Chapter 1077 - 1077 658_2

1077: Chapter 658_2 1077: Chapter 658_2 A bit regretful for not concealing the Flying Artifact!

Jiang Tang wasn’t scared, but he hadn’t figured out the situation here yet.

Now that they were discovered, a battle was inevitable!

As they were reacting, they saw outside the Flying Artifact, a dense swarm of creatures resembling flying birds.

But upon closer look!

Describing them as birds wasn’t accurate—they had humanoid bodies.

Saying they were human wasn’t right either—their heads resembled dogs.

No…

wolves!

Could it be that the inhabitants of Greedy Wolf Star were neither human nor wolf, but some sort of bizarre hybrid creatures?

No one could provide answers at the moment!

These wolf-like bird creatures brandished weapons in their hands—tridents, dark and sharp iron tridents!

Their shared target was the Flying Artifact!

The humans inside could see their forms clearly, but these strange beings were unable to peer into the Flying Artifact!

They were simply attacking the unidentified object!

Jiang Tang’s Flying Artifact, originating from the Primordial Treasure Spirit Field Space, was not so easily destroyed!

The Flying Artifact was both soundproof and equipped with defenses.

Though it was bombarded with loud bangs outside, those inside couldn’t hear a thing!

Confronted with this kind of attack, Eryao was eager to step out and unleash a thunderbolt to obliterate them!

Jiang Tang told him to hold off for now.

Ye Tian was incredibly curious—what exactly was going on here?

These part-human, part-something-else creatures…

could they be Demons in transformation?

Had they entered some kind of Demon world?

Ye Tian extended his Divine Sense to investigate.

Ye Tian discovered that these strange creatures, the flying wolves, were a type of demon capable of cultivation.

Jiang Tang had also realized this!

Eryao and Green Ox felt that the flying wolf creatures outside were far beneath their level!

They cast disdainful glances at them—after all, when transformed, could these creatures ever match their own striking elegance?

As if noticing something or sensing the disdain, the so-called monsters outside burst into more frenzied attacks!

Jiang Tang’s Divine Sense, far more powerful than his pets’ and even stronger than Ye Tian’s Soul, had been scanning the situation from the very beginning.

Beneath the clouds, he detected a layer of thick fog, under which lay beautiful mountains and rivers!

Yet this breathtaking landscape was obscured by the mist!

The mist posed no real obstruction to Jiang Tang; as he delved deeper, he saw how the enchanting scenery, shrouded in mist, seemed to emanate an ethereal Immortal Qi!

This was a land filled with Spiritual Energy.

Was it possible that this place operated like the Cultivation World—a world of balance?

He even glimpsed some humans wandering in the mist, as well as some Demons!

Human-Demon coexistence?

This was just speculation for now.

Was it possible that on Greedy Wolf Star, normal humans and Demons could coexist, dividing territories?

Could these flying wolves be some sort of airborne military force?

Jiang Tang found this intriguing and briefly shared his observations with his pets and Ye Tian!

After pondering for a while, Ye Tian disagreed: “Human-Demon coexistence?

That seems improbable.

Anywhere Demons are present wouldn’t stay peaceful.

And like you mentioned, the black mist conceals everything.

Where humans live, shouldn’t there be sunlight?

Even if it’s night, wouldn’t there be moonlight?

If not, stars at the very least.

Black mist shrouding the moon and sun isn’t normal at all!”

Jiang Tang…, your knowledge embarrasses me for thinking too little.

“Master, shall I deliver a Thunder Strike?” Eryao was eager for action after just a day of rest!

Green Ox…

Eryao, why are you so eager to fight?

You’re not about to replace me with brute force, are you?

“Why speculate?

Let’s descend and see for ourselves!” Jiang Tang gestured with a hand seal, and flames erupted from the Flying Artifact’s outer edge!

The sudden blaze caught the Demon creatures off guard.

Their screams pierced the air as their fur, clothes, and even the hair on their wolf heads were set alight!

Their flying wings, scorched by the sudden fireball, filled the scene with the acrid stench of burnt flesh.

The nearer flying wolves retreated hastily, screaming in pain as their wings and bodies were burned!

Further away, a new wave of flying wolves approached cautiously, stepping back slightly upon seeing the situation.

They hesitated, observing the mysterious object as it spewed fire in intervals.

Their earlier attempts to damage it had failed to leave even a scratch!

“Hey, hey!” Eryao shouted enthusiastically from inside.

“Turns out these flying wolves are afraid of pain!

