Chapter 1342: Chapter 1343: I Gave You a Chance but You Were Useless!
“Holy crap, they’re alive!”
“They’ve really all come back to life!”
“No doubt, it must be that Divine Child’s doing. Could it really be the Blood Sun Heavenly Egg that hatched them?”
“It’s been over a month, right? Besides these ones, could he have hatched a whole batch of Saint Realm cultivators too?”
Looking at the Blood Demon Sect Elders who had appeared, Huazi and the others’ expressions changed dramatically. His guess seemed to have hit the mark. All of the Blood Demon Sect’s ten-odd Core Elders, who had participated in the Western Continent’s disputes, had now all come back to life without exception, and were standing perfectly fine right in front of them.
“They’re really alive?”
“Are you all truly born from the Blood Sun Heavenly Egg? Speak the truth and you might still have a chance to live, otherwise, you shall face obliteration without mercy!”
Li Xiaobai stood with his hands behind his back and spoke in a calm tone.
With just one thought, the Godzillas lingering in the void could instantly go berserk and shred this group into mincemeat. Perhaps he hadn’t brought enough Godzillas, but it didn’t matter. If he willed it, he could summon a massive batch of Saint Realm Godzillas at any time and place.
If this conflict continued, this group would only repeat the Western Continent’s fate. He had plenty of money to burn—when money talks, who can challenge its authority? He could literally obliterate them by throwing money around.
“Trespassers in the Forbidden Land shall be executed without pardon!”
“Those who offend the Blood Sun Heavenly Egg Clan shall be executed without mercy!”
More than ten Saint Realm experts with cold and sinister auras spoke dispassionately. Their eyes gleamed with more vitality than the Blood Fiend Elder from earlier. Perhaps, since they’d been hatched earlier, they had adapted to their physical bodies and environment.
The Shadow Assassin Dan Dao was the first to strike. In the void, a massive gray shadow peeled away, wielding a gigantic scythe that glimmered with silver light as it slashed toward Li Xiaobai’s head to claim it.
“No way to reason with them. These guys aren’t human anymore.”
Li Xiaobai took a leisurely drag from his Huazi cigarette, then issued the command to the distant Godzilla in the void: “Take him down!”
“Roar!”
As soon as the words left his mouth, an enormous beastly claw appeared in front of the gray scythe, grabbing the silver light with one squeeze. Thunder arcs crackled violently in the void, radiating an alarming and oppressive energy.
“It’s an ambush!”
The other Saint Realm experts growled quietly. They quickly flickered into motion, scattering in an attempt to evade Godzilla’s wrath and attacks on Li Xiaobai.
But it was all in vain. Several earth-shaking roars echoed from the depths of the void as more Saint Realm Godzillas stormed forth, each slamming a Blood Demon Sect Core Elder to the ground and grinding them into dust.
Setting up a complex Formation like the Four Red Sun Formation would be the only way to destroy Godzilla. However, with Godzilla launching a sudden, ferocious attack, these people had no chance to deploy any such formations.
In merely a few breaths’ time, the Blood Demon Sect’s experts were swiftly subdued.
“Now could we perhaps have a civilized conversation?”
“I’m quite curious how you’ve returned to life. Were you indeed hatched from the Blood Sun Heavenly Egg?”
Li Xiaobai, with his Huazi cigarette between his lips, approached, smiling faintly as he questioned them.
“Kill me!”
The Shadow Assassin Dan Dao’s tone was defiant, uttering only those words. The others responded similarly, each seeking death without care for the Saint Realm beasts currently suppressing them overhead.
“Hmph, acting tough now won’t do you any good. You only rely on that Divine Child to resurrect you endlessly. Once this Peak Master invades the Divine Child’s den and annihilates you Blood Sun Heavenly Egg Clan entirely, let’s see how long you can remain defiant!”
Li Xiaobai snorted coldly, delivering icy words.
“You insolent brat! Just you, a mere yellow-haired kid, dare challenge the authority of my Blood Sun Heavenly Egg Clan!”
“Utter nonsense! I sense thick malice from you—malice that stems from the mark of my Blood Sun Heavenly Egg Clan! You’ve killed members of my clan before, haven’t you?”
The Silver Demon Elder cursed furiously, his face twisted with anger, appearing monstrous and terrifying.
Since the pretense was shattered, there was no need to hide anything. Everyone openly revealed their affiliations—they indeed belonged to the Blood Sun Heavenly Egg Clan and had recognized Li Xiaobai.
“That’s right, I killed them. And your comrades died very casually too. This Peak Master accidentally stomped one to pulp!”
