Chapter 903 "SUCCESSOR" (6)

In his actual actions, Phil chose to represent the white, lower and middle-class groups that had long been overlooked; in his slogans, he said that he actually represented all the citizens of Hope City, and even all the people of the US.

Phil declared on Twitter that the Super Hero Association, and the superheroes who joined it, although still verbally calling themselves "successors to World Captain," had in fact completely deviated from the spirit of World Captain. These superheroes were merely content with giving speeches, putting on shows, lying, and raking in money. They weren't actually doing anything practical, which was why the crime rate in Hope City was so high.

Phil himself was the one who truly inherited the spirit of World Captain. As long as he could gain more support, he would definitely be able to change this stagnant situation, continuously reduce the crime rate in Hope City, and prevent superheroes from getting caught up in deceit and infighting. Instead, under his leadership, they would unite and recreate the glory of World Captain's era.

Phil's speech sparked a heated response.

The Super Hero Association only gave Phil a nominal position during the first election, and didn't even allow him to give a speech on site. But even so, Phil's speeches on Twitter still garnered him a large number of fans, and he crushed his opponents with an absolute majority of votes, entering the next round of the election and becoming a rising star.

It wasn't until this point that the other superheroes realized that something was wrong.

Threatened superheroes frantically dug up dirt on Phil through television media, wanting to shatter the false image he had created in front of his fans through these stains.

But to their surprise, this trick, which had always worked in the past, was now completely ineffective.

Because in the past, superheroes' personas were very perfect. As long as a piece of dirt was dug up and publicized everywhere, it could cause very heavy damage to him or her. Even if these superheroes were cautious in their words and actions, it was impossible to be flawless. It was always possible to pick a bone from an egg.

There were countless black marks on Phil, including his education, his company, his messing around with men and women, and even the scripting in the *Successor* program was exposed.

These large consortiums and media controlled by superheroes began to bombard Phil, hoping to collapse his persona in this way and completely lose public support.

But what they didn't expect was that this trick was completely ineffective.

Because Phil didn't become a superhero in a conventional way. He already had countless black spots on him, including the fact that he messed around with men and women, which the public already knew. These black materials didn't hurt him at all.

The only threatening thing was the scripting in the *Successor* program, but Phil flatly denied this, saying that it was the suppression and smearing of him by the vested interest groups within the Super Hero Association.

Each side insisted on its own point of view, and the public couldn't see any absolutely convincing evidence, so they could only choose which side to believe.

However, there had been many incidents of large consortiums and superheroes using the media to fabricate fake news to attack competitors, and these traditional television media had lost the trust of most of the public.

The groups that supported Phil were even more convinced that Phil was being sabotaged, and their support for him became more steadfast. Even more people joined the ranks of supporting Phil because of this.

In fact, Phil had created a special "information cocoon" effect through his Twitter, locking all of his supporters in the information cocoon, only understanding the information they were willing to accept and believe, and naturally being invincible.

For Phil's supporters, they needed a spokesperson who could protect their interests. They yearned to recreate the glory of the World Captain era, yearned to reduce the crime rate and live a peaceful life, and yearned to make changes to the stagnant superhero community.

They craved this so much, and no one but Phil could meet their requirements.

Of course, Phil wouldn't really meet their requirements, he was just deceiving them. But Phil's supporters were willing to be deceived, because they were also deceiving themselves.

Therefore, no matter how much dirt was exposed about Phil, they would choose to believe Phil for no reason, only receiving the information that met their expectations, and turning a blind eye to the information they didn't want to see.

In this way, Phil's power became stronger and stronger. He didn't even participate in the live speeches and debates, and he defeated one opponent after another.

Although the voices against Phil were getting louder and louder, his approval rating was also constantly rising, gradually breaking into the top ten of superhero approval ratings.

Phil, who had gained powerful power, began to selectively intervene in the events of other superheroes. If he succeeded, he would exaggerate the major role he played in the operation, and that serious consequences might have occurred if he had followed the association's original arrangements; and if he failed, he would emphasize that the association had not shared the information of the operation with him, and push the blame to the superheroes and the association who performed the task.

In addition, Phil also arranged for people to dig up all kinds of dirt on his competitors, or use this dirt to threaten other superheroes to exchange interests, or directly anonymously release them to attack his opponents. But Phil, because of his own particularities, even if there was some dirt, it would be interpreted as "true temperament," completely in an invincible position.

According to Cui Geng's vision, the first half of the plot was that Phil, through such a series of methods, even at the expense of creating large-scale public safety incidents, caused hundreds of people to die and eventually replaced the strongest superhero.

But obviously, this wasn't the end.

In the second half of the plot, although Phil had become the number one superhero, his position was not stable, because the traditional vested interest groups and emerging superheroes wanted to pull him down, and he, who was standing in a high position, faced even more severe threats than before.

In the second half of the plot, Phil used his power to eliminate dissidents, suppress new superheroes, and squeeze those superheroes to make them his vassals, step by step consolidating his power.

Phil returned to the *Successor* talent show as a mentor, and cultivated his own superhero forces through this show.

In the end, he successfully recruited almost all the superheroes, made a lot of money through his special status, and deceived the public through various false crime rate data.

The billions of funds his father spent for him were all recovered with interest, and the lives of the people were getting worse and worse. But even so, the people still felt that Phil was a superhero who didn't seek fame or profit, and that their own misfortune was due to other countries, and due to the forces in the US who were against Phil.

In this way, Phil sat steadily on the supreme throne of superheroes, and all the superheroes who had ever sinned against him before were retaliated against.

But at the end of the story, these superheroes who were retaliated against and struggled to survive, as well as a few people who saw through Phil's true colors, secretly united and worked hard to overthrow Phil's rule.

In the actual creation process, Cui Geng also had to add various iconic events. Phil Simmons's acquisition of the highest power of superheroes corresponded to an iconic event at every key node.

There would be many large-scale fighting scenes in these events, from the initial robbery, homicide, and chasing fugitives, to later dealing with terrorist attacks, hijacking, and even local wars overseas, basically covering the common combat scenes in the superhero theme.

But the truth of all these events runs counter to the traditional superhero stories, and what the public knows is always the whitewashed truth…

Cui Geng's story outline was relatively long, basically reaching the upper limit of the number of words for the inspiration class customized buyout article, which was 500,000 words.

For him, it would take a long time to perfectly complete the entire story.

But anyway, it was a buyout article, and President Pei paid for it, so Cui Geng had no worries at all. He just needed to collect inspiration every day and write slowly.

Even after finishing writing, he could spend time re-editing it from beginning to end to ensure that every plot achieved his expected effect.
