Chapter 1131 - 1131 289_5

1131: Chapter 289_5 1131: Chapter 289_5 Cao Zhen emphasized, “I’m worried that the night might be dangerous.”

“No need to worry, with me here, no one will dare to trouble us,” Bi Yue Immortal expressed a strong confidence.

Cao Zhen gently shook his head, never mind, if Bi Yue didn’t want to find a place to stay, then they might as well continue their search.

Perhaps, this peerless relic posed no danger at night.

Besides, both he and Bi Yue Immortal were at the very limit of the Golden Core Stage.

If there really was any danger, they should be able to escape.

The night grew darker, and the relic, which seemed like an Immortal Realm during the day and scarcely showed any Strange Beasts, now echoed with the roars of these creatures as the sky darkened.

These howls included the cries of wolves, the chirping of birds, the screeching of giant eagles, and even the faint sound of a dragon’s roar.

The myriad of sounds mixed together, instantly making this world seem much more dangerous.

Cao Zhen was puzzled; it was the same place where he and Bi Yue hadn’t encountered many Strange Beasts during the day, but why were there so many roars at dusk?

Could it be that these Strange Beasts hid during the day and only came out at night?

Among these roars were fierce tiger growls.

“Tiger roars?”

A look of excitement flashed across Bi Yue Immortal’s face—they were looking for tiger skin and bones.

But in the next moment, a look of confusion appeared on her face and slowly, her brows furrowed.

“Why do the roars seem to come from all directions?

And the sounds…

they’re slightly different.

Which way should we go, or should we just pick a direction at random?”

“Go west,” Cao Zhen pointed in a direction and said, “There’s a tiger roar from there that sounds vaguely similar to the drum sounds from the high tower.

The drums must be made from the hides and bones of such a beast.”

Bi Yue Immortal stared blankly at Cao Zhen, her face filled with amazement.

Could he really discern that from the sounds?

Was Cao Zhen able to determine which Strange Beast we should seek just like that?

She thought of the exceptional level Cao Zhen had shown when he struck the drum with all his might before and, although she was surprised, she chose to believe in him.

The two quickly flew off into the distance.

During the day, they couldn’t find a Strange Beast no matter how hard they tried, but now, as they flew through the night, their presence immediately drew the attention of various Strange Beasts.

In the darkness, a Strange Beast about twenty feet long, with a wolf-like head and bat-like wings, soared into the air and swooped toward the duo.

As the Strange Beast flew, it suddenly opened its mouth and, in the next instant, a Flame snake shot out, illuminating the pitch-black sky with blinding brightness.

The Flame increased the surrounding temperature dramatically.

This was a Strange Beast equivalent to the later stages of the Golden Core Stage.

However, before its flame could reach Bi Yue Immortal and Cao Zhen, Bi Yue waved her hand, and a violent gust of wind swept out from her sleeve.

The incoming flame was instantly extinguished, and with that, the wind enveloped the Strange Beast.

In the next moment, the body of the Strange Beast exploded with a thunderous noise.

Even though the beast was as powerful as one in the later stages of the Golden Core Stage, Bi Yue Immortal was at the limit of the Golden Core Period; the difference between their strengths was simply too great.

Flying alongside Cao Zhen, Bi Yue Immortal encountered many Strange Beasts that continuously attacked them.

Among them were beasts comparable to the ninth culmination of Pill Fusion in the Golden Core Stage and others akin to the Perfect Completion Golden Core Stage.

Cao Zhen even spotted a beast equivalent to the Ten Different Phenomena of Golden Elixir Great Perfection.

But to these beasts, Bi Yue Immortal was almost invincible, defeating them in nearly a single round.

Cao Zhen didn’t need to be distracted at all during their journey.

He only had one task, which was to listen and pinpoint the Giant Tiger Monster.

These beasts apparently had Spiritual Wisdom, too.

Realizing the incredible terror of the woman before them, especially after many of their kind had fallen to her hand, they eventually gave up.

They no longer pursued the woman but fled into the distance instead.

Clearly, they weren’t the only ones venturing through the night.

While Bi Yue could fend off these beasts, others did not have Bi Yue’s formidable strength.

In the night sky, screams could still be heard, along with the sounds of Divine Skills exploding.

“Roar!”

Suddenly, another thunderous roar sounded.

“It’s over there, that’s the roar of the Strange Beast.”

Cao Zhen quickly alerted Bi Yue Immortal.

No sooner had he spoken than Bi Yue, wielding her Divine Weapon, charged ahead with him.

Moments later, before his eyes appeared a smooth Great Stone, atop which a fierce tiger let out a mighty roar skyward.

The tiger appeared to be over forty feet long, with a tail that seemed to stretch for more than ten feet by itself.

On their way, they had encountered numerous Strange Beasts, but none had an aura as strong as that emanating from this Giant Tiger Monster.

Upon seeing humans, the tiger’s wild eyes instantly turned their way, along with a raw, brutal, and bloody scent.

This aura meant the tiger had definitely attained the strength of the Ten Different Phenomena of Golden Elixir Great Perfection and, even within that rank, it was an exceptionally strong being.