“So what? Not satisfied? Then come fight me!”
“Now, cooperate obediently with this Peak Master, and you might still have a sliver of hope for survival. Otherwise, it’s a dead end for all of you!”
Li Xiaobai’s eyes glowed with chilling killing intent as his tone turned frosty.
The monstrous pressure from the void intensified as the giant feet of several Godzillas pressed down harder. In mere moments, the sound of bones breaking filled the air, along with anguished cries and spurts of fresh blood. Faces turned pale as death, resembling paper money.
“You really don’t want to die right after coming back to life, do you?”
“Speak up. How many Saint Realm experts like you are still down below? And what’s the scale of your Blood Sun Heavenly Egg clan?”
Li Xiaobai asked bluntly.
“Th-there are still dozens of Saint Realm experts below. The Blood Sun Heavenly Egg Clan has formidable reproductive capabilities. If they all hatch, forming thousands of Saint Realm cultivators wouldn’t be a problem.”
Dan Dao ultimately yielded. Godzilla had just crushed one of his legs, and he had deeply realized the terror of his opponent. With little effort, they could kill him, and no one wanted to die without reason—not even these egg-born creatures.
“Dozens more? That’s quite the pace.”
“How exactly were you hatched? Saint Realm experts don’t just spontaneously spawn, right?”
Li Xiaobai continued questioning.
“To hatch anything requires a part of it. For instance, hatching a Saint Realm expert requires a piece of their flesh. After hatching, we can seize their flesh and inherit the cultivation level and strength they had when alive.”
Dan Dao explained slowly.
“So that’s how it is.”
Li Xiaobai nodded.
“Currently, there aren’t thousands of Saint Realm experts on the Central Origin Realm for you guys to hatch from. That Divine Child can at most hatch a few dozen—it’s already reaching his limit.”
Huazi interjected, believing that this method of hatching posed little threat now that its mechanics were exposed. Needing a Saint Realm expert’s piece of flesh as a prerequisite automatically limited the Divine Child’s ability to mass-produce.
Li Xiaobai also felt a bit of relief, but Dan Dao’s next words made their hearts tighten once more.
“The Divine Child has lived for over a thousand years, during which Saint Realm experts have died countless times. It’s safe to assume he has plenty of flesh samples. As long as he has enough time, he could allow my Blood Sun Heavenly Egg Clan to rise to glory!”
“Li Xiaoyou, in truth, you’ve misunderstood both the Divine Child and my Blood Sun Heavenly Egg Clan. We only wish to live peacefully within the Central Origin Realm and have no grand ambitions. We could really communicate civilly—you might even let me brew some tea and invite the Divine Child for a sit-down with you?”
A stiff smile emerged on Dan Dao’s unfamiliar face. Clearly, he wasn’t entirely in control of his body yet and felt alien to it. His attempt at smiling looked even worse than crying.
“No need. To be blunt, I know your Blood Sun Heavenly Egg Clan has always been vindictive. As they say, ‘strike while the enemy’s weak to finish them off.’ Do you think this Peak Master would keep you as an unstable variable?”
“Kill!”
Li Xiaobai spoke coldly, and massive feet descended from the void, accompanied by lightning and storming flames, obliterating the Saint Realm experts below in an instant.
Having killed members of the Blood Sun Heavenly Egg Clan before, and now marked by their clan, there was no way he would trust such a vengeful group to willingly engage in amicable negotiations.
“Boom! Boom! Boom!”
The ground shuddered with each strike, thunder arcs danced, and blinding sparks erupted—a sight that left people’s hearts pounding.
The Blood Demon Sect Core Elders were completely subdued and crushed into pulp. Their Dantian were utterly empty—there wasn’t anything to loot, not even Sin Values. As newly-hatched beings, they had nothing to offer; killing them yielded no profit.
“Damn, kid, you’re ruthless. With these beasts, you might just be able to crush the Divine Child and dominate everything!”
Ergouzi was ecstatic—it had been a long time since he’d had a moment to shine like this.
“There are still dozens of Saint Realm experts below. I suspect the Divine Child has become aware of us and is preparing for a counterstrike.”
“Fortunately, the Blood Sun Heavenly Eggs have just been freshly hatched. They’re not yet adept at utilizing their bodies—this is a good window to suppress them.”
Li Xiaobai sank his mind into the System Mall, dropped a staggering hundred billion, and summoned another ten Saint Realm Godzillas, which melded into the void and leaped into the cavity below.
“Roar!”
One after another, the Godzillas emerged fully revealed and charged around recklessly. It was clear that this was the Divine Child’s base. Naturally, they intended to cause utter chaos.
