Many powerful underworld factions in Green City are backed by great nobles or wealthy merchants, just like how the Dark Pact is backed by Li De, a man of considerable influence in the city.
These are fundamental rules of how the world of Glory operates. So Stanley found the Lost Plane’s strange system incredibly curious.
Hun Yuan’s face twitched hard. Please don’t. If you ever go to Earth, who knows what you’ll turn it into?
“I’ll entrust this task to you.
Hun Yuan, you’re a smart man. The stronger the Immortal Souls become, the more it will benefit you all, because it’s a faction created specifically for the Undying to lead.
Don’t hold back your intelligence and talents. This will let you shine again in the Glory Main Plane and bring you even greater honor.”
A bitter smile flickered across Hun Yuan’s face. This NPC had completely outmaneuvered them.
“As you wish, Lord Stanley.”
Stanley nodded in satisfaction. He liked dealing with clever people, especially clever people who had signed contracts with him and whose fate was in his hands.
Then, as if remembering something, he asked another question.
“Are there any restrictions when you enter the world of Glory?”
Hun Yuan shook his head. “No restrictions, but…” He trailed off.
“But what?”
Hun Yuan smiled bitterly. “The time ratio between the Glory Main Plane and the Lost Plane is three to one. Three days pass here for every one day in the Lost Plane.”
‘Oh?’ Stanley frowned.
“Also, we have things to take care of in the Lost Plane too, so we often log out, or rather, our consciousness returns to the Lost Plane.
But while we’re gone, our bodies remain here in the world of Glory, completely defenseless.”
Given this NPC’s intelligence, he would’ve figured it out sooner or later, so Hun Yuan simply laid it all out.
Stanley’s expression became solemn.
Hun Yuan’s words presented a thorny issue. These Undying weren’t as invincible as he had thought.
As long as one seized the moment when their consciousness returned to the Lost Plane, these Undying would have no ability to resist.
But this realization also brought Stanley a bit of relief. The Undying’s power had been giving him considerable pressure.
The thought of possibly becoming enemies with beings that couldn’t be killed had been weighing heavily on him. Now that he understood their weaknesses, some of that pressure lifted.
As long as there’s a weakness, there’s a countermeasure. They’re not truly invincible, that’s what matters.
“There’s a simple solution to this,” Stanley said, his eyes flashing thoughtfully.
There’s a solution to this too?
Hun Yuan, Thunderhands, and Cheng Kun exchanged glances, their expressions complex and intense.
Even Hun Yuan, the designated brain of the trio, couldn’t help but twitch violently at the corner of his mouth.
This damn NPC, are we even allowed to live??
At that moment, he couldn’t help but feel sorry for the future players entering the world of Glory. If they encountered an NPC this smart, they’d probably end up selling themselves, helping him count the money, and then thanking him for the privilege.
Stanley, oblivious to the mental trauma he was causing, continued pondering ways to address their frequent log-outs.
“Hun Yuan, can you contact each other quickly in the Lost Plane?”
“Of course!” Cheng Kun answered before Hun Yuan could. “The Lost Plane may not have mana, but its alchemical technology is extremely advanced.
Even contacting a stranger several tens of thousands of kilometers away takes only a few seconds.”
He finished with a hint of pride. After being overwhelmed by Stanley’s nonstop barrage of intelligence, he finally found something to be proud of.
At least our tech is strong.
“Then there’s no problem,” Stanley said. “Hun Yuan, you can set up a branch of the Dark Pact in the Lost Plane to recruit Undying there.
In the future, you can appoint a communication officer. When necessary, that officer’s consciousness can return to the Lost Plane to notify you to come back to the Glory Main Plane.
In fact, if the number of Undying reaches a certain level, you could even organize them in shifts to return.”
Pfft~ cough cough cough!
The three of them choked on their own spit and started coughing violently.
They stared at each other, seeing the same shock and... humiliation in each other's eyes.
What the hell did this NPC just say?? He wants us to establish a Dark Pact branch on Earth?!!
Did I get struck by lightning and start hallucinating??
You're an NPC, damn it! Get a grip!!
It’s one thing to want us to recruit players into your faction, but now you want to reach into Earth? To set up a branch on Earth??
Even sci-fi movies wouldn’t dare write something like this.
The three players were on the verge of a breakdown. This NPC was definitely a monster, absolutely beyond normal.
After playing so many virtual games, this was the first time they felt a sense of awe toward an NPC’s intelligence, like staring up at a towering mountain.
Hun Yuan’s expression was complex. He took a few deep breaths to calm himself before explaining.
“Lord Stanley, setting up a branch like you described would require a lot of RMB, I mean, Gold Pucks. We’re just students at a school in the Lost Plane. We don’t have that kind of money or capability.”
Hearing this, Stanley nodded slightly.
What Hun Yuan said aligned with his assessment. Based on their behavior, these Lost Plane natives were indeed quite young.
After a moment of silence, he spoke slowly. “Let’s discuss the branch establishment later. For now, you can carry out the first step.”
“The first step?”
“Yes. Announce the news of the Dark Pact in the Lost Plane and begin recruiting Undying.
These people will be your subordinates in the future. Hun Yuan, this is not just for the Dark Pact, it’s for your own sake.
Do your best. With the protection of Lord Iro, the Dark Pact offers you boundless possibilities. Don’t let me, or Lord Iro, down.”
Hun Yuan nodded with tears in his eyes. This damn NPC left him no room to resist. It was blatant manipulation.
If he didn’t do it, he’d be the one to lose out. Stanley could easily replace them with other players, and their current cushy advantage would be gone.
Forget commanding dozens of Level 5 NPC lackeys, at that point, they’d be out hauling sacks to make ends meet.
“Lord Stanley, we won’t let you down.”
