Chapter 884 Melancholy Little Cat

Chapter 1 Guardian Angel

The Guardian Angel, like the Knight and Priest, is a job within the Holy Order.

This class itself is proficient in plate armor, providing great defensive power. Add to that healing abilities comparable to Priests and skills that increase defense, and it's common for Guardian Angels to act as MTs (main tanks). However, it's rare to see someone like Ye Xiu, a Guardian Angel who can both tank and heal; that requires a high level of skill. But since he is known as the Glory Textbook, no one doubts he can pull it off.

After dividing into teams, Ye Xiu rummaged through his drawers for account cards, while Chen Guo hurried back to the main city market to find some equipment for the soon-to-be-used Guardian Angel. The others were either buying supplies or repairing equipment, eager to get ready and go for the first kill.

At this moment, only one person was incredibly frustrated: Mo Fan.

Everyone received the experience reward for the first kill, but as for equipment, nothing usable for Deception was dropped.

However, Mo Fan wasn't concerned about that at all; he was focused on output.

When the final Boss, Yinshan Tiger, was killed, he immediately checked the output statistics. As expected, the output statistics weren't accurate this time. Lord Grim, Xia槍 (Xiao Qiang), Steamed Bun Invasion, and Chasing Haze, who were responsible for chasing and killing the Boss Yinshan Tiger, had far higher output. The other characters, entangled with the summoned beasts and focused only on restricting them rather than killing them, would appear to have been carried through the instance to anyone unfamiliar with the dungeon's mechanics.

Mo Fan was eager to prove himself, but he ran into a Boss like this, leaving him incredibly frustrated. Once the Boss was defeated, he immediately checked the output statistics himself. But Ye Xiu? He used to show everyone the statistics after each Boss, but this time he didn't mention it at all, instead excitedly looking at the first kill rewards with everyone else.

Mo Fan sullenly followed the others to look at the rewards until he heard they were going to continue farming the dungeon, which perked him up. However, he was slightly disappointed when he heard they would be splitting into two teams to farm. He preferred being in the competitive environment of ten people.

But having something to fight for was better than ending it like this.

The team division was quickly completed.

Wei Chen, Tang Rou, Qiao Yifan, Luo Ji, and An Wenyi formed one team.

Mo Fan was with the remaining Ye Xiu, Steamed Bun Invasion, Wu Chen, and Chen Guo.

Wei Chen's team restocked and set off first after saying their goodbyes. On their side, Ye Xiu was still dawdling, looking for an account card and hearing that it was an empty account, he needed to get equipment, which made Mo Fan anxious, so anxious.

After circling the market, Chen Guo quickly acquired the equipment.

With the new level cap, most level 70 equipment, except for orange gear, faced a complete wipeout. This early stage of exploration was probably the last chance to sell them. As a result, the market was flooded with all kinds of level 70 equipment; no one was hiding anything anymore.

Equipment that was once unattainable was quickly gathered by Chen Guo after circling around, all of it top-tier level 70 purple gear, with prices no longer what they used to be. As for level 70 orange gear, its stats were comparable to level 75 purple gear, so it wouldn't be eliminated at level 75. However, once a large number of level 75 purple gear flooded the market, level 70 orange gear would no longer be expensive. But for now, orange gear was still hard to come by. Ye Xiu's Guardian Angel was only for temporary use, so there was no need for such extravagance. Purple gear was fine, Ye Xiu said himself, so Chen Guo didn't worry about whether the purple gear was sufficient.

They found the account card, logged in, received the equipment from Chasing Haze, and the second team set off as well. Mo Fan was itching to show off, determined to put out some impressive damage in this five-person team.

There were many five-person dungeons. In the Lieling Mountains alone, there were two. And the five-person dungeons were basically an intermediate stage for players to accumulate equipment, with the difficulty and rewards not on the same level as the team dungeons. But right now, Ye Xiu and his team weren't hoping to get anything good from the dungeons, they were after the rewards for the first kill record. These rewards mainly came from competition between players, so it didn't have much to do with the difficulty of the dungeon. As a result, the rewards were comparable, with a high chance of dropping the most luxurious orange gear.

Wei Chen's team entered the dungeon first, and Ye Xiu and his five had no choice but to enter the remaining five-person dungeon, the Wind and Snow Mine in the Lieling Mountains.

No one bothered with the dungeon's background story; they found the entrance and went straight in.

Ye Xiu's Guardian Angel, as the MT, would of course charge to the front. Everyone met at the dungeon entrance and entered directly. It was only at this moment that the three, except Chen Guo, saw the name of Ye Xiu's alternate account, causing their stomachs to churn.

Ye Xiu's Guardian Angel was not only a female character, but the name made everyone feel that it didn't match the player's temperament at all.

Worried Little Kitty…

Even someone as cold as Mo Fan was twitching at the corners of his mouth. Wu Chen was more composed, but he found it hard to bear and lowered his head, almost burying it under the keyboard.

