Chapter 18 You Can Choose

Before long, the two demonic disciples, under Ye Yang's direction, opened the gate. A torrent of demonic energy and a pungent stench of blood rushed in.

The demon disciple's face remained as gloomy as water, but the blood disciple said excitedly, "I knew I hadn't misjudged you. Your mechanism skills are pretty good!"

"Come on, tell me, how do you plan to save our master?"

I turned to Yu Wusheng and asked, "How long until the people downstairs bring you food?"

Yu Wusheng shook his head. "I don't know. Every time we eat, we fall into a deep sleep until the next time we wake up."

"We've lost all sense of time here."

The demon disciple said, "Half an hour!"

"Good!" I said, "In a little while, when they deliver the food, we'll find a chance to get close to the mechanism they use to open the gate. You calculate the time, cut off their connection with Shi Haoguang, and take everyone out."

"Remember, everyone. No one can be left behind."

"Only then can we force them to come out and catch people."

The blood disciple laughed. "Is it really necessary to go through so much trouble? Wouldn't it be easier to just kill them?"

The blood disciple's words sent a chill down the spines of the Yang Jian Jie Ming Ren.

I glared at him coldly. "If you don't want to save your master, you can certainly do that."

The blood disciple was about to say something more, but the demon disciple stopped him. "He's right!"

Soon after, I heard the sound of something scraping against the stone.

I turned to look at Ye Yang, but he was shaking his head slightly. He was telling me that it wasn't the sound of a mechanism!

The next moment, a foot-square opening was pushed up from the ground, and a fist the size of a clay pot emerged from it.

The demonic hand extended half a foot above the ground, then opened its palm, placing a pile of red fruits the size of crabapples in front of the Jie Ming Ren.

I glanced at the demon disciple, who looked just as surprised.

Clearly, he only knew the time when the underground demons delivered food to the Jie Ming Ren, but he didn't know how they did it.

Neither Ye Yang nor I had practiced bone shrinking techniques, so there was no way we could squeeze through a hole that small.

However, this proved that my earlier guess was correct.

The demons couldn't leave the dungeon.

The demon disciple decisively shouted, "Now!"

As soon as the words left his mouth, the demonic energy in his hand swept across the ground like a steel blade, severing the demonic claw at the wrist.

A deafening demonic roar echoed from underground. The two disciples waved their demonic energy, sweeping up the Jie Ming Ren in the room and fleeing outwards.

The connection between the Jie Ming Ren and the demons was suddenly severed, and the underground demons instantly went berserk, repeatedly slamming towards the dungeon.

The floor paved with pig iron was dented into several protruding lumps in a matter of moments.

The underground demons could break through the barrier at any moment.

Amidst the earth-shattering roar, Ye Yang and I quickly retreated to a corner of the hall. I grabbed Su Su and whispered in her ear, "Get out of here and drain all the luck from the people outside."

Su Su was shocked. "Who are the people outside?"

"You'll know when you get there. Go!" I forcibly pushed Su Su away.

Su Su looked at me with suspicion. "You're not just telling me to run for my life, are you?"

Only after I said, "Someone outside will meet you!" did she disappear from sight.

As soon as Su Su left, Ye Yang and I immediately transformed into half-ghost bodies and hid in the pile of corpses.

A moment later, a hole was blasted open in the floor of the iron prison, and blood-red demonic energy spewed out from below, heading straight after the Jie Ming Ren.

Ye Yang and I jumped into the lower level of the dungeon.

There, just as expected, stood an inverted spire.

From my perspective, the top-shaped spire was precisely pressing down on a pyramid-like altar.

That altar should be the place where the demons were sealed.

However, a hole had already been opened in it.

Someone had released the demons one step ahead of us.

I took a few steps towards the altar and stopped. "Friends inside, can we have a chat?"

Someone inside the altar said, "Holy Maiden Zhu said you're always arrogant and put yourself above everyone. Seeing you today, it's clear that's true."

"Knowing that I'm in the altar, you should have some self-awareness and leave immediately."

"To still be thinking of capturing me at this point, aren't you overestimating yourself?"

"But if you don't come down, how are we going to kill Li Chunfeng?"
