915: Chapter 577_2 915: Chapter 577_2 And they use ordinary swords and blades; their disciples’ Qinggong is so weak!
Tang Feiyang was meditating and cultivating; he was alone in one carriage.
There was always a bit more space for a little extra food and luggage in his carriage!
Those junior disciples who set out with him always had excited faces, earnestly taking notes from the Secret Manuals, memorizing every single word – as students, memory is their greatest strength!
The Secret Manual in their hands was their capital to soar into the skies in the future.
They needed to commit it to memory, so that even if they were forced to destroy it one day, its contents would already be etched in their minds!
They have always wanted to shout out that they too could cultivate now and how those in their families or classmates would be envious of their ability to travel.
They deeply admired their senior brother, who was always their role model!
It was the same in the past, and it’s the same now!
The senior brother only practiced the Secret Manual for half a month and had already reached the entry level, attaining the seventh layer of Qi Cultivation.
Perhaps in the Cultivation World, such an ability might not even match some minor characters!
But the senior brother’s cultivation time was short!
With time, he will definitely rise in level.
Their senior brother has always been their role model!
If they can’t match their senior brother, they must at least be stronger than their other fellow disciples!
The junior disciples, sitting neatly in the carriages, read with greater concentration than they did in school!
Tang Feiyang and the others continued on their journey at noon without resting at any towns, occasionally stopping to let the team disembark, get off their horses, eat some dry food, and take care of personal hygiene!
Their entourage, with so many luxurious carriages, attracted envious glances from country folk or ordinary passersby upon each departure!
Tang Feiyang’s team also would not stay in remote areas; the soldiers would be vigilant, looking ahead and sending two pairs of soldiers to scout in front!
Any situation would be relayed back to them by the very experienced squad leader!
Finally, at night, they reached a rather flat area with distant mountains that were quite far off, and nearby there were villages!
According to what the young students said, they should find a town and stay at an inn, as it would be a bit safer!
“We are out here experiencing divine tribulations; as long as we are careful, take turns patrolling, and set up tents to sleep in, I can also explain the contents of the books to you at night.
It’s not so convenient to do that in an inn, and such places are full of all sorts of people.
My time is precious, so would you rather I explain things to you, or stay in an inn?”
After hearing Tang Feiyang’s words, the students enthusiastically supported his idea to camp out!
Naturally, those most supportive of camping were the soldiers because when the Young Master would explain things, they too would have a chance to listen!
Maybe they would also be lucky enough to get hold of a book and have a chance to cultivate!
This was one of the reasons they eagerly joined the journey and were not afraid of danger!
Winter was approaching and although this was the South, it was quite chilly.
They couldn’t always eat dry food; constructing tents required making fires to boil water, cook rice and main dishes, and a fire allowed them to read and stay warm!
As everyone busied themselves, Tang Feiyang prepared the books for the soldiers!
While others were busy setting up tents and cooking, Tang Feiyang slapped the shoulders of the students, saying that while they need to gather firewood, they must also help look after the horses which had already traveled a long way that day and needed grass to graze where it was available.
After the soldiers cooked the meals and made soup and though grass wasn’t abundant, they didn’t feel any particular way about it.
The young students of the Noble Clans, used to the finer things in life, had some opinions and thoughts about the simple food served!
But they dared not express them; if the senior brother ate it, how could they refuse?
Tang Feiyang had already said that the outside world was tough; how could training outside be as comfortable as in the Capital City?
If they were afraid of hardship, it would be most difficult for them to succeed in cultivation!
The students had studied hard for more than ten years, with additional physical strengthening activities at the academy to call them hearty and strong!
After dinner, Tang Feiyang began to explain the Dao within the Secret Manual.
The Confucianism Tao they followed while practicing calligraphy and pursuing cultivation, and the Heavenly Dao followed in cultivation, were similar yet different, both encompassing all things born between heaven and earth.
Tang Feiyang asked everyone to memorize the spell of Cultivation, then continue to meditate and cultivate inside their tents in the dark night.
“Senior brother, it’s so cold; do we just meditate and cultivate without a quilt and not sleep?” one of the students asked.
Tang Feiyang nodded, looking at them: “We’ve just started cultivating.
If you’re not accustomed to it, you can meditate for two hours and then go to sleep!”
“Can we still cultivate while traveling in a carriage?” Another student asked.
“Blessings come to those who work hard!”
After finishing this part, Tang Feiyang returned to his own tent.
He had already cultivated his Qi and did not feel cold in the frigid tent!
He didn’t even need the quilt he had brought before.
The air was fresh on the plains, the only downside being that the spiritual energy here was not as abundant as in the Capital City, nor comparable to some of the Immortal Sects and Noble Clans!
…
Du Jiaolan and the many others disguised as women were on their way.
Strangely enough, no matter how fast they traveled, they could not catch up to Tang Feiyang’s group!
Their group was not large, and they would stop to eat in towns during the day for safety.
At night they sought inns to stay at, constantly inquiring along the way, yet they never heard about Tang Feiyang’s conspicuously noticeable carriage from anyone.
However, they did receive information that a squadron was seen two days ago; they were riders clad in thick cotton garments with luggage strapped to their horses!
Du Jiaolan merely thought these were people from the Martial World, and they certainly did not look like merchants transporting goods!
Yingzi, however, felt something was off.
Those people were also heading north, so perhaps they were part of some group?
She thought of the Prime Minister, but surely he hadn’t made an appearance yet?
The Prime Minister’s son wouldn’t be so diligent either, never leaving the Capital City.
With a beast tide happening in the north, Yingzi sent a message to the organization.
They wanted them to stir trouble in these murky waters, allowing the beast tide to wreak havoc on the people of Ancient Xia Country.
To cause more calamity, to buy them time, they would come from overseas after this winter!
And to enable those lying in wait in Ancient Xia Country to seize this chance and cause deaths in the Cultivation World!
After spending a night at an inn, yesterday they continued their journey on a rather remote road passing a large mountain with distant villages!
“Be alert, vigilant!”
At Yingzi’s command, the women spurred their horses on, hoping to quickly traverse this mountain valley!
“Rumble, rumble, rumble.”
Suddenly, boulders tumbled down from the mountain.
Their rolling was precisely where they were passing; getting hit by a boulder meant death, and even if blocked, the path meant they must stop!
“Stop!”
Du Jiaolan chose to halt.
With such large boulders falling, not dying meant wounds, it would be agonizing!
Having stopped, they saw that the mountain rocks had blocked a section of their path.
And then, from the opposite side, a group of people emerged, all dressed in black and covering their faces!
Judging by their silhouettes, they were men, each holding a bow and arrow, with a leader clutching a sword!
“State who you are?” The leader asked with a slight sneer and a hint of greed, his gaze fixing on the black-clothed figures that resembled women!
“We’re just passing by.
Why block our path with rocks?
Who are you?” Yingzi responded with a counter-question.
“Boss, they’re all women.
We don’t have wives yet, haha!
Counted them up, just enough for one wife for each of us,” a guard joked, inciting laughter among the men!
“I’ve got a wife already; don’t need any more!” another masked man stated!
“Ha ha ha ha!”
These men seemed to be appraising goods, looking at the masked black-clothed women as merchandise, as prey to be evaluated!
Du Jiaolan, Yingzi, and the black-clothed women watched them coolly!
They were all agents of the organization, capable of any task.
Among them were daughters of noble lineage, would they regard these masked men who looked like thieves?
To defeat and turn them into Puppets!