Above the cavity, Li Xiaobai and the others calmly sat in lotus positions, showing no intention of descending. This battlefield belonged to Saint Realm experts and top-tier cultivators—it wasn’t their place to intervene. They simply had to wait for the outcome.
“Hey kid, do you think we can really crush the Divine Child?”
“Did you bring enough demonic beasts?”
Ergouzi eyed him nervously, recalling Dan Dao’s final words about the dozens of Saint Realm experts below, as well as the Divine Child presiding over the battle—a frightening opponent indeed.
“Relax, no problem. Saint Realm beasts, you want them—I’ve got them.”
Li Xiaobai puffed on his Huazi cigarette, speaking nonchalantly, entirely unconcerned about the number of experts below.
He only needed to keep his eyes on the System panel’s fluctuating figures. If too many Godzillas died, he’d simply burn more money to summon reinforcements.
Even as they conversed, System Attribute Points began to climb wildly.
[Attribute Points + 100 million…]
[Attribute Points + 120 million…]
[Attribute Points + 130 million…]
[Attribute Points + 150 million…]
[…]
The Godzillas had barely entered the fray when they encountered fierce resistance. Clearly, the forces below were well-prepared. If not for the additional ten Godzillas Li Xiaobai had tossed in earlier, they might have struggled to hold their ground.
“This counterattack is pretty brutal. Let’s drop some more money.”
With a thought, another ten Saint Realm Godzillas silently descended into the abyss, joining the chaos below.
Huazi and the others couldn’t see the events unfolding below—they could only witness periodic bursts of brilliant flames, followed by the raging movements of thundering dragons, emanating an overwhelming energy of unparalleled strength!
“Who the hell is attacking our Blood Demon Sect!”
“Who dares to have such audacity! What are these demonic beasts, why haven’t we seen them before?”
“Holy crap, these things are insanely tough! Nothing seems to hurt them!”
“Where’s the Divine Child? Bring him out to fight!”
Cries and curses erupted from the depths of the cavity, most expressing confusion and disbelief over the sheer power of the Godzillas, unable to comprehend their origin.
The ground trembled, the earth cracked, fissures spread, and waves of battle energy flooded outward. Huazi and the others shivered under the impact—the collision between top-tier experts was truly terrifying. If they were thrown into the fray, they likely wouldn’t last more than three seconds.
There was a mix of trepidation and relief. They were fortunate Li Xiaobai had accompanied them. Without him, this venture would have been more of an outright suicide mission than a daring pursuit of fortune.
The violent shocks persisted for several minutes before gradually subsiding. An intuition suggested that the number of opponents below had dwindled, lessening the ferocity of the conflict.
Li Xiaobai strolled to the edge of the cavity and shouted loudly:
“People below, listen up! You’re surrounded! If you want to survive, immediately kneel, clasp your hands over your heads, and squat down in place. You’ve got ten breaths to comply. Anyone failing to do so will be killed without hesitation!”
As soon as his voice fell, a sinister, chilling voice echoed from inside the cavity:
“Li Xiaobai, you’ve meddled far too much. This sect is merely cultivating its forces here—what business is it of your Sword Sect?”
“Beichen Feng should have already warned you. Youngster, you’d better listen to his advice—or you’ll suffer severe consequences!”
The voice was raspy, carrying a faint sharp undertone. Though unfamiliar, Li Xiaobai instantly recognized the speaker: the Divine Child!
Of course, he wasn’t certain if this Divine Child was authentic. If it turned out to be another imposter like before, they’d have wasted their effort.
“Hmph!”
“Your ten breaths are up. Let’s see who dares to resist!”
“Divine Child, this Peak Master gave you a chance, but alas, you’re useless!”
Li Xiaobai’s figure blurred as he leaped into the abyss, descending into the scene below. The cavernous world below was now illuminated as bright as day. Godzillas towered in one corner while cultivators stood in formation across from them.
But upon closer inspection, Li Xiaobai froze momentarily—astonished to find only nine Godzillas remaining out of the dozens he’d summoned. Meanwhile, the opposing cultivators still stood in full numbers.
As it turned out, the Blood Demon Sect hadn’t suffered significant losses. His Saint Realm Godzillas, however, were on the verge of extinction!
“Ah, damn…”
Huazi and the others descended and, upon witnessing the situation, similarly gawked in disbelief—they seemed to have seriously miscalculated.
A figure cloaked in dark mist strolled casually under the lights, casting a playful glance at Li Xiaobai as he spoke:
“So, whose chance were you talking about earlier? And who, pray tell, proved useless?”
