Chapter 1519: Maternal Helper

Chapter 1519: Chapter 1519: Maternal Helper

The translator listened, their heart pounding, secretly sighing at the bizarre occurrences in the world.

Communicating Cherry’s intentions to the young couple, they discussed for a short while and asked Cherry what the consequences would be if they failed.

"If it fails, it won’t be any different from now, but the body can’t survive more than three years without the soul’s support," Cherry replied.

This hardly needed consideration; even the smallest chance had to be tried. The couple thanked them profusely and guaranteed they would bring the child the next evening.

After the couple left, Cherry met another guest, a middle-aged man with graying hair.

He didn’t bring a translator, but whispered something in Cherry’s ear and then left the room wordlessly.

Mr. Ghost Hayes was puzzled and asked Cherry, "Who is this guy? What did he say to you?"

Cherry stared at the man’s back, looking bewildered.

"Hey, what’s wrong?" Mr. Ghost Hayes asked again, "What did he say to you?"

Cherry snapped out of it, shaking her head, "Nothing much."

She asked, "Who else is left to see?"

Mr. Ghost Hayes said, "There’s still number 1743, 1721, and 3662. Number 1721 is the Stan Brothers. The brothers bid together, and the one buying the dog is the older brother. Why don’t you meet the younger brother?"

"No way." Cherry thought of the three-headed dog and felt extremely repelled.

Mr. Ghost Hayes sighed, "There aren’t many people left on the ship now. I guess number 1743 should be the man with glasses, named Gene. He’s a cousin to the Stan Brothers, and they always hang out together. At least meet one of them, right? They all contributed money; you can’t just ignore all of them?"

Cherry thought for a moment and reluctantly agreed, "Fine, I’ll just meet the cousin named Gene. But not the other two. What about number 3662? Why haven’t they come to see me yet?"

Mr. Ghost Hayes looked at her confusedly, thinking: Isn’t number 3662 with you every day?

...

The next night, Cherry called Purple Summers to help.

Purple Summers was always willing to help, but she was puzzled why Cherry specifically asked her for assistance.

"Everyone’s a ghost, we should help each other," Cherry said.

Then she muttered softly, "In terms of rank, I’m higher than you. You ought to listen to me."

Purple Summers widened her eyes, "In terms of seniority, I’m still your cousin!"

Cherry: "Hmph, how boring."

Purple Summers was speechless, unwilling to argue with her childlike behavior.

At ten o’clock in the evening, the couple pushed the baby stroller over. The twins lay sleeping inside, showing no abnormal reactions, appearing as innocent and adorable little angels.

Their mother kept crying, gently kissed the two children, and reluctantly followed her husband out, closing the door.

Purple Summers, having had kids herself, coincidentally also gave birth to twins, felt exceptionally fond of such little babies.

Cherry said, "I’m going to start the soul summoning. If the kids wake up in the process, you have to soothe them."

Purple Summers couldn’t help but curl her lip, realizing she was called over to soothe the children.

"You might as well have kept their mom here. Little babies find comfort in familiar smells."

"That’s not possible." Cherry shook her head in disagreement, "The soul leaving the body is terrifying for normal people. What if she faints out of fear? Having you here is the most reliable option; you can calm the babies and feel familiar with seeing ghosts."

Though she was complimented... Purple Summers felt uncomfortable listening to it.

The two closed all the doors and windows and turned the lights off, leaving only dim moonlight streaming through the glass window, coolly enveloping the room.

The surroundings were silent.

Cherry took deep breaths, preparing herself, and gently placed her hand on one baby’s forehead.

In a moment, a misty soul slowly seeped out from the mouth, nose, and ears...