They’re flesh and blood after all!”

Green Ox…

Maybe they smell better than roasted pork, huh?

“Master, can we eat these Demon wolves?” Eryao sniffed the air, possibly picking up an appetizing aroma with his dragon nose!

“Jiang Tang, what’s up with your pet?

He just ate, and he’s already drooling,” Ye Tian teased Eryao slyly.

“Brother-in-law, I can afford to feed them!” Jiang Tang played along.

“Oh, as you wish!” Ye Tian replied indifferently, adopting an air of nonchalance.

“You’re the wealthy one; raise your pets however you see fit!”

Jiang Tang shot a glance at Eryao, who was bristling with annoyance, and silently lit a candle in his heart for Ye Tian, whose loose tongue might spark the dragon’s vengeful wrath.

“Hmph!

This Divine Dragon doesn’t need your charity, nor does it welcome your unsolicited comments!” Eryao huffed arrogantly, glaring at Ye Tian with his enormous dragon eyes.

Ye Tian…

Fine, you win.

You and your gang are unmatched!

By this time, the Flying Artifact had descended through the clouds.

Without the Divine Weave’s enhanced vision, it would have been impossible to see the ground!

Jiang Tang made yet another discovery—on the fog-covered terrain below, humans and demons were locked in fierce combat!

Was this a localized phenomenon, or did it occur across the entire planet?

Jiang Tang shared his doubts with Ye Tian, uncertain of what to make of it.

Ye Tian, too, had noticed the issue.

However, being newcomers to this land, they couldn’t simply throw themselves into battle without understanding the stakes.

Neither the identities of the enemies nor their motivations were clear.

Who knew if those Demon people were raised by humans or unleashed by the Demon Realm?

Eryao rubbed his hands together eagerly, his excitement mounting.

Another opportunity for fun?

He shot a glance at Green Ox, already anticipating his moment of glory.

This would be his battlefield.

“Looks like more divine tribulation training for me—ah, wait, correction: more divine tribulation training for me while you continue to slack off!”

Green Ox…

I do my job well, okay?

What do you mean by slacking off?

“Jiang Tang, why are your pets so battle-hungry?

Do pets simply mirror their masters?”

Ye Tian seized another chance to poke fun.

Jiang Tang replied with a knowing look—”You don’t have pets, so you wouldn’t understand.”

Ye Tian…

Was that jab necessary?

Hurtful words can leave lasting scars!

This General didn’t want any pets, alright?

Puppets would suffice!

Although, his Puppets seemed to lack a spotlight, overshadowed by Jiang Tang and his hyperactive companions.

Yet he chose not to voice this aloud.

His Puppets were treasures, carefully hidden away!

Here in this land, far removed from the Cultivation World, one couldn’t even find the necessary materials for creating Puppets!

If his Puppets were destroyed, he’d be left heartbroken!

Let Jiang Tang and his crew handle it; they were the capable ones anyway!

Sometimes, jealousy simmered as he watched them frequently bask in the Light of Merit.

However, even after collecting that much Light of Merit, Jiang Tang never seemed to undergo noticeable changes.

Perhaps the Light of Merit didn’t actually assist their cultivation levels?

Jiang Tang had no idea what Ye Tian was thinking.

Out of consideration for his friend, he chose not to explain the true nature of the Light.

Some secrets were better left unsaid!

He didn’t want Ye Tian to turn green with envy, like a sour lime!

The Flying Artifact did not land but instead sped along through the skies at great velocity!

At such speeds, the Demons below experienced only fleeting discomfort.

Their Mana-based attacks couldn’t even reach high enough to glimpse the Artifact!

For now, the Demons wrought havoc on the battlefield, clashing with humans.

The unidentified object—Jiang Tang’s Flying Artifact—momentarily distracted the Demons, but they quickly refocused on their human adversaries.

As the Flying Artifact sailed by, Jiang Tang observed a particular scene below—a Beast Tide surging forth.

These creatures, whether flying, crawling, or walking on two legs, were united in attacking humans!

Not all could take on humanoid forms.

Clearly, there was a hierarchy, with superior abilities allowing the highest-ranking beings to assume near-human appearances.

Even so, one look at their faces was enough to discern their origins!

Humans’ spoken language was still unknown for now, but the beastly growls of flying beasts and ground-based Demonic Beasts seemed coherent to Eryao and Green Ox, who tilted their heads as though understanding.

Could it be that the language of Demonic Beasts was universal between this world and the Cultivation World’s Demonic Beasts and Divine Beasts?
