Chapter 188: Chapter 188
Subconsciously, he glanced at Mia Ginger.
Once again, his instructor glared at him, and he ran past without looking sideways.
Dallas Taylor watched his back, snorted with displeasure, and strode towards the team.
He looked around, then loudly said, "Tong Tong, step out."
If he remembered correctly, this girl was closest to Mia, often whispering together.
"Yes."
"Mia Ginger injured her knee, help her to the medical room."
"Yes." Tong Tong responded, turned around, and jogged away.
It was still early, just past 7 a.m. in the medical room, so Tong Tong wasn’t in a hurry and walked very slowly, supporting Mia Ginger.
Her gaze subconsciously followed Camden River running, feeling uncomfortable.
Mia Ginger turned to glance at her, momentarily at a loss for words, thought briefly, and then said softly, "I ran into him again last night at the dormitory; it was him who gave me the iodine."
This probability made even her feel awkward.
"I think he might have feelings for you." Tong Tong withdrew her gaze, feeling a little lost.
Mia Ginger remained silent.
She was sensitive, and certain things just got more complicated the more they were explained.
"We’ve been classmates for four years, and I don’t think he’s usually this enthusiastic, especially just now, he ran off in the middle of training, seeming very worried about you."
"He saw my knee was injured last night."
"That has nothing to do with it." Tong Tong looked at her and smiled, "I know it has nothing to do with you either. You’re so pretty, even I like you, let alone the boys."
Mia Ginger fell silent again.
Tong Tong stopped talking, supporting her as they slowly made their way outside the field.
——
In the distance.
New Media Institute’s counselor, Alexander Miller, appeared on the military training ground for the first time.
As he looked across the rows, he noticed that Row Nine seemed to be missing people, and frowned, asking, "Hasn’t Mia Ginger come back yet?"
"She injured her knee and was helped to the medical room." Dallas Taylor, standing next to him, responded in a faint voice.
"Injured?" Alexander Miller was momentarily stunned, "Is it serious?"
"She’s fine, just needs to rest for a day or two."
"Is that so?" Alexander Miller smiled, "I also heard that this girl was performing well, but it seems she really will be missing out on military training."
"Is there anything else?" Dallas Taylor frowned.
"I heard a good friend of hers passed away. When she was in my office writing a leave note, she couldn’t even hold the pen properly. I gave her two days off, counting from yesterday, and she’ll need another day for the funeral." Alexander Miller couldn’t help but sigh, "I guess her friend wasn’t much older and just passed away like that; it’s quite sad to think about."
Dallas Taylor was momentarily stunned and didn’t speak for a long time.
Subconsciously, he looked again in the direction Mia Ginger had left.
There was no one there anymore.
Turning his head, he remembered the scene from yesterday.
Mia Ginger lifted her hand to pass him the leave note, her face expressionless.
This girl—
So stubborn that it left him speechless.
Dallas Taylor was both frustrated and helpless; when he saw her next his expression softened a bit.
The entire rest of the day, Mia Ginger did not participate in the military training.
She sat by the side of the field resting.
Looking listless, yet showing no particular emotion, quietly sitting there, it’s hard to tell what she was thinking about.
Dallas Taylor glanced occasionally, moving his expressionless gaze away.
——
It was a Monday.
Koa Jackson was busy at the hospital all day until he finally had some free time at 4 p.m.
Fidgeting with the pen in his hand, he was somewhat lost in thought.
It was then that he remembered Mia Ginger.
