Chapter 82 Framing

Chapter 1 The Darkness

The clouds were thick, almost completely blocking the moonlight, leaving the sea surface pitch black.

At this moment, Jia Wenjun and the others were in the vast sea, forced to proceed blindly. The blow she had suffered earlier had slowly subsided after she saw two torches slowly descending from the ship.

Lili was beside herself with excitement, her spirits high all the way. Jia Wenjun was also thrilled; someone was coming to meet them. No matter how those people had treated her before, even if she knew they weren’t coming specifically for her but that she was just "along for the ride," she still felt grateful.

Ten meters, eight meters, six meters. Jia Wenjun, who was in the lead, could hear whistles coming from the direction of the torches. She quickly pulled out her own whistle from her clothes and blew it loudly in response.

"Great, we're saved!" Lili shouted, "We're here!"

Anna, gasping for breath, let go of the hand she was holding. "If you have the energy to shout, you can walk yourself."

Lili suddenly lost the support on her left side and almost fell into the water.

She looked displeased. "I said, Anna-jie, if you didn't want to help me, couldn't you have said something beforehand? Did you have to hurt me like that?"

Anna was already harboring resentment, and hearing her say that, she immediately started scolding, "I hurt you? If I hadn't been supporting you just now, would you still be alive to spout these ungrateful words? Heaven sees everything; if you have no conscience, you'll be punished."

"You, you're cursing me? If I hadn't retrieved the phone, the whole ship would have been done for! I did such a great deed, and you benefited from it too. It's only right that you help me. You're the one who's ungrateful and has no conscience!" By now, Lili had recovered, and seeing that someone was coming to meet them, she began to consider herself a hero, since she was the one who found the phone, and her attitude towards Anna became extremely dissatisfied.

After all, she had saved their lives; how could they treat their savior like this?

Lili was, of course, annoyed. Earlier, when she saw her coming to meet them and offering to help her back, Lili thought Anna was someone who knew how to be grateful. Who knew that now, as soon as they got close to the ship, she would act like the captain again? If it weren't for Anna, the captain, they wouldn't have suffered like this. Given the current situation, she wasn't going to buy Anna's act!

Seeing that the two of them could still argue at this time, Bai Ma Shan felt his temples throbbing. He was injured and already exhausted. These two women were just looking for trouble; he really wanted to just let go and leave.

"Alright, both of you say less. We're not on the boat yet!" Bai Ma Shan looked exhausted. He stopped supporting Lili.

Lili, without support, swayed from side to side in the water. "Bai-dage, give me a hand."

Bai Ma Shan's voice was dry and hoarse. "I have no strength left. Everyone, form a line and move forward one by one."

Lili saw that no one was waiting for her, and she became anxious. Suppressing her anger, she gritted her teeth and followed.

"There's a half-meter-high reef about a meter ahead; avoid it to the left," Jia Wenjun, who was in the lead, feeling her way, reminded those behind her.

Bai Ma Shan, walking behind her, avoided the reef and didn't forget to tell her, "Be careful yourself."

Anna, walking behind him, bypassed the reef, but her face was gloomy. She thought to herself, why didn't this thing trip that woman? If she tripped and drowned, that would save trouble.

Lili, bringing up the rear, kept shouting for them to wait for her, and when she saw that the people in front hadn't stopped, she began to curse under her breath.

The old man and Teacher Lin, being older, moved even slower than Jia Wenjun's group, only managing to move a short distance in the water after a long time.

The old man, who was walking in front, looked at the shivering Teacher Lin and said, "Forget it, just stand here. I'll go find them myself. Remember to hold the rope steady and hold up the torch to guide us."

Teacher Lin didn't expect the water to be so cold. Her teeth chattered. "Okay, okay."

The old man held up the torch and groped his way forward. The sound of Jia Wenjun's whistle grew louder and louder. The old man simply shouted, "I see you! Wait, I'll come over to light the way."

For Jia Wenjun and the others, the last two meters felt as difficult as escaping from a swamp. Fortunately, groping their way forward, the four of them finally met up with the old man.

Seeing Bai Ma Shan, the old man's heart settled. "It's good that everyone has returned safely. Did you get the phone?"

"We got it. Xiao Jia has it."

The old man was a little surprised and glanced at Jia Wenjun. He didn't know why these three would let Jia Wenjun hold such an important item.

But now wasn't the time to talk about it. The group hurried back to the ship. Teacher Lin became excited from afar. "Did you find my phone? Can we make calls?"

The old man spoke for them, "We found it, we found it. Let's get back on the ship first."

Jia Wenjun didn't remember how she got on the ship. She only knew that the moment she stood on the deck, her vision went black, and she fell down.

Her vision was blurry. She vaguely felt many hands supporting her. She felt like a feather, floating lightly in the air. She had eaten too little these past few days and had just exhausted all her strength. If it weren't for her will to survive, she might not have made it back.

Some blurry figures moved back and forth around her. She felt someone forcefully pulling at the bag on her chest. She heard the people next to her talking to Bai Ma Shan, and she also heard Lili telling everyone how she had discovered the phone.

The sounds grew fainter and fainter, and her consciousness became even more scattered.

She didn't know how long she had been unconscious, but in her dream, she felt a pair of large hands pressing on her chest and roughly tearing at her clothes.

At first, she thought it was just a dream, and she wanted to resist, but she couldn't lift her arms.

But the feeling was too real, so real that she could feel the stinging pain of the other person's nails scratching her skin.

Jia Wenjun shuddered and wanted to wake up from the dream. But there was always a layer of fog in front of her eyes, and she couldn't return to reality.

Although she was weak all over, she didn't want to be bullied and manipulated. With her remaining will, she bit her tongue hard. The pain finally woke her up.

When she opened her eyes, she found that the bag that had been tied to her chest was gone, and there was no one around her.

She struggled to get up and found that she was in the cabin. Next to her on the bed lay Lu Maowang, his eyes open, not knowing whether he was asleep or awake.

With Lu Maowang's injuries, he shouldn't be able to stand up. Could it be that what happened just now was really just a dream?

It was pitch black here. Jia Wenjun didn't want to stay in this eerie space with Lu Maowang. She took a deep breath and moved her legs to get out of bed. But as soon as her foot touched the ground, she heard a yelp.

Jia Wenjun saw a shadow jump up from the ground. It turned out that in this darkness, the dog had been guarding her side all along.

Her startled heart quickly calmed down, but the dog's yelp had also been heard by the people outside.

A series of curses came from the deck. The more Jia Wenjun listened, the more she felt something was wrong. Bai Ma Shan seemed to be explaining something to everyone, but they were still cursing.

Bai Ma Shan seemed to be trying to dissuade them, not letting them come over. Jia Wenjun listened carefully and realized that the people outside actually wanted to come in and fight her. https:/m.kuAisugg.nět

Jia Wenjun frowned. She had just returned and fainted. She didn't know what she had done to provoke them again by risking her life to save people and retrieve the phone. Why were they so enraged that they were shouting to kill her?
