Chapter 392 Lifting a Stone to Drop it on One's Own Feet
"Blue River, you're despicable!" Front Car shouted, finally understanding. Blue River's constant stalling was to wait for reinforcements. And his reinforcements were a bit too powerful, so powerful that Front Car couldn't deal with them at all, only able to let out an angry roar on the lake's surface. Then, his character suddenly spun out of control. A stream of water shot up from beneath him, launching Front Car into the air. He tried to adjust his view and saw that his three companions were experiencing the same fate.
Almost at the same time, how did Lord Grim manage to blast all four of them away? Front Car couldn't imagine it. He only saw, for a fleeting moment, a fifth person emerge from the water, his ID above his head: that hateful and helpless "Lord Grim."
Front Car now only had two thoughts in his mind.
First, despise Blue River.
Second, how to escape.
There would be a chance, right...? Front Car trembled inwardly. Lord Grim was Ye Qiu, no doubt, but he had four people on his side. If they scattered, surely three of them could escape? He just didn't know who the enemy would target first.
As Front Car was pondering, he saw Lord Grim resolutely swimming towards him. Tears welled up in his eyes. On second thought, his guess was unnecessary. As a dignified guild leader, wasn't this enough mockery? Did he really need to consider who the hatred would be directed at?
Seeing that it was a foregone conclusion, Front Car had no choice but to act with the responsibility of a guild leader, shouting, "Run!"
"Run where?" Someone picked up the conversation, the voice different but the tone extremely familiar. Front Car was furious when he heard it. The voice was Blue River's, mimicking his tone when he was chasing after him and throwing Star Bullets.
"Blue River, you spineless coward, I despise you! Have the guts to fight me one-on-one," Front Car yelled.
Blue River wasn't exactly feeling at ease either. He hadn't initially intended to help the Great God find information, but the information had come to him. First, he was annoyed at facing someone from Herb Garden, and second, the Great God had happened to message him about information at the time, so Blue River had conveniently given him the situation. The Great God then pointed him in a direction, and Blue River swam like crazy, indeed getting reinforcements, instantly reversing the situation. But now, Front Car's accusations left Blue River speechless.
But then Ye Xiu responded, "One-on-one? You think this is a competition! The point of playing online games is to have more people bullying the fewer. And you're still a guild leader, your comprehension is terrible."
As he spoke, Front Car, who was falling from the sky, was attacked by Lord Grim, and then a scene unfolded that made everyone who saw it think it was unbelievable.
"Damn it! He can do infinite aerial combos in the water too?" Front Car was in tears, not even getting a chance to fall into the water.
"Don't get too absorbed in watching! Keep an eye on the people in your hands! I'm talking to you, Thousand Creations!" Ye Xiu shouted.
"Ah? Oh!" Someone responded from the other direction. Thousand Creations had been distracted and the opponent he was entangled with was already trying to escape. He hurriedly chased after him.
Only now did Front Car realize that it wasn't just Lord Grim who had come. Soft Mist, Thousand Creations, and Blue River, were all there, one for each of his three brothers.
Front Car was completely speechless. Even a Great God like Ye Qiu was playing the numbers game. What could he say?
Finally, the constant aerial juggling stopped, and Front Car fell to the surface of the water. His life had come to an end, and with a belly full of resentment, he returned to the city.
"How is it? Can you guys hold them off?" Ye Xiu turned to ask the three.
"No, no, hurry and come help." The voice was female, naturally coming from Soft Mist's side. If someone familiar was there, they would definitely be shocked because how could Tang Rou say such a thing? The truth was that the person controlling Soft Mist wasn't Tang Rou, but Chen Guo. Tang Rou was working the front desk at the moment, and it was the evening rush hour, so she didn't have time to play the game. So Chen Guo had been temporarily drafted.
Although Chen Guo also admired Ye Qiu and knew everything about the Battle Mage class, and even leveled a small account, she hadn't seriously played it. To her, it was still a class that was awkward to control. And she was facing the elite of a big guild, whose skill level was higher than hers. She was barely managing, and if she continued to be entangled, she might be killed.
Fortunately, Ye Xiu was quick and efficient, eliminating Front Car in less than a minute. This Herb Garden elite wasn't capable of killing Chen Guo, who was also considered a veteran player, in a minute. Ye Xiu decisively came to support, and the situation immediately became as simple as one plus one. Chen Guo also took the opportunity to retaliate wildly. But in the water, and with an unfamiliar class, her skills often landed on Ye Xiu's Lord Grim. Fortunately, friendly fire was negated, otherwise Lord Grim might have taken as much damage as their opponent.
The second person was eliminated. Looking at the other two sides, Blue River was fighting steadily, dealing with his opponent, and was temporarily evenly matched. On the other side, Thousand Creations had let his opponent escape due to his earlier distraction, and was now trying hard to catch up, gradually closing the distance with the help of the Battle Mage's Chasers.
