have you thought about which State Domain’s Expeditionary Army to join?"
"I haven’t considered joining the Expeditionary Army at all," Lin Qing shook his head.
"Are you planning to join the Guard Army?" the long-haired young man asked in surprise, "The Guard Army only has the chance to earn merit when other State Domains’ Expeditionary Army attacks. It doesn’t earn merits as quickly as the Expeditionary Army."
Lin Qing didn’t elaborate further.
War is a prime opportunity for earning military merits and amassing wealth, also a chance for changing one’s status.
Why do High Level Chaos Creatures, despite already having titles and territories, still participate in the Holy Star Exchange?
It’s to wait for the Eternal powers commanding the State Domains to ’bid’ for talent.

In State Domain wars, High Level Chaos Creatures are the main force. Recruiting one from the enemy decreases their number and increases yours, and if you recruit enough, it makes a big difference.
It could be said the course of the war is decided during the Holy Star Exchange.
But Lin Qing had little interest in war, and he was still just a Low Level Chaos Creature, without even a territory.
Casually joining a Guard Army and focusing on Cultivation is the right course.
