Capítulo 1351: Chapter 1351: Engagement Banquet (Part 10)
Being held around the waist, no matter how much Shu Wen struggled, she couldn’t break free, feeling furious enough to kill the person behind her.
Watching helplessly as Jiaojiao struggled in the lake, eventually losing strength and starting to sink to the bottom, she felt as though she herself had fallen into a freezing cellar, chilled to the bone.
Jiaojiao is afraid of water!
Though the commotion on their side wasn’t very loud, one of the people involved was the main character of today’s engagement, causing some attention with this tugging and pulling. Several people standing near the back door looked over.
Qin Qiong hadn’t gone far, just near the back door, exchanging pleasantries while waiting for them to return from the bathroom. Seeing several people gathering at the back door whispering, occasionally pointing towards the corridor, glancing at him as if wary of something, a sense of foreboding rose within him.
Perplexed, he walked over. Just then, Xiu Xi was coming out from Duan Qianyang’s suite, having learned from Ruan Hao that Jiaojiao and Shu Wen had gone to the restroom, also heading towards the back door wanting to bring Jiaojiao back.
The two approached, the former seeing Shu Wen being held around the waist, ashen-faced.
The latter saw Jiaojiao in the lake, too filled with water, unable to even struggle.
Both their expressions changed simultaneously.
“Lake, lake… Hurry! Hurry!” Shu Wen, tears streaming down her face, couldn’t even shout anymore, looking at the two appearing at the back door as though she’d found saviors.
It was then Qin Qiong noticed Jiaojiao in the lake no longer struggling much, eyes wide open. Unaware of Xiu Xi behind him, disregarding anything else, he rushed over to jump into the lake to rescue Jiaojiao. But someone faster than him jumped into the lake first, scooping up the barely struggling Jiaojiao.
This was an artificial lake, so it wasn’t deep. Xiu Xi jumped in and the water only reached his shoulders, but for Jiaojiao, it was like the Eighteenth Layer of Hell.
When he scooped Jiaojiao up, she was already unresponsive.
Xiu Xi’s face looked grim, almost dark enough to drip ink, the hand supporting her trembled slightly.
Jiang Bin didn’t quite react. He hadn’t noticed the cat in Shu Wen’s arms when he grabbed her, only realized when the cat fell into the lake. Seeing Shu Wen wanting to jump in to rescue it, he instinctively stopped her.
Now seeing even Xiu Xi unhesitatingly jump into the lake to save the cat, he still didn’t quite react, not understanding how one cat could be so important for them to care so much.
Unconsciously he released Shu Wen, who immediately turned around and slapped him hard.
Shivering with rage: “Jiang Bin, if anything happens to her, I won’t let you go!”
Facing Shu Wen’s eyes as if she was looking at an enemy, Jiang Bin was stunned, feeling like a large gash had torn open in his heart. Was he less important to her than a cat?
He opened his mouth to speak, but no one gave him the chance; Qin Qiong, who had already rushed over, gave him a punch in the face.
Compared to Shu Wen’s slap, this punch almost dazed him, knocking out a tooth. He staggered back several steps, barely steadying himself against the railing.
“Jiang, if something happens to her, you’ll be waiting to die!” Qin Qiong spat out threateningly.