Ye Xiu saw this and immediately directed Lord Grim to rush towards Thousand Creations, while instructing Chen Guo, "Go help Blue River over there."
"Okay." Chen Guo obediently swam over and raised her hand for a Dragon Tooth, but a wave splashed, and her character lurched to the side. The Dragon Tooth, which was originally aimed at the Herb Garden player, shifted a body length and stabbed at Blue River. Fortunately, Blue River had also moved slightly, and the Dragon Tooth missed, only brushing past his body.
"Miss, whose side are you on?" Blue River cried out in shock.
"Sorry, accident," Chen Guo apologized, feeling ashamed.
"Quickly add me to the team, add me to the team!" Blue River shouted. Lord Grim and the others had come as a team, but Blue River wasn't in the team, so he didn't have damage negation. If that Dragon Tooth had hit him, it would have been the same as being injured by the opponent.
"Add him to the team," Chen Guo said, afraid that Ye Xiu hadn't heard. Ye Xiu turned his character around while chasing and sent a team invite to Blue River, who quickly accepted.
Chen Guo controlled Soft Mist, keeping a little distance from Blue River. Ye Xiu was familiar with her, so it was okay, but in front of strangers, Chen Guo couldn't be too embarrassed. Her subsequent attacks were cautious.
Blue River was already stronger than his opponent, and now with a little extra help, his advantage was even more obvious. He quickly gained the upper hand. And his opponent had no fighting spirit at all, knowing that no matter how strong he was, he would be dead the moment Lord Grim freed himself, so he had been thinking about how to escape. But Blue River was experienced, giving him no chance at all. Finally, with Chen Guo's help, this elite couldn't even hold on until Lord Grim came to attack him, and died by Blue River's sword.
"Blue River, you're shameless!" This brother didn't forget to embody their guild leader's spirit as he died.
Being said that in front of a girl, Blue River was quite embarrassed. But Chen Guo didn't care about that at all. Seeing that the opponent had been dealt with, she immediately looked in the direction where Ye Xiu and Thousand Creations had chased after them: "How's it going over there?"
"Will there be suspense?" Blue River wasn't worried at all.
"Silly, what am I looking at here?" Chen Guo said something that Blue River found a little baffling, and turned to look at Ye Xiu's screen.
Ye Xiu had just caught up, and as Blue River had said, there was no suspense at all. After a series of attacks, Thousand Creations' help was just ruining the aesthetic for Chen Guo.
"Are you guys done over there?" Ye Xiu easily finished off this person and asked Chen Guo.
"Done." Chen Guo held up her fingers in a V shape.
Ye Xiu nodded, and sent a message to Blue River while swimming back: "Not bad, not bad, you brought four people over in one go. You're quite mocking!"
"..." Blue River was speechless.
"Keep up the good work!" Ye Xiu said.
"..." Still speechless.
"Don't be too afraid. There are many choices for movement in the water, and most players are unfamiliar with it. If you can escape a little longer, I'll be there soon," Ye Xiu said.
"I'm going to level up..." Blue River didn't want to say anything.
"You're busy, you're busy, let me know if you need anything!" Ye Xiu replied.
Blue River's actions were naturally exposed by Front Car, and he was severely criticized by the seven guilds. But as the situation continued to develop, they finally discovered that it wasn't just Blue River who was behaving this way. It was everyone in Blue Brook Guild, and everyone in Tyrannical Ambition.
These two guilds had rejoined the fight, but this time, they were standing on Lord Grim's side, acting as accomplices and bullying the other guilds. This made the seven guilds even more furious, but there was nothing they could do. It wasn't easy for them to kill a player target in the water, and the people from these two guilds would call for Lord Grim as soon as they were targeted.
Lord Grim, a dignified professional god, didn't care about anything and came whenever he was called, like a summoned beast. The players from the two guilds had apparently stopped being their targets of attack, and had become bait to lure them in.
Even more shameless was that these baits were arrogant and wandered around Thousand Wave Lake, trying to get close to the fish, and couldn't be shaken off. Then Lord Grim would soon be summoned and would catch all the fish in one fell swoop.
The people from the seven guilds cried.
They only had to be careful to avoid the few people from the Happy guild, but now they found that the number of people they had to avoid had suddenly increased. Attacking the people from the two major guilds was apparently like shooting themselves in the foot!
"Is there a difference?" But some guild leaders were still comforting themselves: "These two were already on that side anyway. Whether we chase after them or not, they will turn around and help Ye Qiu find us. Is there a difference between whether we kill them or not?"
"There's no difference, but the problem is, we're far less effective at killing people in the water than Ye Qiu. In such a fight, not only have we not regained our standing, but we've suffered even more losses. How many people were killed instead of killing today?"
Everyone was silent. They didn't bother to count how many people had been killed. And Ye Xiu, on the other hand, drew a lot of "x"s in his notebook. (To be continued, if you want to know what happens next, please log in, there are more chapters, support the author, support genuine reading!)
