Hu Die Lan
Chapter Five: Skill Combinations
This time, the preparations for the tenth server were also sufficient, with each novice village evenly distributing the players who flooded in. Looking around, although there were many people, it was far from being overcrowded. However, the situation around the npCs who gave out quests was a different story. Everyone wanted to find this one npC to receive quests, and they swarmed up, immediately forming a团 (tuán, a tight knot). In Glory, there was no such thing as overlapping bodies or teleportation, so people were seen circling around and around, with those inside unable to get out and those outside unable to get in. Many players were jumping up and down, trying to get over the heads of others. But these level 0 newbies who had just entered the game had very poor jumping ability, and their height was not enough. Looking at them, one couldn't help but think of the lovely poem about jumping and jumping.
Even the strongest高手 (gāoshǒu, expert) was helpless in this situation. Chen Guo, who was watching from the side, couldn't help but laugh, with a "I knew it would be like this" look on her face. Finally, she glanced at Ye Xiu's character and made sure to remember his name: Jun Mo Xiao.
Amidst the constant spam of shouts from countless players, the situation gradually improved. How was it resolved? By creating an exit, allowing players who had completed the quest to exit, so that the situation could continue.
Ye Xiu commanded Jun Mo Xiao to painstakingly accept all the quests and began to complete them one by one. Novice villages were mainly for players to adapt to the game environment and controls, and the quests were all instructional in nature. Of course, Ye Xiu didn't need to be guided hand-by-hand. After experiencing monster抢 (qiǎng, stealing), queuing, squeezing, and other problems caused by the crowd, the first batch of quests that could be completed were finally completed. During the process, Chen Guo occasionally watched and commented. In the end, it took a full two hours to complete all these simple quests, causing Ye Xiu to sigh: What is a 高手 (gāoshǒu, expert)? In the ocean of people, a 高手 (gāoshǒu, expert) is just a floating cloud.
"Finally cleared them all, level 7." After Ye Xiu handed in the last quest and leveled up again, he turned to tell Chen Guo, only to see that Miss Chen had already leaned back in her chair and fallen asleep, with her head still facing his screen!
So, she was testing my all-night stamina? Ye Xiu scorned, took off his coat, threw it on Chen Guo, and turned back to continue his pioneering journey.
Opening the panel and taking a look, after this wave of quests, Jun Mo Xiao already had 340 skill points.
In Glory, learning and upgrading skills requires skill points, and different skills require different amounts, ranging from 10 to 50. Currently, a level 70 max-level character can have 4000 skill points after completing regular quests. But this is not the upper limit of skill points; the upper limit of skill points is 5000. But the remaining thousand requires a certain amount of luck and strength to obtain.
In the ten years of Glory, no account has ever had 5000 skill points. Even the top account known as Battle God, Yi Ye Zhi Qiu, only had 4840 skill points, still 160 points short. 160 is not much, but it is not little either. Using it all on ultimate moves that require 50 skill points can allow you to learn three more ultimate moves, or to improve one ultimate move by three levels. For a top高手 (gāoshǒu, expert), this is a great advantage.
Therefore, during novice quests, quests that reward experience and equipment can be ignored, but skill points cannot be missed. In addition to that, there are attribute points as rewards. Glory characters have four basic attributes: strength, intelligence, stamina, and spirit.
Strength affects attributes such as physical attack, defense, and load capacity.
Intelligence affects magical attack, defense, and the amount of mana.
Stamina naturally affects the amount of life and the character's durability.
Spirit enhances the effects of some status skills and the resistance to abnormal statuses.
The four major attributes naturally grow with the character's level. Only after the level 20 class change will there be different growth rates for each profession. As for the attribute rewards from quests, they are the same for everyone. Strength is strength, and intelligence is intelligence. Strength-based classes can only do quests that give strength, but quests that give intelligence rewards are also welcome.
In other words, without the growth correction after the class change, a max-level account that has completed all quests will have completely identical four basic attributes, with not the slightest difference. Therefore, all the quests that should be completed must be completed, and then rely on equipment to improve the attributes you need.
So, there was nothing to pay attention to regarding attributes at this time. After Ye Xiu looked at the panel, he immediately had Jun Mo Xiao learn skills with his skill points.
Glory has class changes at level 20. Before level 20, characters have no class, or it can be said that they are all classes. All class-based skills can be learned as long as you have enough skill points. This is to facilitate players to experience all aspects, so that they can find a class they are interested in at level 20. The level 20 class change system will restore skill points and relearn skills. But after the class change, you can only learn the skills of your own class, and don't even think about being a jack-of-all-trades again.
Ye Xiu doesn't remember how to do novice quests, doesn't remember how to clear novice dungeons, but he won't forget novice skills. Glory's skill balance is excellent. Even the lowest-level skills have their own uses, and everyone can choose their own set of skill combinations according to their preferences. After all, skill points are limited. Under normal circumstances, the 4000 skill points at max level cannot max out all skills, and even 5000 points are not enough, so you must make trade-offs.
Regarding the trade-offs of skills, a 高手 (gāoshǒu, expert) like Ye Xiu naturally has his own set. Although his Yi Ye Zhi Qiu's profession was only a Battle Mage, he himself was known as a textbook-level player, so how could he only be proficient in one profession? He must be proficient in all professions to be qualified.
Ye Xiu hardly thought about it and went to the general skill master to learn two general skills that could be learned at level 5: Sprint and Roll.
General skills are skills that all professions can learn. The two skills that Ye Xiu learned were very cheap, each costing 10 skill points, allowing the character to have two more movement options.
Sprint increases running speed. The skill has no cooldown, but it consumes durability. When durability is exhausted, it automatically returns to normal running speed. Durability can be restored by walking or standing still. Walking restores it slower, and standing still restores it faster.
As for Roll, it is self-explanatory, allowing the character to roll for movement. You can roll forward, roll backward, roll left, roll right, roll diagonally, roll while walking, roll while accelerating, and roll however the player wants. It also has no cooldown, but it requires durability to complete.
Ye Xiu also had a good grasp of which professional skills to learn next and knew very well which skills were most practical for him at this stage.
The first is Sky Strike, a Battle Mage skill. All professions have this type of launch skill, and they are all the same in nature. They cause the target to float after attacking. The higher the level, the higher the float, and the greater the damage. It is the most basic and most commonly used skill. After all, Ye Xiu's main profession is Battle Mage, so he chose the Battle Mage's Sky Strike for his launch skill.
Then, Dragon Tooth, also a Battle Mage skill, is a straight stab attack that can cause the enemy to enter a short-term僵直 (jiāngzhí, stiff) state. Ye Xiu also learned it casually because of his main profession.
After that, he learned the Gunner's Floating Bullet, the Mechanic's Mechanical Tracker, the Sword Master's Land Crack Wave Sword, the Grappler's Back Throw, the Ninja's Shuriken, the Swordsman's Block, the Elementalist's Light Electric Ring, and the Cleric's Healing.
These low-level skills don't require many skill points, all within 20. Plus, Jun Mo Xiao is only level 7, and the number of skill levels he can improve is limited, so he still had skill points to spare from the final 340 skill points. Ye Xiu didn't go to learn more skills. In his opinion, these were enough to deal with all current situations.
However, if ordinary players saw this set of skill combinations from a top高手 (gāoshǒu, expert), they would definitely laugh.

After careful research, I found that the public version also has an automatic update assistant. Okay... let me try it. Is it twelve o'clock now? If it is, pick up your rice bowl and vote!