Only Steamed Bun, with his straightforward personality, stepped forward and circled Worried Little Kitty twice before asking, "Who are you? Did you join the wrong team?"

"Ahem..." Chen Guo coughed, she had seen the account name when she gave the character the equipment, and the discomfort had already occurred then. She stepped in to defend Ye Xiu, "It's just an alternate account, don't mind it too much."

"Whose alternate account?" Steamed Bun asked in surprise.

"Your boss," Chen Guo said.

"Truly extraordinary!" Steamed Bun continued to be amazed, circling around twice more.

"Alright, alright, let's start the dungeon." Ye Xiu's voice came from Worried Little Kitty, "It's a small dungeon, so I won't say too much, we'll study it as we go."

Ye Xiu spoke generously, partly because he was the healer himself this time, so he was confident he could control the situation. After speaking, his Worried Little Kitty charged forward. The heavy plate armor couldn't hide the female character's graceful figure, and as they watched the figure dive into the monsters, everyone coughed to cover up their inner emotions.

The Guardian Angel was a class that could serve as an MT, but it wasn't as mainstream as the Knight. A significant reason was that the Guardian Angel generated aggro slowly, making it somewhat passive. Unlike a Knight, who could charge forward and let the other classes start attacking. The Guardian Angel needed everyone to give the MT some time to work.

The graceful Worried Little Kitty carried a heavy Hell Rock Battle Axe, but compared to the contrast between the player and the character, the contrast between the weapon and the character had been completely ignored.

Worried Little Kitty, charging into the monsters, tossed the Hell Rock Battle Axe into the air. It quickly transformed into a shooting star, falling straight down and causing the ground to shake.

This was a low-level skill below level 20 for the Exorcist class of the Holy Order: Starfall. It was a common technique used by Ye Xiu as a Guardian Angel to pull aggro from the group of monsters.

As for control, Ye Xiu obviously had no problems. After the teammates recovered from those contrasts, they charged in and began their output.

These were just mobs in a five-person dungeon; with their skill level, even with a five-level difference, it wasn't a big deal. Ye Xiu basically didn't have to command; everyone relied on their own skills to handle it with ease. Chen Guo was a little weaker, but she stayed in her lane, bombarding from a distance, and stayed safe.

Everything went smoothly, and any close calls were easily overcome. The one controlling the team's lifeline was Ye Xiu, and as long as health could be restored, no character would fall.

Using healing to solidify aggro was an important part of a Guardian Angel's role as MT. In reality, a high-level team like theirs wasn't really suited for a Guardian Angel as MT, because their individual skills were outstanding, resulting in more dodges and less damage taken, which lightened the healing burden.

In a standard team, a light healing burden was a good thing. But when a Guardian Angel was the MT, sometimes some healing burden was needed, as it compensated for the lack of damage compared to a Knight in generating aggro. So at this time, Ye Xiu sometimes had to sell his own health to the monsters, then heal himself to add to his own burden. The balance of this was, of course, entirely up to him to control.

Soon, the group reached the first Boss in the Wind and Snow Mine: Miner Head Zalu.

Zalu carried an oil lamp, which looked like his weapon. In terms of the 24 classes, this kind of carried weapon seemed to be only the crucifix commonly used by Priests, right?

But a Priest as a Boss... where would the attack power come from?

"I'll go first." Ye Xiu tested the waters again, and as Worried Little Kitty stepped into Zalu's aggro range, he saw Zalu flick his oil lamp, causing the oil inside to turn into a line and splash over. Then, with a flash of fire, a line of fire shot toward Worried Little Kitty with a "boom."

"Flame Jet!" Ye Xiu realized that he was dealing with a Gunner; this guy was using an oil lamp as a gun! That was quite novel.

Speaking, he started to operate. Worried Little Kitty's Hell Rock Battle Axe swept horizontally, with the axe face facing the spraying fire. At the moment of contact, a layer of white light appeared on the axe face, and the fire line turned, shooting in the direction of the Hell Rock Battle Axe's sweep.

Guardian Angel skill: Holy Light Strike, a defensive skill that completely deflects attacks, effective against both physical and magical attacks.

The deflecting fire line was, of course, designed by Ye Xiu to shoot back at Zalu himself.

This Boss didn't seem too clever. It didn't have time to dodge the deflected skill and was hit by the fire line with a "smack." It screamed twice and swung the oil lamp in its hand like a windmill, showering out oil like raindrops, but it was quickly ignited, making it look like a pile of fireballs raining down on Worried Little Kitty.

"Heh, that's interesting." This time, Ye Xiu simply didn't have Worried Little Kitty dodge, preparing to test the damage of this skill. He was instantly hit by several small fireballs, and while healing himself, he calculated and quickly figured it out.

"Let's go!" Ye Xiu felt that he had tested this Boss enough and didn't need to focus on it too much. With a shout, the other four began their output together.
