Chapter 1 The Fury of Yan Yu Louzhu

The fury of Yan Yu Louzhu couldn't stop me.

As the blade of Zi Ye in my hand flashed like lightning towards the corpse, Yan Yu Louzhu's divine sense slammed into me.

I felt as if I'd been struck a heavy blow to the head. Staggering in the water, I nearly fell.

By the time I steadied myself against a coffin, Yan Yu Louzhu was roaring, "Li Po, you go too far! I allowed you to roam freely within Yan Yu Lou, not to do as you please!"

Clutching my head, I fought back the pain and said, "You claim to want to uncover the truth of what happened back then, yet you repeatedly obstruct me from searching for clues. Do you think your Arena will just walk out on her own if you do that?"

"Insolent!" Yan Yu Louzhu's divine sense crashed into mine again, blanking my mind and causing blood to trickle from my nose.

I faintly heard Yan Yu Louzhu's furious roar: "Li Po, do you think you can run rampant before me just because you have a little cleverness?"

I understood!

A king not only possesses majesty but also equal arrogance.

My searching for clues in Yan Yu Lou was tantamount to saying that Yan Yu Louzhu was being played by someone under his very nose.

It was a severe blow to his pride.

Before I could speak, I heard Wang Tu Fu's sharp voice: "What Yan Yu Louzhu? How can you call yourself a ghost deity if you didn't even notice someone messing around under your nose?"

"Yan Yu Lou, are you controlling the maids with Gu insects?"

"What did you say?" Yan Yu Louzhu's shocked voice was followed by a burst of rage: "Are you saying I am blind?"

"You're right!" Wang Tu Fu said, "Do you dare to make a bet with me? If you can't find any Gu insects on the body, I'll gouge out my own eyes and offer them to you as an apology."

"If I find Gu insects, from now on, you stop your incessant nagging and listen to Li Po's orders."

Yan Yu Louzhu said coldly: "What qualifications do you have to gamble with me?"

Wang Tu Fu laughed: "Haven't you heard that petty men and women are the most difficult to deal with? I, a woman, dare to bet my eyes with you, yet you, a ghost deity, are being so fussy? Don't you feel ashamed?"

I strained my splitting head and looked towards Wang Tu Fu. Her cleaver had already swept across the corpse.

The corpse floating on the water was split in two, sinking into the coffin on either side.

As Wang Tu Fu retracted her blade, Yan Yu Louzhu spoke: "Considering you're a woman, I won't haggle with you. Let's just consider the bet a joke!"

"You don't want to haggle with me, but I really want to see you apologize!" As Wang Tu Fu spoke, she plunged a hand into the coffin filled with rainwater.

After stirring the water several times, Wang Tu Fu pulled out something that looked like seaweed.

Grabbing the edge of the "seaweed," Wang Tu Fu shook it in the air, revealing something that resembled a small octopus.

"This thing was dug out of your maid's head. See for yourself!"

"This…" Yan Yu Louzhu hesitated before saying, "I don't believe it. Perhaps it's just that a Gu insect secretly sneaked into the coffin."

Although Yan Yu Louzhu said he didn't believe it, his tone lacked conviction.

Wang Tu Fu sneered and waved her hand, sending several palm strikes that sent the lids of nearby coffins flying: "Now, see for yourself, Yun Shang, it's up to you."

I couldn't see Yan Yu Louzhu, but I could feel his emotions in my divine sense.

As the corpses from those coffins floated to the edge with the rainwater, Yan Yu Louzhu was already eighty percent convinced by Wang Tu Fu's words.

Wang Tu Fu said calmly, "Why are the corpses that have been soaked in water undecayed after hundreds of years? And why are they floating in the water? You should know the answer, right?"

"If it was just one corpse, you could explain it as a coincidence. But all the corpses are like this. Is that still a coincidence?"

While Wang Tu Fu was speaking, Yun Shang sprinkled a handful of powder on the coffin closest to them.

The powder flying in the air was like a layer of white frost on the female corpse's face, and the corpse in the coffin suddenly opened her eyes.

The next second, two tentacle-like things pierced through the female corpse's eyes and reached into the air.

That thing seemed unable to withstand the powder Yun Shang sprinkled down, desperately trying to break free of the corpse and escape the coffin.

But Yun Shang didn't give it a chance, sprinkling another handful of powder into the coffin. The rainwater in the coffin immediately began to bubble as if it had been boiled.

Under violent struggles, the Gu insect inside the corpse shattered the corpse's head and shot out of the water.

Wang Tu Fu grabbed the Gu insect in her hand with a palm strike: "Now, who won?"

"If you still don't believe it, I can get a few more Gu insects for you to see."
